Jackie - It appears that the plot thickens. Looking deeper into your shipment, it show that you shipped it on 10/27/21 and then on 11/11/21 M. Stancombe changed the delivery instruction to a "hold for pick up." That is why "at the front desk" appears on the proof of delivery. He had UPS hold it at one of their locations so that he could pick it up on 11/24/21. When there is a hold for pickup, you have to provide proof of identity before they will give you the package and then you have to sign for it. There is absolutely no doubt that he received the package. Now you have a brand new itch to scratch...

It's the online sellers who create labels to get "credit" for shipment that bug the hell out of me. Then you have to wait up to 10 business days before they do anything about it. I won't buy anything from anyone in NYC or NJ anymore because I don't trust either the sellers or carriers.:mad:

The guy received your package 10 weeks ago and has not contacted you or paid you. You can call him what ever you want, but in my book, a scoundrel seems to fit. I sent you the picture of the house so that the 'Wilson Heavy Mob, that you mentioned, can easily identify it.

Article in question that went missing is a concept of the old race tower at LAKE X.
Was something i did many moons ago in my formative years — wasn’t particularly valuable — or even that good to be honest. But i have never seen another one , so it is kind of unique. It’s very easily recognised . Told the guy i would even swop it for a bunch of R.C.Propellers . So its not as though we were not talking beforehand —- i still refuse to believe its anything other than a misunderstanding.
Wheels have been set in motion to solve the problem.

Here in the UK we have a group of MP‘s who think it’s „“COOL“ to go to work on a pushbike. So they do not pay rated cent towards the upkeep of the roads — not a single tax does a cyclist pay — we build cycle ways that cost billions —-now the HIGHWAY CODE [ UK‘S ROAD BIBLE] has decreed that cyclists should ride in the middle of the road and that motorists should give them the right of way .
Well good luck with that one —- most British motorists think the same way i do . So a few nudge and bumps soon had the cyclists screaming foul. After two days — all the motoring organisations want the rules changed . How about £100 fines for riding on roads equipped with cycleways for a start.

After the Euphorie of a 90th birthday , i am finally coming down to earth. Was a very expensive birthday party but well worth it . Even though i said i did not want any presents —no one took a blind bit of notice . I can now wear my Sunday best cashmere sweaters for work. Received 3 more of the best quality which i can save for best and use the best for work.
This time of year i wear three at a time —when it gets really cold i put on a fourth. I received so much whisky [4 bottles of Canadian club and three single malts ] i wont have to buy any this month.

Sold an OCORINA to a lady —-packed it very carefully in a nice box all ready for posting and put it in a safe place . Lady enquired where it had got to . Knew i had put it in a safe place — but damned if i could remember where i placed it , turned the workshop upside down for two days . Spent two sleepless nights worrying about it . Finally asked Jill if she had any idea where i would put an OCORINA.. she said :sure i know, its in the box under the lampshade —right where you sit each evening . Price one pays for being an elder statesman!!!!!
Put another chapter in the book yesterday ——BOATBUILDERS IN THE 1970/S .—- 1,000words and a few piccies generally make up chapter . Book has 12 chapters up to now . I Look at all the folk out there [ex retired racers Richie Powers and Billy SEEBOLD ] and wonder if i should even bother .
I am nearly at MAKE UP YOUR MIND TIME .!!!!!!!!!!

Afraid SUPERSHED is in turmoil after my search for the OCORINA. Friday today and my task will be to do a few necessary alterations to the centre workbench. Then clean and sweep the whole shebang. It’s like the bottom of a baby’s pram— crap and biscuit crumbs .
also chucking out all the stuff i keep that „“might come in handy“ —things like a pair of biplane wings and a rolls Royce bonnet —- a second CCBB engine hood and radiator grill i never used —lake x watch tower i never got around to . Dozens of wheels i screwed up along the way. Theres always as MUCH DROSS left over from any project than i actually use . Lets face it —at my age -its never going to „“COME IN HANDY ONE DAY.“.

Do have some props coming Johnno—- cant use the Skeg, so i could ue the propshaft using a half tidy prop fixing.

Try not to do any lifting above paper bag . If i do that , i get Back ache for a week, so i was surprised at myself for wanting to do mods and improvements to the centre worktop. Put a shelf 9 inches under the top, to house the six power tools i have permanently wired in.
Problem was —i kept tripping over the wires — then the wires would tangle — i would get cross and start throwing the dollies , or in this case the power tools.
i spent the whole of Sunday morning fixing the problem- made the shelf out of 4mm aircraft alloy that i picked up at the scrapyard / size is about six foot by three foot / weighs in at around fifteen pounds .
couldn’t find any angle iron , but i did have some two inch box section In aluminium. Cut it across corners and i had me some angle . With all the boring and measurements—- bending and stretching , come lunchtime i was knackered .
went out to lunch with all my friends that weren’t invited to the birthday bash. Held it at 47 MUSSEL ROW in littlehampton. Excellent meal — me myself had pan seared scallops , followed by sea bass fillets . Excellent choice , went down well with a bottle of SANCERRE .
Never did go back into the shop. Today i have a sore throat and a hoarse voice — dosed up with aspirin and cough drops. Might just stay in bed a while . Could do a LASSE and post dozens of pictures about nothing in particular — should go with the stuff i scribe to.

was in the days when crews got very little mention .The last time i saw Graham Burton was Fairford 1969 he was driving his dads boat a green 17ft Scultz cat with a 125 hp Mercury his friend Colli Coulson who you new well had been to the Rabadanse race to see Roy Ridgell he wanted to trick up Deny Burtons engine for Graham to race at Fairford. but Bob Spalding was also there with the little Schulze Bob Cat with a 1000sbp Mercury well that led to a ding dong battle between these two drivers and Bob Spalding eventually came out on top and won the race but he did have the smaller lighter boat but it was a good race to watch i never saw that boat again after that race or Graham Burton.

Denny — his wife Joy and two of his sons all died long before their time .

They remember well the tale of grandad jack biting the head of a deadly viper because it bit him on the ankle and throwing it out on to the drive to dry in the blazing sun . The legend grows !!!
Ok i will come clean. Truth is i was cutting the edge of the drive with the trimmer —- i had shorts and no socks -just a pair of flip-flops. Strimmer kept picking up bits of grit along with the long grass . I got hit on the ankle by a couple of small stones which pierced the skin causing a trickle of blood to fall down the ankle . Didnt hurt , so i carried along strumming the long grass — a very unfortunate adder suddenly poked its head up which was immediately severed at the neck. I just tossed it on the drive for collection later . After school all the grandkids gathered and Ben the eldest noticed the blood pouring out of the wound . Grandad you’re bleeding——- yeah i know —- got bitten by a deadly snake — not to worry i got the antidote when i bit its head off !!!!!!!! I dont believe you says Ben, where’s the snake ??? Told him it was further up the drive . He ran off, found the snake , ran around the farm waving the snake like a trophy . GRANDAD BIT THE HEAD OFF A SNAKE—- JUST BECAUSE IT BIT HIM—- DO NOT MESS WITH GRANDPA JACK !!!!!!
Ben told all the kids in assembly next morning , the snake tale . Legend had begun.
Was enhanced when i blew out the back windows of the gypsies van wth a 12 bore .

Worst night of my life —- coughed and peffed like a bloody 90 year old all night long . At one time i was so low i thought i might get the iPad out —common sense prevailed . Went to bed and coughed !

Fairly close description ——-whilst not exactly like that —- symptoms are similar. If i could shift the phlegm thats tickling —- i feel that would get shot of the problem. I rarely take AB’s -but im half way through the course now and common sense tells me to continue .

It was two years ago December that I started havinga tickling sensation in the back of my throat and post-nasal drip down the back of my throat. I was having to clear my throat repeatedly and sometimes got hoarse while carrying on a conversation. I had an occasional cough during the day that I associated with the post nasal drip going down the back of my throat. Over a few more days I started coughing at night while I was sleeping. This started out as an occasional cough, but after a week or two the coughing at night got out of control and I could not stop coughing. I would get up and drink a half bottle of cough medicine just to turn it off. All the time this was going one I just attributed it to allergy symptoms. After another week I figured it was time to see the Doc. He diagnosed me as having a sinus infection and prescribed antibiotics. He said if I was not better to come back in three weeks. Three weeks later I was no better, so back I went and he prescribed a stronger antibiotic. Three weeks later I was still no better, so he told me to go to an ear, nose and throat doctor and have my throat scoped. I did that and that doctor suspected that I had acid reflux, but said that I should get an endoscopy to confirm that theory. I had the endoscopy and sure enough, I had acid reflux. I never even knew what acid reflux was. I would not have thought that acid reflux could cause the post nasal drip, which, along with an irritated throat causes coughing, but when I researched it, it does. The sore throat was a result of stomach acid pumping up into my throat at night while I was horizontal in bed. That is why my sore throat was the always the worst when I woke up and got slightly better during the day. I used the over the counter acid reducers like Zantac and it took about two weeks to work, but suddenly the post nasal drip stopped, the sore throat stopped and the coughing stopped. Today, I have to be careful about what I eat - nothing too spicy or with too much acid or the symptoms will return. I don't know if this is what you have, but if it is, at least you can follow up on it. Dr. Bobby Vee

I am going to pass on that one Doctor Bob—— Mine is just a common cold that got out of hand . Ten days in and i think its peaked . Been back in the shop for four hours today. Couple of bouts of gut racking coughs and some disgusting throat clearing moments . Definitely not the heartthrob i used to be . Whilst turning red faced —with sweat running down the face and steam coming out of their ears. What is it with these people ?????? If its even one notch above flavoursome , my arse twitches , warns me not to swallow that . I have an inbuilt warning system that takes over the minute hot spicy food comes within range .
I love MEXICAN—. Most dishes are well balanced with a delicate mix of peppers and spices , which in turn creates very flavourful fodder.
Indian food in all its various forms has swept Britain —- Frida night curry is an absolute must everywhere —except for me —- almost without exception , if i eat Indian —my stomach rejects it . I either throw up or get the SQUITS — or both . Which is why i stay away from Indian food.
Throat-has loosened up a lot . Slept quite well . Should be back to normal by the weekend .

My reflux is heredity related. It comes from my Dad's side of the family. Both my Dad and Grandfather had stomach resections due to ulcers. I was fortunate that they finally found out most ulcers were actually caused by the h-pylori bacteria. I tested off the charts for it. My GI doc gave me very strong course of antibiotics and I am fine since then.

Indian food in all its various forms has swept Britain —- Frida night curry is an absolute must everywhere —except for me —- almost without exception , if i eat Indian —my stomach rejects it . I either throw up or get the SQUITS — or both . Which is why i stay away from Indian food.

Been working all day on making the all metal V8 RUDE fit for human consumption. Rotory John told me the mount was crap. Think he might like it now — pictures tomorrow .

Shop is like a pig sty [or the bottom of a baby’s pram]. Almost always have two or three concepts running at the same time . It’s like im afraid of losing the idea if i don't get it started there and then. Consequently, tidying up after myself doesn’t happen that often. I have four times as much worktop space as the last stop !!!!!! Allows me six times as much space to fill with junk.
A while back i decided to finish some of the concepts from “under the bench” —this consists mainly of UNFINISHED PROJECTS —ie; six ROLLS ROYCE SILVER GHOSTS — six OFFSHORE POWERBOATS —- plus the ongoing everyday sort of projects .. in fact , i am rapidly disappearing up my my own Asse .
Today i have three concepts to finish . First ,the CHUNKY ALL METAL V8 RUDE. It kinda hit hard when ROTORY JOHN said the concept looked cheap and nasty—- been thinking for a couple of months what i could do to improve it. Thats todays first job ——-to be continued.

I first saw the Z1 at the International motorcycle show, in Seattle, Dec. 1972. I ordered one, three days later. My 1973 Kawasaki Z1, (prod date Nov 72), showed up at the dealer early, Feb.4th 1973. Big step up from a 1970 Honda CB450. Oh by the way, I still have mine. :). Here is a photo of it after a month of ownership.

Speaking of 25 years old.

50 years ago the Z1’s unveiling in 1972, its 903-cc, DOHC, four-cylinder engine was in a different class to the single-cam unit of Honda’s CB750, which had established the superbike category on its arrival three years earlier.
With a maximum output of 82 hp and a top speed of over 130 mph, the Kawasaki effortlessly outmuscled the 15-hp less powerful Honda and, frankly, anything else on the road.

Went for a walk along the beach at low tide at dusk—— was over half a mile to get to the water . It’s a new moon and in the five years my Daughter Sam has lived on the beach —- tide has never been this far out. Of course we were pretty tanked up by this time . As i walked through life at a ridiculous rate of knots, i had various opportunities to walk a different path. I can now look back and analyse those routes i might have taken.
1— DATSUN DEALERSHIP FOR WEST SUSSEX .
2–JAGUAR DEALERSHIP FOR HORSHAM.
3– HONDA CAR FRANCHISE FOR HORSHAM.
4–SUZUKI CAR FRANCHISE FOR WEST SUSSEX.
5– MERCURY DISTRIBUTER FOR VENEZUELA BASED IN CARACAS .
This is just a few of the many opportunities that i have been offered but turned down in my life so far.
i have also had two silver wedding anniversaries and a fifty year ??????????????? But all three are very special to only me and are only my bloody business .
Sunday morning —- time to rise and shine and start another new day— wonder what adventures are in store today.

That reminds me of learning to snow ski for the first.
A British woman friend of my Mom, in Como Italy, sells us her husband's snow skis.

I show Giorgio (Renato Molinari's brother) the skis at the Como shop. And he takes a hand file and starts sharpening the metal edges of the skis. Telling me this will help to cut into the ice better.

I go north of the shop, and take the ferry across lake Como, to a local ski slope. I still have the scar (it took stitches to close) from coming down one of the slopes. Turning, I slipped and one of the skis cut the inside of my leg below the knee. Heck I am from Florida, I have never played in the snow before. However, since then I am an intermediate level skier. I have been on black diamond runs (some sections very carefully & slow) at Mammoth, California.

Regarding going fast on a motorcycle, my criteria is do not exceed your braking skill level. I respect applying the brake bias (front & back brakes respectively) in a balance controlled descent. And again, another scar on one my hands (still there). Road is wet from rain, and I am on my cousin's bike, I apply the brakes and the rear goes sideways, and my hand is under the handlebar getting dragged on the pavement. No stitches they use butterfly bandages.

Like snow skiing, you get up, and get back on the bike. Both sports give you a sense of freedom & serenity. As does a fine day on the water too.

My mishaps, I am sure are minor compared to you guys dust-ups.

It’s always the skinny ones that cause the problem.
was on the back from the TORRIGIA Factory in ‘65 . Had three boats on board , a 15’vee bottom—- a 14’tunnel and an 18’ boat tha had run Paris in 64. MONTE BLANC tunnel was closed . Sergio CARNITI said he was going to DAVOS skiing and the col was open . We arrived - but the pass was closed — i passed on the skiing and took off along the coast road to Monaco — Cannes—Nice — St. Trop — was 18 hours nonstop driving before i reached Dieppe and the ferry to England —- slept the whole five hours crossing the channel. Brought all three boats home safely unscathed . .
Never ever did go snow skiing —— still haven’t !!!!!!!!!!so i was never tempted by the SNOWBIRDS”
i just stayed out of trouble Gene.

Well when you get the itch , there’s a terrible need to scratch—so i scratched all weekend —until it stopped itching .
Have to surprise ROTORY JOHN for one thing —— and squeeze a few dollars more out of him !!!!
sure you all know the feeling when a plan comes together and you get a weeks work done in two and a half days .
Bear in mind this particular concept is born and hand carved out of the solid aluminium. Piccies later .

All this crap about gas prices —when its the government that takes the biggest rake off—- higher the price —more the tax collected —its a win -win every time!

I'm betting that when gas reaches $6 / gal in the USA there will be a purchasing stampede on EVs and hybrids. Putin may be doing us a favor by forcing us to figure out how to "get off" oil. The stuff has connections to everything we do. Taxes have nothing to do with it.

Gas is way over $6 a gallon here already. I get 35 mpg out of my Lexus Hybrid -so yes, i think its the way to go. [previous gas only Lexus got 18/20 mpg] How the hell can you think paying 60% tax on gas has nothing to do with it ?????
Oil is like cash—- something we just cant do without— if it reaches £10 a gallon, we will still buy it.

This being the case, how do you justify a 45% increase in price. This is nothing more than price gouging from the oil producers, refineries, wholesales and retailers. Our local gas stations are increasing the prices several times a day, yet they have these same gas in the ground that they purchased at a much lower price a week or two ago. This is nothing more than a money grab by the petroleum industry fueled by the media.
