Why do I do it ??——- I’m like a bloody sea bass——- I rise to the bait every time .
Was pointed out to me Fujimo, on his Mercury thread had posted over 300 piccies——— most, if not all had been seen on his thread before——— so the question begs, WHY ?. Well, he didn’t answer, but Lassie did———— remember him .?——— the Evinrude ambassador———- quote: “ I look at this thread all the time——— it’s the second best on OUTBOARD AND RACING HISTORY !——— well no sh- t SHERLOCK!
I am not about to ask him about the best one.
I know I’m going to regret this ——- why can’t I just notice things and keep quiet, instead of rearing up and taking umbridge and going for the jugular.
well, unfortunately—— it’s what I do—— it invariably gets me into heaps of trouble, and consequently leads to a fall out .

Project got knocked back a little today———- all the paint and varnish had to come off——- made a real pigs ear of it——- as you do !
At the moment it’s a boat shaped hunk of timber with ambition and a rake of hardware, waiting to be installed——- I have high hopes !

As usual, Jilly asked me if I’d had a good day when I came in last night and downed the large CC7 that was waiting for me. Told her about the total disaster———— not to worry, you’ll put it right tomorrow————— anyway, what else would you be doing ?
Says it all doesn’t it.
It’s not a race to the finish line any more——— nobody’s waiting for anything——— I should just be enjoying the fact that I’m able to do it at all.
Fact is——— I don’t even have time to be ill any more——- arthritis doesn’t even knock on the door—- TIA’s seem to have stopped——- little grey cells are busier than ever.
Down side——— I’m getting fat ! No, I don’t go jogging every day——- never have—— don’t eat any more——- don’t drink any more than usual———- so, it has to be the steroids.
Well, if I’m honest—— if they keep me ticking along—— stop most nasty things from getting to me —— then I don’t mind putting on a few pounds.
I do believe a man only has so much energy given to him, I’m not about to waste it pounding the pavement———- five or six hours a day in the shop works for me——- don’t even have a place to sit in there, so I have to keep moving!
Assembly day——- six coats of beeswax on bare mahogany——— ten coats of red for a bit of depth, if all goes well, you could be looking at a piccie Or two later in the day! How ‘Bout that?

Had “COOL RUNNING” all morning———- no screw ups ( yet) —— just finished the drives, mounted it—— at the LANGHAM ANGLE!——— down side is, I don’t have any white lettering and I’m a crap freehand signwriter. Just need a no.1 ——- a K and a Ciggy sign—— throw on the USA flag and I’m on the home straight.

If I ever get around to doing another one—— it’ll be a belter !
What do think Gene—— passable?

The graphics are--'crap'--- but----
The original has held up for nearly 50 years--much better than the original crew--
---and the restoration by Christian will be---AWESOME--

A few years back, I did a concept of Odell’s “MONA LOU”——- took it to Tavares but Odell didn’t show that year.
Left it with Mark——- wrong—— next thing, I see it In Mumbai ????
Moral of this story is ——— never leave concepts with your kids.
Remember I told you I always have an alternative project, for when I get my knickers in a twist or things not going to plan !
Well it just happens to be another MONA LOU ——— trying to make up for lost time.
jackiewilson
10-17-2018, 04:50 PM
Odells “Mona Lou” is ready for painting—— found a full can of Quiceven done the mount, really got a wriggle on today—— has been one of my better days.
Cant Believe it’s bloody Thursday again tomorrow——- need some yellow paint for MONA LOU from the car boot Tomorrow——- let you know how I get on!
jackiewilson
10-18-2018, 01:08 AM
That should have read”QUICKSILVER” primer———- must be nearly forty years since I bought this from the Mercury Dealer SWMF in Poole. Guess I just hoard things.
Car boot calls ——- let you know how I do !
jackiewilson
10-18-2018, 07:28 AM
Not a lot going on ——- every stall thinks it’s an offshoot of “HARRODS”——way too pticy for me.
Did buy a roll of 220 emery strip,
got a couple of coats on Mona——- should get another couple done later in the day.
Started another concept——- this one is for BONHAMS.
show it you before the end of the week!
jackiewilson
10-18-2018, 12:41 PM
Just about got the tenth coat on Mona——- mounts done—- stern drives done——— might leave it a couple of days and ship it out to SHERLOCK———- when it comes to graphics, Johns the boy, he’s so much better than me!
There was a guy called Diamond Dave Bonham——— collected Ferrari’s for fifty years—— had over a hundred tucked away in a barn——— wait till you see the next Concept———- WICKED——-have to say, even I got a tad excited———- long time since I had a Ferrari orgasm!
Show you a piccie over the weekend——— hell of a lot of work going into this one—— just hope I’m good enough and can justify it——- not. everyday you get to mount half a dozen Marinellos—— THRUST two——- Bluebird ——- and a couple of really beat up Ferrari’s.
Ah well, let’s see what tomorrow has in store!

Sherlock?
Sorry John——-lm a dingleberry! And an old one to boot! What a Pratt!
Thank goodness YOU know who I meant————- have no idea what I was thinking about.
John Schubert is much better at graphics and detail than I am !
Got a head full of ideas———— another sleepless night figuring out what to do with this next concept, I’m a little bogged down trying to work out how to do it without the fixings showing.
see if I can bring Mona to Tavares John——— I read you had booked your ticket—— see if you can get Ron Hill and Jimbo to attend———— now wouldn’t that really be something ?
jackiewilson

Arse going up and down like a fiddlers elbow——- like a total FECKIN idiot, I have three concept on at once.
Problem is——- they’re all gong well——- no hang— ups just yet, now that’s not normal !
Mona Lou is ready for one last coat of paint——- assemble it all together——- stick it on the stand—— job done!
Shouldn't have started the EMBASSY TURBINE——- didn’t have a chunk of wood sufficiently large enough to do the job——— so what did I do ?——- glued a load of bits together until I did have.
Been spokeshaving all morning —— up to My fetlocks in mahogany shavings.
Had to leave Bonhams and the barn full of Ferrari’s till a bit later ! Exciting times——
jackiewilson
10-19-2018, 12:59 PM
FECKIN Embassy Turbine is awesome——— orgasmic even———— I am invincible!!!!!
Mona Lisa is light years better than last time!!!!
Diamond collection of Bonhams Ferrari’s is absolutely mind boggling to put it conservatorily——I hauled the mail—— cooked with gas——- nailed the bastards——today I swallowed the bear whole!!!
This afternoon I am at Goodwood with daughter Sam, drinking champagne—- with skinny fries——- in a while I may ply a flitspire or Buck a fiffalo who knows?

Beauty of a car boot sale——— you never know what your going to stumble over at the next stall! Tested—Certified and stamped .
2015 large Lifeline race jacket——- absolutely as new—— had to pay through the nose for it——-$15.
But I bit the bullet bravely !!!

Will show you the Bonhams “Diamond Ferrari collection “ tomorrow———
Mona has been outside hardening the paint job!
Miss Embassy’s certainly testing my limited abilities——— but, it’ll be alright on the night.
Have to admit, you’re a clever old sod with the phoggies Fuji !

Watched the US Grand Prix from Austin with Sam my youngest—— first GP I’ve watched in two years ! Nothing’s changed——— everything is orchestrated——— keep the title chase going as long as possible. Without Ferrari there wouldn’t be much going on would there?
Title race was over three races ago——- but they couldn’t afford to let that happen——- be interesting to see what stunt they’re going to pull in Mexico!
Try Vettel wins——- Hamilton DNF——it keeps the series alive for another step—— ???
Good morning peeps——- I woke up again today—— have a ton of things to do—— nose to the grinder today——- many things to do in the next three weeks———- that’s when I leave, three weeks today!

Begonias are on the last knockings——- they have been magnificent this year.
Tore up the sweet peas , composted the bed ready for spring!
Plenty of Roses —— getting their third crop of the year.
Everything is winding down, ready for winter.
Time to plug in the fan heater——- fingers were going numb in the shop today!
Just seen a “MODEL” offshore boat made by Graham Stephens—— spellbinding !———- maybe I should throw myself off’n a thick pile carpet and lock up the shop !!!
Still, shall be bringing a few of my concepts to Tavares for the old farts to ponder over.
Was a tad ambitious today——- had this idea of a transom with an Arneson and all the trimmings!
Had to start it like “yesterday” while it was still fresh in my mind——— was noon before I was even half
way through getting all the bits turned up !

Bob—— you are fallible——- all of the cars are Ferrari’s——- ( unless somebody switched them when I wasn’t looking)
Stand is a bit unique——- pinched the idea from Goodwood, but geometry is all mine.
Will do some clearer piccies———- there’s some pretty smart turning and fernagling gone into that piece———— not everyday you get half a dozen barn find Ferrari’s hung from a skyhook!
Did have to make up a bigger base———- the whole thing had a habit of “TEETERING “ now it’s fine———- you could leave it out in “MICHAEL” and it would still be there after it went through.
You know what—— you have sown the seeds of doubt ! Now I’ll have to check it out—— but when I’m done I’ll give a shout—— to prove I’m not a twat ! BOOM BOOM——. It’s the way I tell ‘em???

Had a problem with the Arneson——— dreamed up a solution and had to get on it before I forgot it.
Solved the problem—— then had to leave the shop to get to the Yacht Club in time for lunch!
Was a fair to middling lunch——- both my sisters were there which was a nice surprise.
Did manage a couple of hours in the shop——— volume of work is a bit overwhelming at the minute, need to get something finished and then stick to one job at a time
Made a mounted transom——— my version of a surface drive——- hoping to do the trim tabs with rams—— might be a tad ambitious—just have to see how the cookie crumbles.!

Made both trim tabs——— and the rams——— quite chuffed with myself——- life in the old dog yet——May have lost a few revs off’n the top end——- but there’s still a bit of grunt left —— given the gun!,,,,
Talked to Parkinson today——- Rick Mackie asked him for some facts about FONDA——- so Parky called me.
I got a dozen each of the FONDA news letters printed——- if anybody wants copies, ask me at Tavares—- when these are gone——— there will never be any more !

I have everything I need and more besides——- and, if I bought anything—— I have nowhere to put it!
Out to lunch again today—— “The flying fish “ again —— been told the chefs back, let’s hope it’s better jock than last time.

Transom started out as a skanky lump of one inch shuttering ply———- after all my best efforts—— it still looked like a skanky chunk of shuttering ply——- so I gave it a coating of five mm alluminium —— polished it, and then just thought it out from there. Lasse, I apologise most profusely for not spelling your name right—— that’s unforgivable——- I abhor bad spelling, there is no excuse for it—— believe me when I tell you, I have always known how to spell your name.
Have to tell you LASSE, I have always been outspoken and critical all my life——— if I have something to say, I say it..
Consequently, I have fallen out with an awful lot of people in my life, simply because I didn’t agree with them.
If I see something on a thread that I think is good, I’ll praise it—— if I think it’s a load of crap then I’ll say so—— this is nothing new, I’ve done it all my life. Brought up five great kids using the same doctrines
Dont give me any of that old nonsense, and I quote: I NEVER HAVE ANY OPINIONS ABOUT THIS THREAD—— that’s a load of old cobblers and you know it.
So, you have been to Lake X many times ? Me—- I have been there only once—— flew in with Pruett.
Cant quite understand why you posted a piccy of you and the Burgess OZ with a V8 Rude on it——- you were never as successful in one of those as you were in an OE—— you were a world champion many times in the 850 classes! In fact Lasse—— you were the yardstick all the others tried to emulate !
Just one more thing my friend—— I do enjoy life—— every single hour of every single day——- always have.
Try to cram as much as possible in—— create things—- live life to the full—- make friends—- ?
I made eighty six years up to now Lars—- I still enjoy SOME of your posts—— and I’ll still buy you a drink in Tavares—— AND I’m still your friend—- Jackie!

Sorry Keith, who and what are the Jacksonville Jaguars? Sounds like a gang of hairy arsed bikers to me ! Wembley is the venue for all sorts of things these days——- long ago it was for football( native style) —- speedway—— athletics—- rock concerts etc.
Nowadays it’s just a money spinner !

Did an hour in the shop this morning——- as much as I could manage—— temperature’s Just above freezing and I’m damned if I can remember where I put the fan heater for safe keeping ——- it’s only a little 750W puffer, about six by six inches——— bloody leprechauns are having a game with me AGAIN!
Put another coat of white on the turbine—— remind me to never again join five bits of timber together to make a hull. When you come to shape it all out, there’s bloody end grain and disfigurations at every stroke, in the end you have to coat it with ten coats of hammerite and it’s still rougher than a witches tit.
In future I’ll make sure the woods big enough and of a decent quality to justify making a Powerboat!
Her majesty has gone in for a scan this morning——- apparently Sunday’s are for those without a life threatening condition !
We had Lizzie for the last 24hours—— she’s coming up four in February and is great company—— currently teaching how to read and write and simple arithmetic——— using the dice in “snakes and ladders”, a good way to get em to recognise one to six instantly.
jackiewilson
10-28-2018, 07:42 AM
Just in case any any of you are wondering what little Lizzie looks like——— here she is all three years and eight months of her..
Only Reason Im rambling so much is , Jilly is long overdue from the hospital——- of course, I’m not worried at all———- I simply have to do things when she decides she’s going on her own! 421952

PS I might be in Hong Kong in a few weeks with a few blokes that know you, racing vee bottoms, just saying
Sad to say it’s probably going to happen Pilgrim——as my sainted mother used to say——-- “where’s there’s no sense there’s no feeling”—— Racing doesn’t have to be barges with truck engines—— look no further than the hydros!
Was Racing flat bottoms before the vees——- if you want to beat yourself to death whilst racing—— jump into a V bottom!
I try to keep a low profile when I visit Hong Kong—— don’t know many folk there!

Good luck in the game Keith—— Im just a cranky old bastard who thinks most sports above tiddlywinks and shovehappeny are fixed— bent and corrupt—- money orientated?———- boat racing is the only sport that there was never enough money in , in the first place to warrant trying to “ FIX” it..

My eldest grandson Ben came to see me today with his eldest son Max. Max plays out of the Brighton and Hove Albion Academy ( soccer) ——- he had just won this afternoons game against Bognor Regis 3-2. He’s all of twelve years old.
I tell you this simply so you understand that the sporting tradition continues ——-
My sons eldest boy Craig has four world offshore titles to his name——- he has three boys set to follow him !
All these boys differ from me in the fact that they are all quiet—— nice people who go about life minding their own business—— just getting on with things that are important to them.
Another of my grandkids, George, resides in San Francisco and is into “Prosthetics” —— but state of the art, futuristic limbs that are almost magical.
Me myself am from the old school——- I don’t do perfect plastic replica models from a computer——- I take either a slab of metal or a chunk of wood——- knock the crap out of it until it resembles a “Concept” !
But, I’m content with life——- ????

Two weeks today and I’m off to the USA——— watch out, watch out, there’s a limey about!
Really looking forward to the trip——— need some “quality” time with my family.
The three great grandsons are growing at a rapid rate of knots—— being stateside I Dont get to see them as often as I’d like.
Mark and Craig won’t let me see the new stuff coming out of the plant——- frightened I might just cobble a concept that gives the game away before they’re ready to show the world.
Lots of exciting stuff going on—— new P1 almost ready——- A fifty foot tunnel with the most wonderful carbon lay up I have ever seen. That’ll be announced at the Miami boat show in February.
Advanced safety cell development—— loads of secret sh-t that I’m not allowed to say!
Time to greet the day—- talk later!

You’ve all heard me talk about her indoors—— her who shall be obeyed at all times—— the kitchen goddess—— her majesty and lots of other Nom-De-Plumes !
Well, on a Thursday she works at the local hospice shop along with other volunteers—- she made friends with a little old lady who has a bird table that needs fixing—— not much money there—— would I have a look at it ?
Had that uncanny feeling this was not going to end well right from the off !
Knew there was going to be trouble when she chugged up the drive in a Renault Twingo—— hideous bit of kit—- only thing below it in the pecking order are 2 CV’s and FECKIN V Dub beetles.
She pulled out this chewed up and spit out bird table the vikings left behind—— In five pieces—— what the weather hadn’t destroyed—— the weevils had buggered—— what bit they hadn’t touched the bloody squirrels had finished off!
Dont worry Mary—— Jack’ll Fix it for you won’t you darling ?
It’s only a small shop—- nowhere to run—— nowhere to hide—— besides Jilly is much more athletic than me, I never would have made the pub even!
Tried to make some sort of sense out of a deceased bird table that passed away but didn’t fall over !!
There was no sense to be made out of said item——- so much worm in it, if I put into the stove—— those tungsten tipped weevils would bore through the stove in under a minute.
Easiest way out is to simply make the old girl an all singing and dancing brand fire new, three bedroom, detached residence for winged things.
I sorted out the materials!!!

Three hours to make a sodding bird table——— trouble is—— it’s all metal—— nice piece of garden furniture, but the old biddy’s a traditionalist and wanted wood.
Remind me in future to just say no. I’m otherwise engaged.
Had a good morning —— Miss Embassy’s coming along nicely—— almost got it about right——- just used a bit of Artists licence on the turbine intakes and graphics——- but apart from that I’m quite chuffed with the piece.
Been thinking about Lasse’s comments —— But I still stick by what I said—— he does dwell in the past as far as Auntie Evinrude’s concerned, and without a doubt he milks the V8 series for all its worth.
Both him and Fuji tend to show lots of photos over and over again, and I don’t understand why ?
Yes, OMC did produce the V8 first——- maybe it was ahead of its time —- it certainly got binned for over thirty years.
V8’s are all the vogue now, that’s for sure —— OMC are no longer a force—— Evinrude struggling to survive——- Bigger companies than them have tried and failed with the Wankels.
Where did it all go wrong ? ——I’m not twisting the knife——- here we are in 2018 ——- a six month wait for new Mercury product——— that never happened before—— Mercury are still in there racing—- all over the world—— ! Amazing how they’ve always tried to play down just how important competitive racing was and still is for them !

AND OMC DIDN’T ???———C’mon Pilgrim——- The V8 Series was a totally unlimited—— uncontrolled and open ended Formula that killed off racing and OMC.
Started out as a three litre limit and in two years reached four and a half litres——— cost five million—- although chunks of that was not spent where it should have been.
Fact is—— any racing that’s not vintage is Mercury powered today——- engineered or not——all classes—- circuit and offshore—— and the company looks healthy !

Yes, OMC did a Merc and pushed everyone out with the V8.
BRP is healthy and bigger than Brunswick even before the fitness stuff sold off.

Wow Pilgrim—— you do have a serious problem with Mercury don’t you?
No, OMC did not do a Merc, they did an OMC and pushed everyone out !
i was not comparing BRP with Brunswick——— I was putting Mercury up against OMC.
F1 world wide series and Tim Seebold’s IOGP Series looked to have the “blacks” on the transom to me.
I know for a fact P1’s have Mercs on them——— ?

almost all true
Brunswick will be an all marine company shortly, but yes a bit unfair to compare as BRP has skidoo's, sleds and 3 wheelers etc, so we will never be able to compare them.
sst45 is OMC only, fish motors and all race parts still available from Seaway, same engine for 30+ years
f1 Merc's are all vintage stuff now as blocks no longer made
F2 opti can still buy parts and assemblys
time F1 went 3.0 opti and 3.0 etec, just saying
Yes it did all go wrong after F1 pushed the 2.0 Merc powerhead out.
then it gets complicated as sst120 Merc is a 2.0 and not a f1 powerhead and there was sst100 OMC racing in stock class, then sst140 2.5 Merc
I'd say the 2 biggest classes left are sst45, stock class, F2 opti, stock class, must be a message in that?

each year they got lucky with calm water I guess?
Definitely not the case Pilgrim ——- most of the guys were set up for calm water—— I wasn’t—— that stood me in good stead.
In twelve days I won 22 trophies—— enough money to feed us all —— and enough gasoline ( which was free) to get back home.
Made some lifelong friends, and tasted my first Beluga caviar!
Was frogmarched backwards out of the Casino at Juan La Pins for not wearing a tie—— until Johnny Bloch told them I had one all the trophies——- then the Matre De found me a jacket and a tie.
All you have to do is win in France and you’re a celebrity!
I could even park the camper on the casino lawn with four kids asleep in it !
One time, further down the coast in Marbella ( when it was a tiny fishing village) George Kragge sank Koenigs boat during the race——— Dieter made him dive down —— tie a rope on it —- dry it out in time for the next day’s racing.
It really was very lumpy water for most of the races .

Decided to sell the wood lathe—— I haven’t even fired it up once in the last three years—— time for it to travel.
Hopefully this will give me enough room to benchmount the bender and the wire wheel as well as getting rid of all the things I’ve hoarded away in the last two years.
Walked out of the shop lunch time but couldn’t face the carnage this afternoon—- all projects are shelved until after the USA trip. It’s clean up and throw out time.
scrap bag has two drills,——Two sanders,——two angle grinders,—- two bench grinders—- one pillar drill —— one band saw—— a dozen spokeshaves ——- a Tormek system for sharpening——— and that’s after just one morning!422621

A lot of carbon on display this year—— chairs, tables, lockers, all that sort of thing—— maybe a safety cell !
Ill try and get the shop cleared today——- Tomorrow, the guy who bought the wood lathe and various other tools and machines is coming to collect them——— should have some semblance of order restored soon.

Still gobsmacked by the number of old boat racers who think they’re still too young to be an old fart—- Bollocks—- you’re older than you think—- just accept the fact you were good yesterday but today’s today today!

Big day in Key West——— with the Final on Sunday for double points——— Mark picking me up from Orlando Monday evening, I’ll get all the details then!
Forgot to tell you—— after 8 years —— thousands of man hours—-Mark fired up the motors on his boat!——- if you’re going to Englewood after Tavares, .then you might get to see this wonderful creation
Craig just called from Keywest—— the stall is all set up——- there’s eight “CONCEPTS “ on display including the number six drive ( has a $500 price tag ) you never know——- some drunken enthusiast might take a fancy to it.
Saving myself for tomorrow for a final onslaught on the workshop——- it has to be finished and ready for action on my return. I don’t want to even think about the shop whilst I’m on vacation.

As I grow older, the “KENETIC” Formula comes into play more and more ( for every action—- there’s a reaction)—— is it worth putting all that energy and effort into something that only gives me a modicum of pleasure ?

Many years ago
when I used to drive down to SWMF the Mercury distributors in Poole—— pick up a top of the line six cylinder in a cardboard box——— five kids would be waiting for Mark and me to lift the motor out of the box.
My kids could get a weeks fun out of one of those damn things!
Mercury have deprived a lot of kids, a lot of pleasure by shipping motors in climbing frames——— OR HAVE THEY ?
But, at $1800 a pop—— I think not——-?

If you went up the tower—— looked nice and fresh from the outside!,, —— but seventy years old from the inside!
People like Sirois and Odell were saying it felt like they were coming home ——- How ‘ bout That, after all these years.
I thoroughly enjoyed the visit, although I thought there might have been SOMETHING to show Mercury were involved in the project again.

Well—— that was it ! The 2018 OFF meeting !,,,, it’s over——— been and gone, Billy took me to my hotel——— Holiday inn express in Tavares! That was after he made sure Stickle was safely back in his room.
Its one thing being a world famous boat racer—— there’s been one or two of them through the years——- but to be that, and a quiet, modest, caring human being is quite another thing altogether—— if you ever got to know Seebold, you should count yourself lucky——— he’s as rare as rocking horse sh-t.
I am one of the fortunate few——- I met him 49 years ago in Havasu——— over many years I got to meet his family —— he got to meet mine.
Then I met some of his friends——— he met some of mine—— his kids—— my kids——- after nearly fifty years I can turn around and say——- yeah—— me and Billy are good friends!
Bill Seebold——- Mr Bill——-Billy—— will be wandering around the pits today——— make the most of it—— take time out to say hi while you can.
One day, you may be able to say to your great grandchildren “I once shook hands with Billy Seebold, one of the greatest boat racers of all time”.

Ten thirty pm and I’m ready for sleep at the Seebold house in Naples——- as always, Lynne had a hot meal ready and waiting soon as we walked in the door.
Billy did all the driving of the 245 miles——- he did have to stop for a leak around the halfway mark.
Been a memorable sort of day———- walked out of my bedroom door and there opening the door opposite me stood Brownie ! Now we have never actually stopped and talked before—— (although I’ve seen him at several of the OFF meetings)———- siimply said “hi Brownie, you got one of your books with you”? He said come on in—— that was it——- we talked for nearly an hour——- shooting the world of Powerboats.
In the end, he GAVE me a signed copy of his book “Tales from Thunderbird Row”——— thank you very much Brownie, so nice to talk to you!
By ten thirty, I’d had enough of vintage boats——- spoken to all the old farts once again—— Stickle was keen to get back to Tennessee——- Seebold was all done and ready to go, so we started to leave?
First, had to say goodbye to “STAVROS”——— Roger Hinsdale and Margo—— Rich Luhrs with no Doreen—— Ted and Kevin Boyd—- Rayner Blair and girl friend ( could have stayed a while longer and got to know her better)——- Mark Rathermell ———-
Odelle had just left so I couldn’t say goodbye——- and I couldn’t find any trace of Gene and his boy Doug—— was sorry about that.
Thought we should have a last drink at the tiki bar and a pound of hot shrimp and who do you think walked in the door with his wife and the dog ? TED JONES——- was finally going on four before we hit the road.
Farewell Tavares!

Slept really well—- but I have another hectic day before me——- going up to Englewood to watch the final day’s racing.
Understand Gieco just narrowly managed a win—— let’s hope they got over their problems and do it better today.
I have really mixed feelings on Tavares——- nowhere else ever, will you meet a collection of boat racers like it!
They come from all corners of the earth to be there———— for some, it’s the last gathering before the departure. I sincerely hope it continues, but my gut feeling is, it’s on the decline.
Every boat racer in the world is growing older—— fact of life. Where else can you meet the “Living legends” and those that almost were in one place? Well I’ll tell you———- at the OFF meeting in Tavares !
For those that didn’t make it——- try harder next year—— and even then you’ve missed the boat on seeing some of them!

No question about it Don, the old days were the best!
Billy came up to Englewood and watched the last race——- Gieco strolled it, winning by a comfortable margin.running long and strong at around 175 mph on the straightaway, for once all the bits held together.
Lou and Gary drove me back to Marks place——— no other feeling like driving home after a good win, just something about contentment——- job done——satisfaction. Lord knows I’ve driven back home often enough with a trailer full of bits——- or a broken motor ! Different feeling altogether.
It had been a long weekend——- lots of celebrations—— lots of sadness——- came away knowing damn well I will never again shake hands with some of my old friends——- felt very emotional and melancholy—— never ever been depressed in my life—— but last night, I came close.
Hugged my son tight when I said goodnight——- I don’t know why? I just felt I had to. I look at him and know his mother and I did a bloody good job !
Been here a week——- one of the main reasons for coming is over and done with—— the lakeX visit and Tavares, that all went well. Next up is the launch of Marks boat Tomorrow Tuesday—— then , the shakedown trials——- then it’s party time—— thanksgiving——- family time, then more party time!
Im usually homesick after a week away from Jilly and home——- But there’s so much to look forward to this coming week——- it hasn’t hit yet!
Ive got enough material to keep this thread running until the new year——- guess you’re stuck with me a while longer!
Was amazed how many folk came up to me and said “soon as I poured me a coffee, first thing I do is look on the TRICKS site”. Why the hell don’t more of you just post a reply——— I don’t care what you put, just so long as I know there’s a few folk looking !
Was really sorry Lassie and the Zumba queen weren’t at Tavares——— always loved discussing” things with Lasse ——— course, we don’t always see eye to eye——— but isn’t that what friends are all about ?.

Turns out that a 1968 18’ Molinari in the USA, went exactly the same speed as mine in the uk !
Another interesting fact ( I have the spread sheets to prove it) ——— a sixteen foot Critchfield, with an OMC 115 GT, driven by Jim HUNT and Jeff Titus was quicker than a Molinari with a 1000 BP, driven by Odelle Lewis and Wayne Vicker’s !!
You couldn’t make this sh-t up if you tried——— but here it is in the neatest handwriting you could wish for!
C’mon Jim—— I need a little input here once in a while—— Vicky will have long forgotten these findings.

If Butler had been with the old farts during the visit to lake x——- he would have had a seizure——- the only boat there, was powered by a V eight “Rude”——-with a good looking gearcase and a very interesting saddle indeed.
Mercury were noticeable by the absence of anything Mercury ? Question begs WHY?
OK, I’ll accept the Rude was there for —-“evaluation” purposes——- but sod my old britches, do the hierarchy in fon du lac think the old Merc guys are stupid and don’t notice anything at all?

Time to wake up guys! got a small scout here too. with a yami. pretty damn good reliable motor and does what it's suppose to. I thought mercury was pretty smart using some yami blocks for their small engines. You hit the nail on the head with your marketing comment. mercury who? Majority have been buying boats off the dealers floor now for 30yrs. anyway not having them custom rigged, maybe advertising $$ are best spent on lunchs so engineering has to make more HP to haul lard asses around!

Can’t make up my mind whether I lost a day or simply got off the roller coaster for a while ?
Truth is, I went around the golf course for nine holes with Sam and Clive——- had a couple of drives and sank a few puts. First time in a year and a half——- and it showed !
Then took my Ken Follett book, A Dangerous Fortune, sat by the pool for an hour reading —— then immersed myself for over two and a half hours. Can’t remember the last time I took time out like that—— stepped off life’s slide—— I need it to slow down a little so I can tuck my shirt in and pull my pants up——- tighten my belt and stride into the future feeling like I can take it on!
There will be those of you who will wonder what the hell im talking about——— but most of the old farts will have figured it out right from the off.
Meloncholy feeling that I had after Tavares has finally gone—— I’m back with my family and comfortable!
Theres a few “issues” with Marks boat—— after eight years —- the trailer that it was supposed to sit on was pulled out of the undergrowth, only to discover it was deceased—— dead—— it’s a has been trailer——- it is no more—— rusty—- rotten to the core —— Boot Hill fodder ?
Now it’s not every day you launch a fifty foot boat—— but this is florida—— lots of marinas — launching ramps—- boat transporters———— forgot just a teeny little thing——— ITS THANKSGIVING!

Geez,
What about me, I even kissed your forehead at the dinner Friday night. I guess being the only other manufacturer represented leaves me on an island. LOL

Been a great thanksgiving weekend so far——- Stevie Curtis was there to share it with the family so naturally we got to talking about stuff that happened over fifty years ago—— the London Club—— Cowes Torquay—— Paris——— Havasu——-188th Street. Went on well into the night.
Early start and the launch of Marks boat after 8 years in the making—— great day that so nearly ended in tragedy———
Launch was text book———- she was propped well down—— this was the initial shake down——- testing the kit——— looking for leaks, which there wasn’t any———-ran close to fifty without much effort with 150 gallons of fuel and a dozen people on board.
Cadillac came out of hibernation for the event, so I gave him a right royal roasting for his non attendance of the old farts gathering.
Both him and Stevie stayed on for the launch party—— everybody went home leaving Mark and Vicky—— Sam and Clive and yours truly, to wander back down to the jetty where “MOONLIGHT LADY” was moored.
Full moon and all the lights on——— the boat really did look the part—— Mark was helping Vick to step from the dock onto the boat, when she didn’t make the Gunwale and dropped straight down into the water fully clothed and went under——- Mark jumped in and managed to pull her to the surface——- Clive and Sam pulled her on to the dock.
We lowered the back door—— Mark swam round the boat and clambered aboard!
Everyone was well wet, but that was it——-
On reflection, we should have known that after 8 years in the making——— launched on .”Black Friday”
under a full moon——- after perfect sea trials God had something memorable planned!

After a full nights sleep ——— the full horror of what nearly happened finally sank in. Whole episode Probably took less than five minutes, but seemed like an eternity.
Boat weighs in at twenty thousand pounds, fifty foot long, just two bumper bouys and moored up nicely——- space between dock and boat, no more than ten/ twelve inches——- how the hell could that happen ? But it did.
Boats moored up at Fort Pierce——- had planned a run down to the Keys, whether or not it will happen I don’t know.
Last two days of my time in florida——- I always enjoy being here—- Catching up with my kids and grandkids, old friends, the OFF people!
Florida is undergoing massive changes——- at the moment, it’s like a building site with a road through it——— the world and his granny are moving here, plus the “snowbirds”—— shudder to think what it’ll be like in fifty years !

Checking the gyro——- generator——- air con—— ballast tank—— priming hot and cold water etc, all systems go, including the loudest sound system on the planet.
Six inch stainless exhausts do seem to suggest we are going faster than we really are !
Tv and fridges aok, Bow thruster—-toilet and shower—— all functioning as they should—— surface drives were no problem GPS and STS radio all checked out—— Taking the boat down to the house Tomorrow—— has her own dock on the inter coastal.
That will be the last of the shakedown trials.
Vicky seems to be none the worse for her short nighttime swim—— she doesn’t recall any of it though!
So sad she doesn’t even remember me any more !
Tomorrow is my last day ——- I fly out of here Monday evening with “NORWEGIAN “
Crammed a great deal into the two weeks——- be glad to get back home to Jilly and Lizzie, Indiana and Murphy——- last but not least—— my beloved workshop. Place where I make all the nonsensical concepts.
I do have an all singing and dancing 3D printer to play with, should help me improve, and finish objects .

Do have a face That resembles a rhesus monkey’s arse, when on heat,——- that’s a bit of florida sun and wind over water burn methinks.
Did the lock on the inter coastal Ok—— then did a couple of runs past Cadillac’s place——- there he was to wave us through! Then he came by the house to help moor up the girl for the night, then of course he had to stay for dinner.

I put in for one of them 1000bp engines. with the help of my boss, tommy hagood, billy steele, and odell lewis, I think I got the first one in the southeast. mercury had me bring my boat to the lake to pick up my engine and set it up as there was a race coming up in Jacksonville and omc had dominated region 5 the previous year. after making several test runs, they didn't think the speed was good enough. after much discussion, odell and mr k decided we would take the engine off the Critchfield and put it on a McCall neeldown boat that they had. the speed was better so they decided I would run it in jax. this was my first time in a tunnel. after the jax race, after winning 8 of the 10 heats in 5 classes, it was decided I would run the McCall at the next race in key west. when i stopped at the lake to pick up the boat, as i was leaving i just happened to look down the runway and who did i see? none other than jeff titus with omc powered Critchfield. now, you ask, what is he doing here? i figured it out sunday morning. while standing in the pits, here comes jeff titus with his Critchfield with a brand spanking new 1000bp setting on the transom. that is why there are test sheets with both merc and omc on the Critchfield. hope this wasn't too boring but i couldn't figure how to explain it any other way.
From what I remember Dad telling me about this event... Jack Leek told Jeff it was okay to go try the bp, just don't let "them" look at the GT115. They removed the OMC and left it hanging on a hoist, dad covered it with a blanket and asked them to leave it alone. When he returned from running the bp, he saw Carl and others had removed the blanket and were tinkering. Dad got angry, but the bp ran better so he wasn't too angry.
Jim - I think I recall that you told Jeff years later that you were there that day but stayed out of site. That sound right??

From what I remember Dad telling me about this event... Jack Leek told Jeff it was okay to go try the bp, just don't let "them" look at the GT115. They removed the OMC and left it hanging on a hoist, dad covered it with a blanket and asked them to leave it alone. When he returned from running the bp, he saw Carl and others had removed the blanket and were tinkering. Dad got angry, but the bp ran better so he wasn't too angry.
Jim - I think I recall that you told Jeff years later that you were there that day but stayed out of site. That sound right??
no ron, i was not at the lake at anytime that jeff or the omc engine was on the lake x property other than the time i saw jeff at the end of the runway as i was headed to key west as stated in the other post.

Was really pleased all you guys used the site while I was away——— that’s what it’s for—— OLD RACERS !
Let me tell you about my last weekend in Florida———- Boat was finally launched in Fort Pierce—— Cadillac finally showed up, so I gave him both barrels, Stevie Curtis and Gary Stray went on the shakedown. Boat turned out 500 lbs lighter than estimate——— speed was better than expected with small test wheels. Fuel consumption was far lower than estimated——— daresnt tell you in case I get arrested by the secret sh-t police !
Weather was perfect for the run down to Stuart where the boat is now docked.
Caddilac was there at the house to help us moor up———- he stayed for dinner ( which is not like him, he always has the itch to leave).
Told me he would buy me breakfast before I left Monday——- Turned out to be another of those memorable days that come out of the blue—— out of nothing.
He collected me from the house around eight and we headed down to “Cracker Barrel” where Gary and Lou were waiting for us.
After they left for Gieco—— Cadillac and me headed for his place on the inter coastal, He wanted my opinion on a work of art —— forty foot high and weighing in at umpteen tons!
He then launched a beautifully restored old tug boat ——- some eighty year olds pride and joy, asked if I’d like to go to the delivery destination ( which I’ve forgotten) , had to decline as I had a plane to catch that evening.
Then a tour of the estate—— everything from Apache, Bertram, Donzi, in various states of collapse, to Magnums—— Dutchmen—— Russian Volga foils, a paradise for any old fart.
Then we went shopping———honest to Murgatroyd—— Caddy is crazy as a loon when it comes to eating out and shopping. He knew personally every female in Bealls store !
Then we went to Ellie’s shack for a light lunch ( If you can call three Angus burgers a light lunch).he had all the waitresses ( and the female customers eating out of his hand)
If you ever want a fun day in your life——- I recommend a day with caddy Mac. You will remember it for the rest of your life.
Bade a fond farewell to Florida and my friends——- not before my son Mark had me upgraded to first class——- massive difference in comfort between cattle class and first !
Been home 24 hours with laryngitis.—— sore throat and a nasty cough——- can’t face the shop just yet.
Have three cashmeres on, but I’m still FECKIN cold !

Poked my head round the shop door, looks neat and tidy, ready for the three Dee . Backed out when the first icicle formed on the end of the proverbial snotter!
Off to get measured for my new hearing aid——- was laying prone on the first class easy chair—— just nodding off——- took out the deaf aid and stuffed it down my shirt front for safe keeping——-woke up busting for a tinkle—— forgot all about the device——- shirt must have pulled out of my belt because the damn thing went down the crap sucker at a rapid rate of knots. End of.
Sucking strepsils like a Hoover on a thick pile carpet——- haven’t kicked in yet, but it shouldn’t be long.

Jackie, I must apologize for bringing that terrible VIRUS to Florida. Good to hear that you are still operating on a few cylinders. Have you been able to kick Gene's Red Bird Flu?
Surprising to hear that Caldwell is still around. I thought they had silently slipped into the deep abyss. It will be very interesting to see how they fare in Abu Dhabi with the big boys.
Have you been keeping up with 7 Marine's 627 engine? It is a supercharged 376 cu in V-8 mounted in an outboard configuration putting out 627 hp on pump gas. I have attached the web information below.

I have no doubt that, based on what has happened over the last few years, we will see a V-10 sandwiched into an outboard that will be pushing 1000 hp. I am sure that engineers are already working on it. The down side is the weight. The 7 Marine 627 engine weighs 1094 pounds. I will take the old inline 6 anytime. They don't have near the power, but they ran all day on a song and a dance and required almost no maintenance.

Looking at the Caldwell pricing below, I assume that the kits do not include the crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons, seals, bearings, fuel system and ignition. Do you think that a complete power head would be in the $55K area? Then you still have to mount it on a Mercury mid with a lower unit and a cowl. Perhaps about $70K for a complete running engine? So now you have to decide if you want to shell out $70K for a Caldwell, $79K for a 7 Marine 557 or $90K for a 7 Marine 627...
SR Block kit
Block, crankcase, heads, divider plate, water cover kit, gasket set, brackets, and bolt kit.
$19,300.00
CR Block kit
Block, crankcase, heads, divider plate, water cover kit, gasket set, brackets, SVS intake, reed cages, reeds, plates and bolt kit.
$30,995.00

It don’t take a SHERLOCK HOLMES to see it’s painted in Abu Dhabi team colours—— maybe Guido might give it a last fling——- it would have to be something special in the time trials——— Stark and Torrente want reliability above all, so neither of them will risk a powerhead swop this late on in the season!
So, it boils down to a fairly quick person who can be blamed for “ inexperience” if it don’t come up to muster———- tricky——- a blow over—— more acceptable than a rod through the side—— if it don’t look like a podium finish, sink it, ——— “Better to have loved than” ————- you get the idea—— It’s not easy being blue and there’s no place to hide anymore——- cards have been dealt——- you just have to play the hand, best you can !
Would love to see you wipe the floor with “em Caldwell ——- But, you playing with the big boys now——- it only happens in dreams and comics, fantasies and wistful thinking——- I speak from experience.
Anyway, in the unlikely event of an upset, you will find an army of beaurocrats, queuing up, all waving the UIM rule book, screaming unfair——— each holding a €100 note !

Going through three snot rags and two boxes of man sized Kleenex each and every day——- still feel like sh-t, but my snotter’s clean !
First time IN thirty years I’ve been relegated to the spare bedroom ! It’s lonely at the bottom.
Never made the shop again today———- tomorrow doesn’t look much better either.
Only three weeks until the shortest day——— and then. It’s a downhill run !
Illnever ridicule “NORMAL” again !

Got me an idea Gene——— we might be able to get something out of the ashes of the “ORRIBLE ANOVER” flu bug !
Just have to find a way of EXTRACTING!
You know anyone in marketing and packaging ?
If your anything like me Gene , you will have mountains of used Kleenex and a bucket full of linen and cotton handkerchiefs !
We could revolutionise the adhesive industry———-SNOOKER GLUE”———- and “SNOTTFIX”——-There Must be a couple of unemployed ex Mercury publicity boys—— seeking a new career in an environmentally friendly SNOOKER SNOTTY FIX CAMPAIGN?
You May gather from the ramblings I had another great “coughing the night” away experiences.
Over a week since I poked my head through the workshop door———- if I don’t get back in there afore long———- there’s everychance ill have forgotten HOW”————- next time I look in There it will probably be a potting shed.!
Warm, wet and windy just about sums up the weather——— free practice in Abu Dhabi about now!———-
See the Tory MP’s have stabbed the Prime Minister in the back and hung her out to dry ——— what a bunch of worthless wankers ,
Trumps about to throw his dollies outa the pram and start a trade war with China———— just watch the $ drop——— he’ll ubdo all the great things he’s done these last two years !
My sainted mother used to say “ Never get involved in another countries politics——- unless you want your balls shot off”. ——- she was a wise od biddy!

Put it down to the “Hanover” Flu.

A great idea, Jackie!! And I have just the person to market and retail our product!!
Guess who?? Karin!
https://www.karinsofbeavercreek.com/
Any one that can sell a custom 'tissue box' for over $180.00 can market anything!
I credit my recovery to the fact that my KLEENEX are disbursed from one of these tissue boxes
I have just the unemployed ex Mercury Engineer in mind to partner with---Bernie
Snotfix?---I love it!!

Don’t buy a house in “ HONFLEUR “ on the strength of SNOTFIX——— you need to talk to Bernie first.
Damned if you might not be bang on with Karin————- there is a collection of all the totally useless stuff I never wanted for Christmas in the first place !
KARIN OF BEAVER CREEK ???——Gene, I tell you——— you couldn’t make this stuff up——— to think—— there’s actually a whole Creek full of them !!!!!
I shall prepare to my bed with a smile on my face tonight, ( will still be coughing my ring up)
I have it on good authority from across the pond——— the coughing and spluttering and hoiking should be over by Sunday.

Was going to tell you about the new boat Mark and Craig are in the process of constructing—— 44’ Twin hull .
Will be under the ICONICS “DONZI” label.
Ive known about it for a while now, but was threatened with a slow and painful death should I ever even think about putting a picture out on the “ Tricks” site.
Reason I say WAS——- Lassie did a number on it on his EVINRUDE FACTS AND FIGURES OF OMC 1970 race engines ?????
Article is taken from a trade magazine and reprinted on the RUDE site, so you might as well just click on to Lassies site——— saves me putting it our thread.
Heres a piccie of the deck——- just after it was “pulled”. !424945424946424947424948
Last picture is specially for Mike Butler——- Brand fire new——— take notice Mike, I’ll remind you in February——— when it’s on it’s way to the Miami show.
Last item of interest————eight men can carry the whole deck——- no flexing !

One step at a time Crisis——- That was taken just about a month ago, Craig threatened to Chuck the Lieca in the bin if I put anything on the Tricks site——— still haven’t been told officially I can publish.
I saw it first on Lassies Rude thread—— taken from a trade journal!
What the hell its got to do with Facts on OMC from the 70/s does baffle me a bit I must confess———- but then again——- so does six piccies of VOLARE , when one would have done nicely!
Still——- no such thing as bad publicity I suppose.
Maybe you can tell me my boy——— I have a few hundred pictures taken at lake x and Tavares——- tried to download them onto my iPad which suddenly had a dickey fit——— telling me there’s no room left———- yes ido have iCloud——- trick is to put the piccies where I can get at em——- any Ideas ?

Lassie you dumb asse ——— if I ever get mad at you—— then as sure as God makes little green apples——- you’ll know about it——— and remember it, the rest of your life !!!
Up to now—— you haven’t upset me in any shape or form.
I don’t always agree with the stuff you come out with ie; why only post one piccie of a boat—— engine —- or event, when I can print six of the same thing, again, and again, and again, and again——— (as long as it’s a “Rude”) ???
Your a free agent and not bound by the official secret sh-t act that I am——— otherwise I get a good thumping at best——— hung drawn and quartered at worst !
In truth—— I had no idea iconic were going to announce the new DONZI cat yet——— and I was over there last week.
Hull and deck had not been stitched together when I left——— hasn’t been painted yet——— but Ben is one of the best, so I don’t doubt the finished article will be one Something to remember!
I have a bet on with Craig——— he reckons he’ll have it running over 120 before Christmas——- I don’t reckon it’ll go through the traps before January 8/10th 2019.
You still trying to get Volvo to buy the remains of EVINRUDE Lassie ?
Have to tell you in all honesty———- the big “Rude” is the best looking of all the big ugly dump truck outboards !!!!
But the Japs are as ugly as a stack of assholes on a mud fence!

Seventy eight years ago today, the raid on pearl harbour took place.
It was probably the event that defined history over the next century or so.
Just take a look back to how the world was then——- and how it is today —— ?
Its hard to believe we won the war——-
Be back in a while—— need to take a shower —— been spending more time in bed than out !
Unfortunately —— that means I have time on my hands——- time to reminisce—- time to bitch and moan—— make a nuisance of myself in general.

Sorry I didn’t get back to you, best laid plans of mice and men—— all that sort of stuff !
Its very true you know—— folk over eighty divide their time into three phases, before-during and after the war !
Even though the Second World War ended over seventy years ago, I can still remember most things that affected my family and me.
From the minute I wake up ? For instance——- Jap TV in the living room—-Jap Canon camera on the table—-Jap I pad I switch on first—— Jap I phone I have in my pocket—Jap watch on my wrist.
I admire the Kawasaki of the kid next door as I climb into my Jap Lexus!
Not even ten minutes into the day——- most everything around me is Far Eastern——— how did that happen ?
This country of mine just about bankrupted itself fighting other people’s war——- how the hell did that happen?
Dont doubt for a minute my dad ever wanted to go to war——- but he did—— left a wife and two small kids ——— joined the RAF and made 36 ops over Germany——- lived to tell the tale!
75 years on the very people who we fought against——- those we fought for—— are united against us, simply because we voted to get our sovereignty back——-how did that happen.?
Never had any time For politics or politicians—— all the villains and corrupt organisations in the world hide under its banner——— stealing the wages of workers under the Tax label.
Talk about a modern “TROJAN HORSE”—— on reflection—— this did not happen overnight——-
Ah well—- I kinda got off the beaten track there for a while——- I was leading up to the fact that from being king of the jungle in the Outboard field———- USA is no longer——— the technology in ALL Motors is the same, be it American or Jap.
Just how did that happen———— I can tell you, if you were a citizen of Tokyo or Singapore or Shanghai and you wanted a yank motor———- there was a 200% import duty on it.
Fair trading ???——— Give Trumpers a free hand and he’ll get you a FAIR deal.
Thats enough for tonight——- but if you want to comment, please do, I’ll always exchange dialogue with you!

I finally fell asleep with my face in my laptop sometime in the early hours———- never hit the “Post quick reply” ——- had my first good nights sleep in ten days. Funny how these damn viruses hit you?
Really could do with getting into the shop today——— I have a brand fire new 3D printer to set up.
I have a head full of ideas, but first have to make Scotty B. An Aeromarine 111—— will try and get it done before Christmas.
Have no idea where I’m heading with the 3D—-hoping it can do propellers and gearcases—— I spend far too much time on them!
Also have a head full of ideas ——- getting a few ambitious projects——- whether they will ever come to fruition or not is anyone’s guess !
Today the kitchen goddess is doing a Christmas dinner for her side of the family——— Turkey would feed the whole street——- but I daren’t mention that!
Plum pudding to follow——- cheese and Port——- fruit and nuts—— just the regular Christmas blow out !
jackiewilson
12-08-2018, 05:16 PM
Well—— the Christmas dinner was a roaring success——— first class everything—— the turkey—- the stuffing—- cranberry sauce ——bread sauce— roast potatoes- carrots— parsnips— peppers—onions—sprouts. Nobody does it better !, only the English know how to do a traditional turkey Christmas dinner, and I’m fortunate enough to be married to the best chef I ever met.
Little Lizzie was told to stay from me as I had a bad cold———- she was having none of it, played with me the whole afternoon——— does it get any better than this?
Have the day to myself tomorrow—— maybe I’ll make the shop, with a bit of luck !

Look out Lynne——- hide the check book———- Billy’s looking at spending some serious Gelt on this new tangled TELEMETRY. Can even tell you when the throttleman needs to take a leak! Showing him how to read the print out is my Grandson —“- Ratbag “ ——- you all know him as Gary Stray——- head honcho at Gieco!
Just done a great deal with him——- Swopped the thirty cylinder Radial for a 3D printer—- plus a very neat midget compressor and gun——— and enough abrasive discs to last me a year !!
Its good to know I’ve still got it——- nothing like dealing or trading as some would call it—-I love it!

Was given a turkey and stuffing sandwich on malted whole meal for Sunday lunch—— managed two bites before I was throwing up ! Had enough turkey bird for this Christmas already and there’s still sixteen days to go.425175
this ones for you Gene——. ILMOR. Just got some award or other for developing this motor—— apparently it was used in a 182 Piper before they got hold of it —— it’s reckoned to be super efficient— Tavares and back on a tankful——- slight problem—— will probably cost a shilling or two more than thelump you have now——— but hey! What the hell, it’s only money——- Merry Christmas to you and Doug and the rest of the family——— Got some great pictures from Lake X ——- just Ned to find a way to download the blasted things.

Jackie, have you tried sending the pics currently on your Ipad to your cloud, clear them off the Ipad after you see that they are in the cloud, and then try downloading your camera into your Ipad. I am by no means a computer savvy older generation, but this might do the trick.

Thanks crisis—- my Grandson Simon is a real computer geek —— took him a couple of hours to sort it, but he got there in the end. Although he tells me seven thousand piccies on a 32 gig iPad Pro is taking the piss a little———- says I have to go through the lot and throw out 50%.
We then sat down and installed all the software into the Three D printer——— two hours and eight minutes later it produced its first offering ———- A perfectly formed two inch pussycat ????
FROM LITTLE ACORNS AND ALL THAT JAZZ !!!
Am currently searching for five and six blade race props——— then I have to learn how to size them—— then maybe number six and seven drives ——— a speed master——- maybe even an OMC gear case ————————????????.
