Yep, my dad, was a radio repairman, and when the TV came out, fixed those to. Born 1901. He had STACKS, old 78's, the "Big Bands", "Polka" the old first to show, "Country songs"..(Damn, what that old rip, "hobo's .."Something, something. I aint got no cigarettes"..I'll find it), .., and my older bro, by 10 years, I was born 1950, brother grew up in the 50's, "Do Wop, Elvis, Jerry lee, Chuck Berry, etc! Had stacks of old 45's! Sorry to say, all are gone now. stupid move..somewhere in a dump now.

I posted it on my Facebook too, thinking you and Sue would see it. The only thing is as now a sticky on S+F, seems unless subscribed to the thread..(which send ya a email, new post), when ya go to the lounge, it wont show new post there, or Forums home, "New post". At least on my end anyway. I'll have to ask Greg about something done there, but at the moment, I've bothered him enough already for now. I see stickys like on Fiberglassics, and if a new post, theres a red bubble there, with "NEW", in it.

No big deal, as at least the thread now won't go pages back, if no new post. Sometimes on a good rainy boring day, out in the shop, fun to just go back 100's of page's, and crank up something "forgotten!" Heck of a lot more fun than the "Daily BS "news"..! Rock on!;):thumbsup:

I have a old couple going through this..GREAT OLD FRIENDS, back in Illinois! Sad. Heres what I just got off one there kids. Some text him, and a song came to mind. Getting old sucks, maybe, that is if you didn't die young, or never had a "lifelong "Mate". Love yer friends, PARENTS!/SIBS..as might be gone tomorrow......off the kid today.
"A lot has changed since last talk with you. Mom in Hospice. Dad is in a rehab facility. Could not control him. Doctor says? Maybe a stroke?, maybe a heart attack?, urinary infection?, medicines?, dementia?, Alzheimers? What the ****??? Its been 2 weeks. He seems under control now. But thats just new medicine. I think he is so worried about my
Mother he is driving himself crazy! Yes, Friday he will be 87. I wanted to get him out of jail and bring him to my place, but the girls..(me..his daughters, 2 are nurses) have something else planned"

Damn oldies on the shop radio. I'm pretty sure, Elton John, wrote this about lovers, ..(And I care less, he was gay too, as he did a great song, off that piano, saw him many times live..)

But when I hear it again, reminds me of old friends, many killed stupid HS moves, on MC's , back in the 50/60/70's. The many shot dead in Nam, (seen that too damn personal too, 69).

Then old friends, got some dreaded "disease", died young, or suffered years, or decades, "cancer", but never gave up. Plus, I was married too, at one time. After Nam. Simple did not work, as we had different "thoughts, how life works". 2 years, seya..(and we are both doing fine, now 37 years later too.)

Why the hell I'm still knuckle dragging earth, is beyond me, at almost 62, and if was a"hold my beer moment?"....did WAY TOO MANY!

Seems daily, oldies on in my home/private shop, this played daily. OK by me! Don tried, doing a band, rock and roll, but gave it up, as was better with just him, a guitar, few in the background, chiming in. When he says the day the music died he's talking about the plane crash in 1959 that killed the big bopper, buddy holly and richie valens. He sang a great song, by just him. One the BEST he ever did too! And, some think it, "the day the music died", was in 64, JFK getting killed. NOPE!..it "was old 50's rockers!"

Damn, I got 3 days suspension, HS parking lot!, for lighting up a smoke in my car, as had to be at court a (1967, at 17 too), loud Muff ticket, on my old 650 Triumph! Darn right on Grand Funk! Grew up with those times, the band. I wish I
NEVER, got rid of, sold, lost, all the old vinyls..(and cassettes, 8
tracks, still have manyy though)! Little story here too. Old ski club
friend of mine, got cancer, battled it 20 years. Back in Illinois.
Almost had a private room, the Mayo Clinic, in Minnesota. But he

buddy Billy, "Captain", (Ride Captain Ride), as he always took his
bike to Mayo! Great times then, but i last time I saw Billy, back in
Illinois, 2006, he was still a "trooper", by himself, wife left him,
just him and his Golden Retriever. In a wheel chair, one leg gone,
just got out of brain surgery..(again)..cement skull cap on...died 6
months later. Just one those ya meet in life, had a great time with
him..(DAMN, could that kid snowski, when young! We were in the Chicago
Ski Club, the Sanctuary Ski club, the "Downhill Derelicts!" Great
bunch. Skied in "Monk Robes"...and wore the old, for kids, sold Radio
Shack, "Firemans helmets", flashing light on top, and the siren too.
Just to much fun. Thanks the "thanks", and another memory brought up,

More later, but bringing up some OLD, mems. As was in Nam, "Woodstock", '69, then back US, then Germany, out early 1971. Saw Deep Purple,..(never forget THAT day! Indoor , general admission...doors opened, just picked my feet up, "carried in with the crowd"..cooler fulla wine, beer, and EVERYONE had a "bowl of hash!..pass it on, lost, but a new one was "on the way!. 4 bands, Deep last...started at 2, DP, at 8.....and "Smoke?..(on the water)! Richie Blackmoor RULES!. Saw the Who, more then overseas..but my first live concert back home?

Damn, 4 us down to the Chicago Amphitheater, see Black Sabbeth. We are pretty well wasted..(duh)...but this band was the opener.."BLEW MY ASS AWAY!. And we had "contacts, bunch Italian. kids I hung with, got the best seats anywhere". Never heard such LOUD, but CLEAR sound ever! I was ready to pass out back in the car, ..but?..Ozzy..next.."Ironman"..and remember little after! Heres "WishBone Ash...(its not so much to me, the song, its where I was when heard it first!"..why I always.."got a story!"

Try this for a vid link that shows all. Probably your settings. On S+F...

Menu left side. Groups..click Forum Settings
Under My Settings, click General Settings

In General Settings, scroll down to Miscellaneous Options

Click the "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing"

Then scroll down and click save.

Now go to Youtube and any vid.
Click the "save". Left box is regular link. Click Embed
Under is link to show full, C+P that and post it. If its "Embedding disabled", then all ya can do is the other link

Damn, I remember when one nite..long ago..

And I KNEW Steve Dahl and his radio side kick Gary Myer...and the band.."teenage Radiation". I was there too here. Was supposed to be a double header ball game, but..fans went nuts, last game cancelled! Almost set the place on fire and cleaning up the outfield would sure take time. And then, beers sold on the way out, AFTER the game. None this sissy crap, "no alcohol after the 7th inning" They say a rain out, but BS...as the crowd was wasted, and .."lets party!"

WLS, AM radio...(Edit here as watching now again..about 3:40 min in the DC10 crash on take off O'Hare? Lost a engine..(TOTALLY), off the wing? I had just walked out of work at 3pm. We saw the big black smoke, fire, and said to each coming out.."Bet a airliner crashed" Yep. And I worked at Reynolds Aluminum then, Maintenance Machinist and at times sharpened "end mills', that put those "swirls on the wing skins, Boeing jets. We MADE the wing skins for that plane. NSTB/FAA was all over us later. But not our fault. (We took pride in our work then, QUALITY, as everything we made, some ones lifes was on down the line depended on it...and what we made" we took it serious too..)
