On Toga Partys. I Skied (snow).. with a club, "Downhill Derelicts", western Burbs, Chicago..and a better bunch to party with could never be found again. This was back late 70's/80's, and most still in touch, 40 years later..(still aint grew up!..3 of them live in Colorado now.. Ski Patrol dudes..). We DID WEEKLY..lets have fun...whitewater rafting summer, MANY partys, some one tossed, the W/E bus trips to the Wisconsin/Michigan,Ski trips.. barrels beer the bus, (we had a FAMOUS "KAZOO"...band)...and winter, spring, load 40 of us on a plane..(wasted and hungover from the "send off party"..those not going)..to the Rockies, Tahoe, who cares...condo's rented, 6 rental cars..just TOO MUCH INSANE FUN! Hers a few pix..our "Toga" party...(which lasted 3 days!):eek::thumbsup::thumbsup::p:cheers:

In that last pic, at Tahoe..thats me , bottom left, second in, black outer/red shirt "undies " .. with a white hat..and just right..is a girls "Fanny pack"..just right my head..showing the "finger"....as if you skied downhill at 60mph..she would blow by ya at 90mph! Insane bunch..but showed me times, and mems, I will die with...."ya gotta love the "Delelicts"!

My dad was an avid photog..(being a TV repairman might have had something to do with it)..man I'll tell, my brother..( Genealogy freak..has us way back to the 1720's!)..took all my dads old 16mm movies to VHS, now DVD's. My dad always had boats, and a real party crowd of friends. ...(the apple don't fall from the tree, huh?)...I have some shots him on grainy old vids, out at the Illinois Chain of Lakes in the 40's, before I was born, in his "Barrel Back" Chris Craft! Just too cool to watch..someday I will figure out how to get some on youtube. And yes, he got wasted at the famous "Blarneys Island", long before most us were born! Parked the boat at the "Last Resort", on Fox Lake. Wish I had that old Barrel Back!:thumbsup::D

A couple pix from long ago...(I get back to music here soon!)..
First is my dad and me, I was probably ..??. Its a 17 foot "Cruisers" , and I remember my brother (10 years older) had a Baby Switzer, with a 20H Merc! Seems my dad lunched O/B he had on the big boat, and as he could NOT go a weekend without a boat on the water! He took it of the Swit, stuffed it on the big boat, and I WISH I had a pic of THAT! Remember one day, my brother and his buddys were at the lake, with the boat, and they took ALL THE USED BEER CANS, AND LINED THE FLOOR WITH THEM, LIKE A CARPET! Me and dad go out next weekend, and was HE EVER PISSED OFF! Remember at about 10 years old, we went out the middle of the lake, and spent hours, sinking them..!:eek: Yeah, stupid, but back then, I guess we thought they would disappear, and probably did, as they were steel back then.:thumbsup:

Second is my first boat, 8 feet "Tender" for the big boat anchored out in the bay. 5HP Briggs vertical shaft, fixed lower unit, rudder...direct drive. Remember my dad letting me take it out. Gassed it, fired it, me life vest on, shoved me off, and I have aint looked back in 50+ some years! :cheers:

Last a "Amphicar"..he bought in 1964. The reason for the big flap over the back of the props, was to try and hide them, as when on the road, its was way too much an attention grabber! I remember one weekend, dad was at the lake, and mom had to drive the car out there. She could do easy.."three on the tree"..but was lost on a floor 4 speed! So, as I, at 15, and dad thought me, knew how. So she just drove, I'd say "Clutch".., and I would shift! And that "watercar", was too cool, out on the water. Riding around, honking the horn, putting the turn signals on for the many boats who followed ya...laying TIRE tracks, on beaches, that no way in hell a car could get to...DAMN..I had a gas with that...:p:p:p;):thumbsup:

Sorry if I get a little off base here, but "Great old songs"..bring up "Great old memories", but if I can get a smile off only one person a day, my stupid posting's...?...well, thats what life is all about, right! Not bragging any I done, as many have done way much more...but to share "fun stuff"..? ..I just can't stop...lifes a gas...(too bad its so expensive!).., comes with a lotta BS...but still pretty damn good..live today, remember yesterday, forget tomorrow..aint here yet..:thumbsup:

Its pretty simple in my .."book of life"..my mom taught me well...long ago, when I was a young..(er).. idiot...(still am), but she told me long ago, when I bitched something stupid, she told me straight out flat.."there are many people who have it a LOT tougher than you, sonny". I think Nam showed me that later, and it sure stuck..
She always told me.."don't ever think people with money, a good life, don't have the same problems in life, we all do. The best people you will meet in life, are the ones who know real life, see bad times, and if you.."got?"..."GIVE"..
Kinda run my life, ..Give if ya got it...ask zip,..(goes around, comes around!) never BS anyone, ignore those who do it too you, jerks are everywhere, ..BUT..never do a first impression...anyone, as they could be having a "bad day"....always be kind to anyone..(but..3rd impression?...still an idiot...?..flatten there nose with a roundhouse...they will soon "figure it out"..don't think for a second, I aint been knocked off a bar stool a few times, .."doing stupid."...and learned a lesson..QUICK!:eek::thumbsup:

Always a "shop Freak"...(out here now, gray/50's drizzle outside, fire going 70's in here..my "Sanctuary".. swear, my mom told me it seems I came out the womb, and soon, I was out playing in the garage. Going on for close to 5 decades!:thumbsup:...(funny..Stay"..a little bit longer, playing the oldies RIGHT NOW!:eek::p

Seems we got the housing thing all wrong too. Remember when a 1500SQ, with a two car garage was keeping up with the "Jone-es "?

Then went to 3000SQ, 3 car..then 5000, 4 car..?

AND none could get a car in the garage anyway, for the other junk?

Think we got it all wrong...

Build a 10,000 SQ garage/shop...FULLY EQUIPPED, THEN, an outbuilding...800SQ goodnuff..all ya need is a kitchen..L/R with a couch and a few recliners, big screen, john, couple small bedrooms..(all ya do is go horizontal anyway, and pass out..right?)...:eek::p:cool::D

Don't think it aint happening. Here, hear the radio, some ad, selling "Man Caves"...small condo's...with many SQ feet on site "Shop Condos"..for the many toys..heated, full everything! Condo just to get away from the shop a bit!:D

Think the guys with Planes, living "Air Parks"..own the runway, drive the plane to yer own hanger, by the house. Or the new places going up, private, for the race car drivers...HAVE THERE OWN PRIVATE racetrack!

BUT!....still think, and always will........."live on, or damn close..(like I can see it)...ANY WATER!:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::D

But I did find some good summertime fun, remembered, slide show with music, of some the crazies here South Puget Sound. Most here on the water, some Lake Chelan, other side the mountains, some down on the Columbia River, the S+F annual party. Leave ya for now, a little Journey..one my old girfriends simply loved them. And went to a concert back in the 70's. I was going to go, but her old man owned a resort on the lake, full bar, Chain of Lakes. Laura, or dad would run the bar, weekend nights..(packed..dead weekdays). Dad had to run to Chicago for a biz problem down there, and I ran the bar until closing that night instead. She came back about the time I was locking up for the night 2am. We are both pretty well..."happy"..(like wasted)..and we wrinkled the sheets until dawn! She was SO, turned on, Journey!
Youth, if done right, is not wasted on the young..gives us old farts something to remember!

HA!..never did a Karaoke night, and the last wedding recep I was at...well, I declined...but what I think a chicken getting strangled singing..?:eek:.."is great music to the death ears"?

All I do know...is the voice I hear, doing a phone recorder..aint what comes out the head..when heard. I got a gravely voice, a mumbler, if ya will!

Some got it, some don't, voice...but I'm damn good with a wrench, and a "hot foot!"!:thumbsup:

I'll leave tonite with this....this song, them..just has me "wetting" up the keyboard, and blurred monitor now.
