Any see the new PBS.."Stones and Muddy Waters? DAMN, I KNEW MUDDY! And
been .."The Checkerboard" south side "blues", with Rosie Kilbone..(sp)
IN THE 70's, and the only two white people there! And Rosie knew
EVERYBODY, anywhere..and not "welcome there?..HA! "come on in!" Decade
later, the Stones showed up, and they all "jammed"

On November 22, 1981, in the middle of their mammoth American tour,
the Rolling Stones arrived in Chicago prior to playing 3 nights at the
Rosemont Horizon. Long influenced by the Chicago blues, the band paid
a visit to Buddy Guy's club the Checkerboard Lounge to see the
legendary bluesman perform. It didn't take long before Mick Jagger,
Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Ian Stewart were joining in on stage
and later Buddy Guy and Lefty Dizz also played their part. It was a
unique occasion that was fortunately captured on camera.

Say them at Mad. Sq. Garden in 76, 8th row center! Was a bit INXS at that concert, LOLs, man did I party back in those days! Somehow managed to keep my head thru the whole show, amazing experience! Saw lots of the great bands, most were excellent seats, got lucky with tickets!
Imagine the kids today, they only have wantta-be rockers, rappers and Beavers to go se!

Don't think ever saw a bad concert in the 70's. The craziest was in Germany in 71. 4 bands, general admission (mad house when the doors opened!), Deep Purple played last. People simple passing around smoke, pills, wine. No, I don't remember much either!

Ya got me thinking the "Deep" today. Another one those "days"..as I get up at noon, (gotta love retired/retarded".. wake up at 2pm did a run to town came back and the gear heads pulled same me..new "slot car drag racers". (put it this way), spent 10 minutes crushing cans, recycle, and give the cans a old friend here who turns the cans in for cash, and donates it to his grand daughters "Girl Scout kids" .
Anyway...the first post/vid, is one I'm SURE, not done the many posts here.

And to Greg, THANKS for making this thread a "stickey", and ya all have a HEALTHY new year....as "money with out health, is useless...)

This is good, for the simple reason Don was a "Folk singer and guitarist" Loved a small crowded (intimate crowd seen) "bar", to play. But this went big, and he got.. "famous" Thing is, he did NOT like playing music out to the not seen, and the bright lights HIS Eyes?"..He was a "interactive the crowd"type. Not some massive "stadium"..

Saw a spin off band interviewed on how they contacted him for permission to use his name for their band. They said his was the extreamly nice and that he had a good laught and agreed to let them use his name, something most others would never do. If I recall they named their band "The Bastard Sons Of Johny Cash", and with that name they locked up a good amount of success!

Stones mean a little more to me, as a 69 Nam Vet...(this anyway vid). I had a reel to reel 8" tape player basecamp, and got many old HS girl friends back.."in the world", who sent me new tapes, (and home made Brownies and cookies!)..I doubt the Stones wrote this with Nam in mind, but sure does come out well to me. Guess ya had to be there, and live those days.

This for the 59,000+ who never made it "home"...

Care less after 6 decades "knuckle dragging the dirt, or the decades .."wet". But the "news" is ALWAYS bad, as its the end of the world? Calling BS. Been a great run me, as I simple laugh it off now, as .."seen it..(Kennedy killed, Nam, end the muscle car era, ect..)"...but its ALL scare tactics now, the gov? Anyway, many post songs to go with fast boats..(OK ME!)..but when coming back from "Barneys Island", late Sunday after a W/E of in the boats, go back the dock and simple say..(playing in the boat, then a cassette, drunk top off women (gotta get the "girls some air ya know!) and wasted dudes..(and we ALL "MOONED the crowd leaving, girls and guys!) ... W/E over, go home. HEY PARKER! Story FL! We just had our 45th HS Reunion back Illinois..(no didn't make it, preserving myself for the 50TH!). But this came to mind tonight! (Gotta think funny, as you probably in diapers, us NAKED! HA! Rest? the story...

Jimmy wild man! All the pix are at Pauls site..just C+P. But, the "classified " "naked in the reptile room"..( actually "Flashing"....the Streaker" HA!. NOT for public viewing! Never forget spring break, in 1973, Cocoa Beach..(remember Richie Bocker? lived there) Took 3 girls and (forgot her name) brother. In my 67 Chevy Caprice. Hit some motel, all us in one room the beach. We were right at the ocean, but the pool was before the beach. Thing is dusk, was a "teachers meeting" at the pool. So what did we do? WHAT ELSE..STREAK"EM! About 13 us, guys and girls, butt ass naked, CRASHED THE DAMN THING! Guys jumped in, swam the other side, most naked girls took the "long way around"..(can't get the hair wet!") Simple us..(girls anyway), screaming, as one side the pool and out. DAMN, have to say we sure did get a HEALTHY ROUND OF APPLAUSE!
Also when having innocent fun was legal, and enjoyed others :p;):D:thumbsup:

Story before the song..

Damn great day, but miss my old covette, as my passed with cancer GR doggy at 9, but she LOVED the vette! Sat backwards pass seat, T-Tops off, head out the people.."Woof, Woof, .."we be cool!" Thing is, I had a 1000watt kicker under the seat, massive speakers the back! WOW! Thing was .."her song"..(RIP Dusty Doodle bug). Pic the vette..(simple do not want to post the dog pix..sorely missed)..
