It was taken to LOTO, a class invented for a singe boat in existence and even though it was a good 8 to 10 mph slower than it was with the X powerheads and no coopetition to compete against, it was considered a recordholder.
Eye whiteness accounts say that on a second run with the motor's turned up the boat failed to run the full 3/4's of a mile under full power.
While there was "rose colored glasses" talk of coming back, the 300x powerheads were installed back on the boat and sold.
I only hope they had the decency to seal all the holes they drilled in the hull to mount the battery's ...
Anything after that (page after page of multiplex demodulators, and you just wait and see, hopefuls) is just the few rocket scientists .. and fewer lib-tards .. we have here tryin to keep an ill-fated dream alive.
With Ford losing billions on forced golf cart production. And Musk supporting POTUS in the 2024 election, the thread is / was pretty much dead.
Unless you want to talk about how FJB's FEMA has ignored helping the good people of western N. Carolina because they know that there is valuable lithium deposits in that area of the country.

Anybody tow a normal guy 21' boat with a 4 cyl gas turbo pick-up lately ???
Holy **** they sound funny, the engine box is empty .. but they pull pretty good and get better mileage than a 4.6, 5.4 or a 5.3 gas truck ..

    Exactly.!
Sad the same clowns run this site into the ground
and nothing is done about it. truly sad.

I had dinner with the college kids who
designed and built the electric hydro.
Was great to listen to them and hear there
    reasons for the project.
I have converted 3 road cars and 1 truck to all electric.
Just finished a Zero turn to all electric for a special project.
The battery technology out now is incredible.
Would love to share it but it will get pounded into the ground
    by the circus.

Dago, I invite you to show where anything I have ever said is a lie. You might not like what I say, you just have no logical argument against it.

I have always looked at you as 75% rocket scientist and 25% libby. To now say you have "wonderful new technology" that your not sharing .. just moves 25% more of you into the clown section.

I've got an electric yard cart, some garden tools, shop tools .. but I ain't takin that junk any farther off my property than I care to walk home ...

No Sir never called anyone a liar. Ever.
Electric will never replace ICE ever.
Its just fun to play with new technology thats all.
I think everyone should have a nuclear reactor in there yard.

Think about what you’re saying mate. break out the BS’o’Meter that God gave you.

Actual workable solid state transportation batteries would be the greatest scientific discovery in the history of humanity maybe even more than nuclear fission.

if china really had working mass market affordable solid state batteries in cars that regular people can drive, don’t you think someone in the West would pay the 100% tariff for a couple of cars, and copy it? Take your tinfoil hat off don’t be ridiculous. Don’t be that old fart who believes in the 100mpg carburettor and yells at clouds.

mate, ya gotta take your ideological blinders off and try to see things for what they are.

Yes Peter You know more than anyone, first you need to call the CEO of FORD, because you are so much smarter than him,

Aw Cudes. Not a word in that article about mass market cars all over China using solid state batteries. Not. One. Word.

Look mate, my area of knowledge is mathematics and engineering, not geopolitics or business marketing. Leaving out the fantasy of solid state batteries for the moment, even regular old lithium ion cars are hyper expensive. Besides inconvenience, high cost even after subsidies is probably the next biggest barrier to regular lithium ion car adoption. And well let’s be honest, China has huge advantages in the cost area with its wide availability of slave labour. Western countries are always going to have trouble competing with slave labour countries willing to work with the dirty and dangerous materials that go into lithium ion batteries. If that’s what you’re saying then believe it or not, we agree with each other. Also, I don’t know how you get around that. I’ll leave that bit up to you. I just know the science. I make no claims about being able to solve anything else.

This is an excellent and informative post about the Vision Marine Hellkat programme. It dovetails nicely with the fact they were offering discount stocks and didn’t make an appearance at LOTO 2024. Vision Marine in financial trouble? :shrugs:

Well, some day electric "may" replace ICE, but certainly not in our lifetime.
What bothers me is the idiots that forget that this is America and that we have gotten where we are by the use of our free market system, not by forcing foolish idea's on our people and manufacture's. Every year all they do is make it harder for the lower and middle class to keep their heads above water, let alone thrive.

Having hobbies and inventing technology in home garages that turned into huge industry across America is part of our history. If nothing else, it made for great bonding between many a father and son, which to me is priceless.

It's funny you mentioned the nuke. I spoke to a Zoning inspector about 3 phase in my home garage. He didn't answer my question as to what the law was .. he said What the he11 do you need that for .. So I didn't answer his ... If I can afford it , I should be able to build a nuclear power plant in my back yard ..

Phukkin liberal busy bodies ... have infiltrated every area of jobs that actually produce ... nothing ..

Peter ... You'll never be able to explain anything to the village idiot. At the moment he's just stringing you along because you're the only semblance of a friend he's got. Just keep calling him mate, ask to see his pictures from pride month, his trip to N. Korea , Russia and China. Or do like the rest of us ... and just block him ... LOL

I don’t know about solid state. There was an article today in the SAE newsletter about real word trials by Stellantis. Toyota claims to be close.

Maybe it’s coming or maybe it’s like fuel cells, and always 10 years out.

David, we have fuel cells, https://www.amazon.com/Donpida-Fuel-...1zcF9hdGY&th=1

When we visit for Christmas, I like to spend a weekend at the Horseshoe Falls Marriott and get a room high up with a Falls view, I never get sick of the Falls, I have been there 1,000's of times, and grew up 15 miles away.

Anyhow a Hydrogen Honda pickup was on display out front, it had to be 20 years ago, where are they now,

Hydrogen is only worth it in fleet vehicles that can fill their own.

HYDROGEN IS CONSIDERED INEFFICIENT, because a significant amount of energy is lost during the process of producing, storing, and transporting it. non starter.
