The 27.5% tariff on Chinese cars might also be a factor in Chinese cars not being marketed in the US.

They sell to Mexico to avoid the tariff, then they come up here! you'll never guess what's in the trunks.

She loves picking on kids in Mustangs. We both went for a ride in Tesla S Plaid which is 1050 hp and over 1000 ft lbs torque. That car is sick. My wife said she wants one. I think her 600 hp 700 torque Telsa is enough. The best thing is the power is 100% at 1 rpm. No waiting to spool up like the gas engines. No maintenance and super cheap to drive. What is not to like?

The GM EV work truck is said to have a range of over 400 mile or charge your home for two weeks
https://electrek.co/2024/04/18/you-c...ional-charger/
Fords EV pickup is a sad joke... small battery.
You can power your home for 21 days with a Chevy Silverado EV and GM’s new bidirectional charger
Once installed, GM Energy’s home EV chargers will enable customers to send power from a compatible GM EV to their home in the face of increasing power outages across the US.
Customers can purchase GM Energy’s V2H bundle through current GM mobile brand apps. It’s initially rolling out in five states – California, Florida, Michigan, New York, and Texas – with plans to expand over time.
At $7,299, the bundle doesn’t come cheap. It consists of the GM Energy Powershift Charger at $1,699, and GM Energy V2H Enablement Kit at $5,600. Installation costs and taxes won’t be included and will vary, depending on a home’s existing setup and other things. GM has partnered with home EV charging installer Qmerit.
But it’s comparable to other battery storage costs – a Powerwall costs $11,500 with a solar installation through Tesla – and GM’s system eliminates the need to install battery storage.
The first of GM’s EVs to be compatible with the GM Energy home product suite is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV First-Edition RST, which is expected to be available to customers this summer.
The Silverado will be equipped with V2H bidirectional charging technology. With an enormous 200 kWh battery pack that can provide up to 10.2kW of power flow, the electric pickup is capable of powering an entire house for 21 days.
GM says it will continue to roll out V2H bidirectional charging technology across its Ultium-based EVs by model year 2026. That will include the 2024 Sierra EV Denali, the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV, the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV, and the 2024 Cadillac LYRIQ.
Some eligible 2024 GM EVs will require a dealership or over-the-air update to enable bidirectional charging.
Electrek‘s Jameson Dow will demo GM Energy’s new V2H products on May 9 and will report back with insights.
GM Energy is ready to compete with the likes of Tesla and its Powerwalls – it says it will sell stationary battery storage and solar integration later this year.

That was Great... ?
Here you go in your backyard, free power
https://www.thecooldown.com/green-bu...voltaics-ohio/
A huge solar farm that has been approved in Ohio could be the paradigm for similar ones moving forward.
The Oak Run Solar Project on 6,000 acres in Madison County will be able to serve the grid with enough electricity to power 170,000 homes.
The most impressive part about the billion-dollar effort is how developers are designing the massive system to include agriculture — a concept called agrivoltaics. It's part of the work to maximize sun-catching, as well as to gain support from Madison's robust farming community, according to Electrek and the project's website.
"A solar project provides a healthy, productive economic development opportunity for local land to harvest a stable cash crop — the sun," the developers wrote on the website.
As part of the plan, a thousand sheep will graze on the Oak Run property. There will be 2,000 acres of crops a year after the system powers up. The goal is for about 70% of the project area, around 4,000 acres, to include agriculture, according to Electrek's story.
It's the largest project of its kind in the United States, estimated to generate $7.2 million in tax revenue each year. The system's life span is estimated at 35 years, all per the developer, Savion. Savion is a subsidiary of Shell.

Watch now: The most sustainable thing about the new Rivian? Its price tag
Electrek reports that some of the land being used is owned by Bill Gates, who has supported numerous clean-energy projects.
The dual-use nature of Oak Run has the potential to aid two growing problems on the planet: air pollution and food security.
Reliance on dirty power sources contributes to planet overheating, which is negatively impacting the food industry. Lower productivity, droughts, and other weather-related problems are even impacting prices at the grocery store.
Solar projects that power hundreds of thousands of homes can help our grids move to a cleaner energy base. Better yet, businesses like EnergySage are working to make installing home-based systems more accessible. The results could eliminate power bills, saving as much as $1,500 a year, especially when considering tax breaks and other incentives geared to lower setup costs.
The U.S. Energy Department reports that renewable energy generates about 20% of the country's electricity. Solar is at about 3.4% of that mix. The project in Ohio can help to increase the production of these forms of energy, becoming a boon for two industries.
"As climate change continues to disrupt Ohio's agriculture practices and yields, the practice of agriculture in tandem with solar panels represents a unique and bold opportunity to act on climate," Nolan Rutschilling, Ohio Environmental Council's managing director of Energy Policy, said in the Electrek story. We have invented the world; WE see

Best selling cars in America are: Ford F150, then Toyota Camery, then Subaru. The japs have been running circles around us and will continue to do so with their dependability "unless you buy a citizen paid electric". I get pissed off watching our employees spend our money in ways that we have no vote on. I agree with Brad, Electric has incredible performance, very few moving parts, and would make a great city car as he uses his. However, why the hell should I pay for him or anyone else to own it? Give credit to U.S. automakers to build hybrids and not have to worry about getting critical minerals from anyone. Its a total agenda that seems to have an unlimited budget (assuming will all keep making money and paying in).
Take a look at the last 26 years and tell me we are not being over run. The way I see it is that we need to step up our game and offer a better product-not use citizens money to buy a market share. https://www.visualcapitalist.com/bes...ar-since-1978/
Now, when they get the majority pushed into the e.v. corner, who pays for the replacement of fuel tax?, who pays for system needed to support the electric demand?, who controls your electric bill?--Can you trust your government? Ask an Indian....

False!!! It's not even close! Ford F150 is first. Toyota Camry is not even the best selling Toyota. Camry is eighth on the list. Subaru is a brand, not a model. It does not even have a model in the top 10.
Four of the top five and five of the top ten models are American. If you add up the numbers of the top 10 sellers. 3,788,236 cars were sold. 2,429,729 were American. 1,358,507 were foreign. More than a million more American than foreign.
Here are the best-selling vehicles of 2023
1. Ford F-Series: 750,789 units
2. Chevrolet Silverado: 543,780 units
3. Ram pickup: 444,926 units
4. Toyota RAV4: 434,943 units
5. Tesla Model Y: 394,497 units
6. Honda CR-V: 361,457 units
7. GMC Sierra: 295,737 units
8. Toyota Camry: 290,649 units
9. Nissan Rogue: 271,458
10. Jeep Grand Cherokee 244,594

Take the trucks out of the picture and they are mopping us up this year as per usual. Its a fact and has been this way for over 20 years. Pull the citizen subsidy and see where the plug in rates. You and I are buying Teslas market share. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/g6...ing-cars-2024/

Yes. Thank you for the rebate on my electric car! While I am at it. Thank you for the rebate on my oversized, net metered, solar panel system. And also thank you for the rebate on my arctic heat pump that I heat and cool my house with. It works great! Now, I charge my car for my 75 mile daily commute. I heat my house all winter and cool it all summer. And my electric bill still totals less than a couple hundred bucks for the whole year. Thank you for that.
And electric cars with Chinese batteries no longer qualify for the rebate. The requirements get stricter every year. Designed to make the manufacturers source more and more American parts. Pushing that can do American agenda.
