Yes, the sales of gasoline and diesel powered vehicle's especially trucks, are selling like hot cakes. It seems that Americans don't want gay-azz beer, cars or trucks. One can only look at this situation and say, FJB and his fellow brain dead followers.

Same guys out to set another “record”.
Chaz I think they’re coming to see you!
Longest leg of the 1000+ mile, 17 day trip is 81 mls on pontoon boat w/a full riff covered in solar panels!
Cocoa to Fort Pierce Fla!
Chaz, I think you and Gordon should go meet them for munch!
17 day's .. LMAO , I've done it in 2 hours. It would have taken half that time but the sacred cow zones limit some aeras to idle or 30 mph max.
Fake Records : I've been to the track too many times on test yur turd night. There's always some idiot screaming something like ... I just set the record for the worlds fastest .. 305 two barrel Chevy motor in a Lincoln Zeffer with one plug wire pulled off on a night with a half moon out and a baby seat in the back .
All a rational person can say is ... Oh bless their heart ..
I'd love to meet them ... with a bull horn and a Trump AMERICAN flag.
Gordon, not so much .. unless he's going to a "real" race he don't seem to go to far from home ..
I heard that.
Ohio just announced a 25$ million project to install 24 car charging stations through out the state.
So a million per!
People don’t seem to be asking this question, how does it work?
So your Tesla charge gets low on the way to grammas house, so you find a charging station and take an 8hr break??
Probably has the Uber chargers so it charges in 2 hrs and we pay the electric bills.

Nobody's talking about this? It's even boat-related in a way...
That Flaming Cargo Ship Is Loaded With Nearly 500 EVs, Not 25
The prognosis fora fire onboard a cargo ship transporting thousands of cars has taken a turn for the worse, as news has come out that the vessel is carrying far more electric vehicles than initially reported. It worsens the odds of containing the fire and salvaging the ship, which is reportedly at risk of sinking in an ecologically significant area.
Initial reports indicated there were only 25 EVs on board, but K Line has now reportedly confirmed the Fremantle Highway is carrying 498 EVsEV fires burn at far higher temperatures and are more difficult to extinguish. That's because lithium-ion batteries can combust on their own if they reach too high of a temperature, and reignite days or even weeks after a thermal event initially began. One potential cause of the fire is manufacturing defects in a single cell, which could cause a chain reaction that burns up the whole car.
Apparently it's all going down (pun also intended) in an ecologically sensitive area too.

we have had some fires wiht solar panels
could be the quality ( chinese ) could be the installation ( poor ventilation beneath the panels ) but in general some more care can be taken in the installation
another problem is the duck curve
in the netherlands we have already had the situtation where electricity price was negative
we now try to move into contracts where you pay by the hour so you try to use electricity when it is cheap to heat boilers or storing it in another usefull form preferebly cheap
it,s just that the best thing always seems to be around the corner but never goes around
grafeen battery are already suppose to be here but i guess we will have to wait some more years

and if everybody is so wurried about global warming why is mercury designing one big outboard after another?
forcing small boat owners to upgrade to bigger boats or install 60R's and call it a day
it's a bit conflicting

It was my buddies charter fishing boat, it just constantly had new problems
One day I was at the marina and watched a fault they couldnt fix but my buddy said kept happening.
Turn the key when cold and it runs at about 2500 rpm.
The other stuff was just one engine fault after the next.
It just looked like a cobbled together box of parts and a computer built by a primary school student.
He asked for a new one and they said it will be the same so we will buy it back.Last edited by powerabout; 08-01-2023 at 08:47 AM.

Me and my big ******* mouth, and karma, have reached a non-serendipitous moment in time.
An Outlaw632 / drag radial car I did back in the day's owner went to the N.E. for a month. Came back a ******* lib-tard or sumptin.
He wants me to meet him tomorrow about pullin that killa nitrous motor out, and making plates and mounts to hang this POS letric motor in its place.
The guy is my friend, and he has treated me better than good over the years. So I at least owe him a shot at talkin him down off the ledge ...
While some are just plain stupid and can't be helped. My warning to those with a less than solid base is that ... don't venture off into the land of the lost by yourself .. you just might come back lookin + thinkin like this ...

Electric motors have tons of right-now, torque. And a good motor with a good controller will be easier to modulate than with a foot actuating butterflies. BUT... You can't just put a special lightweight drag battery in that last just long enough for the run and the drive back to the pits, unless he's planning to run lead acid. Lithium batteries need to be way more storage than you need if you are going to full throttle them for 9-12 seconds. You need the excess battery capacity to cushion the high discharge rates. This is why I believe the electric catamaran throttled back as well. Too fast a drain for too long, and boom! Lithium fire. Which means a lot of extra weight. A LOT of extra weight. A long range Tesla battery weighs as much as two and a half LSx V8's. Just the battery.
Your mate will have to figure this stuff in his planning, on order to avoid a fire bomb. And probably add significant bracing to his car, to accommodate the extra weight.
