Reading between the lines Pilgrim it's going to be a while yet, he's going the "softly,softly " route!!
Seems to have oodles of gee-gees, the boat looks nice but I spotted one or two things that are mildly detrimental to world record speeds . But who the hell am I to criticise reaching for the stars
I've been doing it all my life, good luck to him but drag racing and world records are poles apart.
There are a lot of folk in and around Stuart with a wealth of experience and knowledge, he could do worse than sit down , buy them a drink

finally got to grips with the canopy, I now have three of em,
Do like this set of boots better than the last ones.

Made the decision that the boat going on the back of the Rolls Royce , for Rich,has to be something a bit more "LEGENDRICAL" than the DAX, something that all the old farts agree to be appropriate for the occasion------something Rich, Stavros and Caddilac would all agree would be "THE BIZ".
What do you think it might be ?----started it today----may take a piccy of it in its infancy.
I knew exactly what it was going to be the minute I made the first cut, it just cried out "Yes"--- clever bit is going to be making it fit the TRAILOR .

Chucking it down, Jilly taking the kids to the "Flying Fortress" at Ford Airfield, probably a zillion kids there seeing as how it's half term !!!
Really looking forward to a day in the workshop, got a great project in mind---------beauty of "CONCEPTS" is the fact it gives you a licence to illucidate, use your imagination ----cut loose and create-------get away with murder if you don't have a designers talent.
Lets see what transpires, show you a piccy afore nightfall.

Not far enough advanced to show you any pics ------too much happening people wise.
Project going fine----more complicated than I thought, so due to mitigating circumstances, I am not as far advanced as I had hoped I would be.
Matt came up to collect the kids----he will stay two days, couldn't stay in the shop all day could I ?

.....had a Flying Fortress, a B-25, and two P-47's fly over at about 1500ft last weekend when I was working in the Orchard. Those old Radials sire sounded sweet!!

Aint that the truth------I still get my neck hair standing upright every time I hear a supercharged Merlin winding up-----you know the Spitfire is coming right by anytime soon.
We have one up and running here at Goodwood airfield , comes right by the house, throbbing and burbling, it's right up there with the howl of a V6 Merc and a V4 Johnrood,( I'm deliberately leaving out R/Js Rotory, just to give him an itch) and PRUETT farting!!!

Mathew came straight from Bristol Hospital where he had his last dose of Chemo/Radio for a while, he gets to rest for a week before it all kicks off again. Dropped everything and closed the shop up for the day around three o'clock------playing it by ear, they all head for home Sunday but I don't think there will be much progress in the shop over the weekend!

After much measuring, checking and double checking, found out I'd screwed up on the measurements of the tunnel width for Rich's boat, it's all dismantled again after redesigning the thing completely-----no fool like an old fool !!! One day I'll get it right.


We got that bloody idiot Putin sending fighter bombers over Britain now, yes we did send up a couple of Typhoons alongside to blow raspberries------shoulda put a couple a holes up his jacksee ---only way to stop the buggers coming back tomorrow----We got us another Adolf with that one.
Ukraine today-----Britain tomorrow -------USA next week.
Trouble is Cameron is so intent on cutting defence budgets to balance the economy he's left the gate wide open and Putin will charge right through it.

Stavros didn't let us know how he fared-----wish he'd tell us!!
Got my big hospital visit on Monday -----hope they give me some indication of when and if I get to drive again.
Been a funny old week on the whole-----I seem to be firing on all cylinders -----back to normal, not doing Everest or Killimanjaro next week. Cancelled the Med cruise----Jilly fancies Andalusia and the Alhambra ----I'd like a Carribean cruise with a bit of sun-n-sand, guess who's gonna win that one?

We had different childhoods Jackie ( a few years apart is why)
When I hear a Merlin now I think of an unlimited hydro that I used to watch since a young teenager
The boat and the plane sound exactly the same.

The good news...
Putin will get removed before Russia runs out of cash which the USA and Saudi have engineered at the moment and a very clever plan it is
( well I hope before the despot declares war on everybody - are Russians that dumb?)

Doing well physically Jackie. Everything came out well with nearly no Pain. Had a week in the hospital. And now a week at home with the best nurse ever. She ihas taken wonderful care of me for 41 years and gets better every day. During surgery, they removed seven lymph nodes for biopsy. Unfortunately two of them came back positive. So it looks like I will have a bit of chemo ahead of me. Just got to be tough and hang in there. 👀

Hey Jackie you once told me most boatbuilders designed their racing boats on the back of a f-g packet while drinking beer down at the pub maybe you should try this.I had a phone conversation a few days ago with my old buddy Dave Brockington I told him you had been asking about him the first thing he said was had you mellowed with age I had to tell him the truth that you still could be a aurgmentative old Sod but you may have mellowed just a little .He has said he will pencil a few days in for the off in November to visit the US.
