Brett May is here as usual ——- Steve Curtis is not—- neither is the Huski Race boat—— doubt if that will ever be seen again—— if you go offshore racing —its expensive and has to be paid for. Simples !!!!! Perfect weather for the first days racing [thats when things can go horribly wrong] ?????????
Wind around ten MPH — just about as good as it gets —. Navy and the Aussies are quickest— POTHOLE HEROES WITH CARLOS AND JOHNNY TOMLINSON Not that far behind DFYOUNG have made huge strides forward . All will be revealed this morning.

Must admit , its not a bad way to go racing USA. THOR OUTLAW RV. Five double beds and a flushing toilet—- hot and cold running water,—shower——fridge and freezer
—- life can be a stone bitch sometimes !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Back home the Palestinians are protest marching over Israeli”s reaction for slaughtering over 200 kids having a great time at a dance !!!!!!!!!!!!??????????? Did the idiots think they would turn the other cheek ???????? Believe me the Israelis are pissed off enough to blow the Palestinians out of existence .

HELIOCHOPTERS AND FLORIDA BUZZARDS ARE FILLING THE SKY !!!!!! Must be coming up to race start time—- grandson Craig has just entered the complex and we are waiting for him to arrive !!! Once he’s here we will head off to the start line and viewing areas . Will try and keep you up to date on todays events!

As so often happens in boat racing there was a bad accident in the days first race —- open class —a pair of boats —one hooked and t-boned the other . All four were thrown into the water —three are ok but the fourth has been flown to Miami for further treatment.
Class one has been postponed until 12-30

Sorry to hear about the accident! We can only pray for the safe recovery. That’s the chances you take for the money you pays. Jackie, you certainly are roughing it down there in the keys that traveling circus trailer that you got is big enough to house. The whole menagerie speaking of 38 double D’s from an earlier post. You were talking about the shoe size were you not? Don’t worry, Jackie. We can put you on oxygen if you run across that double breasted mattress thrasher again that’s always a Amberjack. Oh by the way, what is a Helio chopter? The correct term analogy is whirlybird in proper colonial English.1 Florida buzzards are just the local grifters that are prevalent down here during the winter for the sunshine as long as they’re circling you’re OK it’s when they want to shake your hand that you got a beware.

Well something was bound to happen and it did——- all the front runners were bunched too close for comfort !!!!!!!!!! X insurance decided he was going through [remember we are still on the first lap] sure enough he did a neat little barrel roll and the race was called .
Restart—- the Aussie navy boat came round with a healthy lead and simply increased it —- was nearly a lap in front at the end . DFYOUNG gave a good account of themselves before pulling up with a sprained fetlock [no idea what the problem was . ].
Everyone should put the key west race week on their bucket list !!!!!!!

Well Charlie — went for a sandwich lunch time —- Cuban shop was kinda busy so went and sat in the golf cart which was parke in a long bay with a fire hydrant at the far end —— a pair of yups parked on top of the fire hydrant —— was all of three minutes before the sheriffs car pulled up and wrote a ticket — no doubt about —they are amongst us !!!!!!!!! Sheriff looked me in the eye and said have a nice day sir !!!!!!!! Said i was just sitting there ready to move the cart should the need arise ———quite so sir —take care !!!!!!! We are down in the keys. ??????????

Grandson Craig decided to put the finishing touches to this one “CLOSEST THING TO HEAVEN I HAVE EVER BIN”——- goes for sale tomorrow at the poker run village !!!!!!!!!
Guy just offered $2,000 for it —-whadya know . Told him to come to the village on thursday.

Pothole hero’s suffered a little in todays meeting of friends ——which saw the retirement. Of X INSURANCE, but it should all be fixed for Sundays race . It was exceedingly warm today — went down to the beach —-thousands of people set up stall for the week — but they all have to leave before sundown, then go back again in the morning [thats another six dollars fifty]
Seem to be more people than ever down in the keys this year. Fairly sure this will be my last visit. Much as i enjoy the whole trip —- its just too much hassle and i am well past my “sell by date”.

well Fuji once upon a time a Mercury promotions man told me AS YOU GO THROUGH LIFE — MAKE SURE YOU ARE REMEMBERED —— was with Phil Read at a mercury conference when we were told this . So we stole the 80 merc that was going to be announced —- replaced it with a Seagull Century plus.

Five minutes before the presentation Pat Frewer —- Head honcho of SWMF sidled up to me and quietly said “Jackie —- put it back !!!!!!!!!” So i played the innocent and said “WHO——ME —- YOU THINK I TOOK IT ????????? ———Pat replied “NO, i KNOW YOU TOOK IT !!!!!
Many years later i asked him about the incident—————. He said he looked at all the dealers who were there —- and the only one stupid enough to nick a new motor was me.[but i swear Phil Read was party to the theft. We hid it in a new dealers bedroom ——-he thought every new dealer had a new 80hp for Christmas !!!!!!!!

Charlie ONEIL [amberjack] tells me HONDA are having a V8 four stroke presentation over in SARASOTA on the 15th this month——
Now it would be fun to have a quiet word in Tojos ear that a great publicity stunt would be to take Seebold there and get him presented with one of these for his services to racing —- now that would be a result ?????????? Plus— that would really piss off the Mercury top brass.
