Tricks that old racers get up to after retirement

The last two races of the each season were the South Miami Race and the big one the Coconut Grove Race. Those were the local races that always had big time riders show up. I rode those races in the masters category a number of times. Did your cousin ride for Mike's Cyclery? I was on "Team Miami" out of "The Bicycle Store" in South Miami which sponsored the South Miami Race at the time.

The last post should say mall, MAULE Lake, Marina. Regis was the owner and maître d’ of the place and everybody knew him another drink and hole up. There was Tony Roma‘s next to the railroad tracks.

...who built the "new" dry rack storage building on the north end of the maule lake property, at the mouth of the aleto river, back in the mid 80's ish? was that regis or? he was a jewish guy, cant remember his name. all kinds of history to be told about maule lake, but never mind that...

I don’t know who built the dry storage rack in mall lake in the late 80s that was after I moved out of Miami to West Palm Beach. Originally I believe the Bruell were the original owners developers of the maule lake marina. Regis as far as I know it was just the maître d’ at the restaurant there where we all used to hang out. It was a Chinese place for a while and then it was a barbecue rib joint.

Was a bit bumpy up in Michigan !!!!!!
Navy boat had the legs on both POTHOLE [J/T]. And HUSKI ICE [S/C] — Looked to me like it also had the best set up .
Course it doesnt help if you miss a buoy and get docked a minute !!
All in all, all the kids got this weekend was a second place !!!!!!!!!!!!!
My grandkids and my son have to put their heads together and maybe next time they can finish in front of the NAVY boat.

Did it again —— got carried away after “DIRTY MONEY”WAS DESTROYED !!!!!!!!!!
No way is the boat even going to be remembered , so i set about making a concept. Yes , i am well on with it But it will take me a while as i decided i was only doing mornings from here on in.

Boats that are this badly damaged usually happens after coming into contact with another or a solid object or at speeds in excess of 100mph ?????????
I have no idea of how old the craft is —or its past history.
I just think all race boats should be remembered —- same as all racers !!!!!!!

USED TO BE A COUPLE OF MAGAZINES THAT I SUBSCRIBED TO YEARS AGO . One was “exchange and mart” and ‘PRACTICAL BOAT OWNER”.
Now i bought a HOBIE 18 FOOT TIGER CAT [had a mad fit of depression] and decided it was not for me . So i went looking for the magazines to put the HOBIE In the “CLASSIFIED” ads like i used to when i was in the business so to speak . What do you know —- EXCHANGE AND MART IS NOW ON LINE ONLY ?????????——— could not find a copy of practical boat owner anywhere !!!!!!!!
So i went —-ON LINE !!!!!!———found out the PBO has a very impressive list of directors including an advertising manager ——an advertising director——an advertising assistant manager and a sales director ———-JOLLY HOCKEY STICKS !!!!!!!!
So i sent an email to the ADVERTISING manager [ that would start the ball rolling ]. BOLLOCKS ——-that was a week ago and i have heard sweet FA [fanny adams of course] ??????????
Can’t say i am impressed with PBO’s lightning fast responses !!!!!!

Rang up the advertising web site of Practical Boat Owners [ advertising manager]. Was greeted by a voice of the Far Eastern vernacular that i simply could not understand so passed the phone over to her indoors . Upshot of all this was a promise that someone from advertising would call me and take down the advert ——- close of play nothings happened .

HERE WE ARE JUST 10 WEEKS AWAY FROM THE 2023 OFF MEETING AND NOT ONE SINGLE PERSO HAS SAID THEY WILL BE COMING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Squirt i can understand —- Billy and Timmy are just being “laid back”. Cadillac will always moan and groan and find the time but will turn up anyway .
Would be nice if some of you would let us know though????????????

Boy, did i ever get that wrong. Started out as a conception of “DIRTY MONEY””then i went “OFF PISTE” a tad ———wound up nothing like i intended .

Well hells teeth Fuji i already told you it’s nothing like it was supposed to be —- maybe i was in too much of a hurry—- i can’t put my finger on exactly where it all went pear shaped— but sure as god made little green apples it surely did.
Not to worry though, i really played a blinder and cracked it this time round. Even i think the present concept of “DIRTY MONEY” is pretty feckin good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Definitely not showing anyone anything but the finished concept ! You just have to wait and see .
As an afterthought, that particular concept that looks like nothing from this planet—it weighs in at over. 10 lbs .
