Just about every wall and fence round the bungalow has some feature flower or another —- who would have thought a N/W wall would support this sort of colour??????

I know you’re just messing with us, Jackie, when you say you live in a bungalow. The castle is more like it. Super shed has more tools than a John Deere foundry, and probably could produce automotive products if you really wanted to, but we colonials can only wonder amberjack best always.

Just remembering when I was a kid in Miami growing up Jimmy’s hurricanes drive-in and hot shops. Drive-in had to travel to find an A&W drive-in but we did on a trip up to Wisconsin somewhere in the Midwest. They were very big sure did miss those girls on rollerskates and short skirts, they do have a sonic that’s opened up but it’s just not the same in Riviera Beach

In England they may not have such establishments. Where you eat within your Car. They had trays which would mount on your car window when rolled halfway down or more. And the waitress would place the food on the tray.

Some of the eateries did not even have an indoor dining area.

Yep, I remember those days. Two other drive in restaurants we had in town were the Shoney's Big Boy, where the servers were on skates and Steak n Shake, where all the muscle cars hung out. On Friday nights regular folks would have to go inside the restaurant to eat because all the drive in spaces were occupied by the muscle cars with their hoods up all showing their M/T valve covers, Hooker headers, Holley 4 barrels and Mallory ignitions. The kids today would not even know what a window tray was or how to use it. Just another example of the great days gone by...

    Steak-n-Shake milkshakes were great too.

In Orlando also, (like Bob mentioned) the muscle cars would be at the Steak-n-Shake, especially on Weekend evenings.
However, there were always more dudes there than girls.

That was because the girls knew that if there was any extra money to be spent, it was going to be spent on the car and not them...

A little bit of trivia...The very first Hooters restaurant was open here in Clearwater, Florida back in 1983. It was the success of that unit that lead to the nationwide chain. I wonder why it was so successful..??
