Tricks that old racers get up to after retirement

Just been tested negative for covid .
my grandkids reckon if the virus ever bit me —strain would die .
They remember well the tale of grandad jack biting the head of a deadly viper because it bit him on the ankle and throwing it out on to the drive to dry in the blazing sun . The legend grows !!!
Ok i will come clean. Truth is i was cutting the edge of the drive with the trimmer —- i had shorts and no socks -just a pair of flip-flops. Strimmer kept picking up bits of grit along with the long grass . I got hit on the ankle by a couple of small stones which pierced the skin causing a trickle of blood to fall down the ankle . Didnt hurt , so i carried along strumming the long grass — a very unfortunate adder suddenly poked its head up which was immediately severed at the neck. I just tossed it on the drive for collection later . After school all the grandkids gathered and Ben the eldest noticed the blood pouring out of the wound . Grandad you’re bleeding——- yeah i know —- got bitten by a deadly snake — not to worry i got the antidote when i bit its head off !!!!!!!! I dont believe you says Ben, where’s the snake ??? Told him it was further up the drive . He ran off, found the snake , ran around the farm waving the snake like a trophy . GRANDAD BIT THE HEAD OFF A SNAKE—- JUST BECAUSE IT BIT HIM—- DO NOT MESS WITH GRANDPA JACK !!!!!!
Ben told all the kids in assembly next morning , the snake tale . Legend had begun.
Was enhanced when i blew out the back windows of the gypsies van wth a 12 bore .
But thats for another time .

25 years and 11 months — remembered every day —- still hurts like hell.

Worst night of my life —- coughed and peffed like a bloody 90 year old all night long . At one time i was so low i thought i might get the iPad out —common sense prevailed . Went to bed and coughed !
By 11-00 Jill had had enough and moved into the spare room. Closed both doors and just left me to get on with it , which was the best thing to do. Nothing worse than anyone trying to make polite conversation while you are coughing your ring up. Do feel a bit sorry for myself this morning .
Watched a bit of TV last night —- what a load of cobblers !!!!!! It has to be the bent scriptwriters , old established characters are turning AC/DC. If you aren’t gay or lesbian - your not in the script, unless your an ethnic with an Amazing lack of talent . Thats me done im going to pull the record player out of the attic . Yes i know Theres Spotify !!!!!! I have all my favourite tunes from the 70/s —- under the title JACKS WORKSHOP FAVOURITES . Meat loaf—phil Collins—Jagger [but not a lot] —Roberta flack—-John Denver —Glenn Campbell—-the carpenters —Neil Diamond —— Miles Davis —- Lionel Hampton—. Carole king—Sting— Korsakov—-Tchyakowski [not my spelling— isnt spellcheck marvellous?] —Greig—- all great music. Cant think of a single song or lyric written since 1979 worth listening to . Rap and the groaning can never be called music —— that went into the bin along with all the screaming girl bands . Only problem with spotty is the adverts every ten minutes telling me to pay ten pounds a month and there wont be any adverts ——strange old world we live in today. Init.

Bought the Garagei in 1971– made a lot of money the first year and treated myself a brandfire new HONDA CB500 —- so busy —i never had time to use it —a year later it had just 135miles on the clock.
