Today i ached , but i know exactly what the cause is. This is positively the very last heavyweight project i will ever try to undertake. I did realise before the start i was biting off more than i could chew, but i always had a big ego and a mouth to match. Arms, wrists, elbows, neck And the arse muscles i never knew i had before. Should be simples to do the other half and stitch them together ready for hanging. I will not be doing any more lifting. Only the final finish, which ive decided will be Matt.

A lot of us knew the history of Nicky Chapman--

Dont you just love this. Mona did this herself, and is the way i remember her . Not a hair out of place and lips you could stick her onto any window with without smudging her lipstick.
Anyone else out there remember her, or am i still the last one left?
Molly Ballou used to race at these California drag races.!

    Gene,

No problem, I believe that I had posted the picture when conversation was going around about Nick Chapman.Another in the picture was Dean Chenoweth 2-S on the outside. He won ASH, BSH, AU at this championship & was a podium finisher in BU. Everyone should know of him from driving the Miss Budweiser. Ron Zubach, a friend from NJ was driving a Sid Craft also from NJ. I didn't start racing until the next year & in hydros. Set a competion record in BSH in 1954.

Three British lads go over 135 mph in race boats.

Jackie are you surprised that ...?

Tony Williams, Bob Spalding and Rick Frost did over 135 mph in the early 1960's.
Print accuracy is a profession, but not always implemented.

What I find of interest is the 20% increase in boat speed (83 to 100 mph) from 1953 to 1954.

Neither Tony Williams nor Bob Spalding had even started racing in 1961! Somethings way off by the odd decade here and there.
There were no tunnel boats until 1964.
Vee bottoms were doing 55/ 55 mph.

It is a misprint. The first three dates enclosed in the blue box are all from the 1980's, not the 1960's. V-8 outboards running 137 mph were not even a dream in the 60's. Someone did not proof read that before publishing it or Lake X Kid is testing us to see if we have any brain cells left...

I recall Waldman running an F hydro at Tavares one year. Had CDI ignition from a later model inline 6 on the motor. The thing would actually idle! Won the race easily.

If you youngins can't see that those are "8"s not "6" - you might want to go get your eyes checked....
Glad to see that Mr. Spalding was on the list.

As mentioned, the first three dates enclosed in the blue box are shown as 1961, 1962 and 1963 should have been 1981, 1982 and 1983. The three dates below those are correct. Someone needs to have their eyes checked, but I am not mentioning any names...Amos McCoy
