Thanks William—— one of the things I always liked about you was your unquestionable modesty—— and your fierce loyalty to the Firm.
No doubt about —— Mercury altered—- changed and shape my life——- the friends I made and the direction I went were largely due to the Firm !

Catching you up Gene——- listened to what you said——- TOO HIGH !!!!——- So I tore it apart Reshaped the hull——- threw out the top deck——- started afresh.
Beavered away until I got the bugger right——- I did get to work in the shop until nearly bedtime!

Problem doesn’t stop there Gene——— CITICORP TRAVELER isn’t up to muster either, so I’m spending the next week putting wrongs right———- think you’ll be well pleased with both concepts when I’m through.
Pisser is——- I knew they weren’t up to the usual level of “fernagling” ——- and I knew I couldn’t get away with it——— after looking at some of the Model boats Philip Morris puts out——- thought I might have to raise my game a tad.
Five will get you ten you never say “SCREEN IS TOO HIGH ever Again!

Don't do make the mistakes made nearly 40 years ago Jackie--

Only a few people had the dream--Cross the Atlantic in an Outboard--

Turned out it was a 'dream' Butler and I agreed--'A Wet Dream'

Money --- and effort----spent on those two projects would bankrupt a third world country----

Maybe So Gene——- But if there weren’t adventurers like Magoon ( and Langham ) Columbus could have taken up gardening——- and Cook might have wound up being a fisherman—— and we might still be looking for The New World and Australasia?
Its always easier looking back———- Charlie Strang would still be at Fon Du Lac——— OMC Might still be a going concern———- Yamaha could have had a slapping and been incasterated !
Havent we all been “ Dreamers “ at sometime in our lives——- something’s are attainable——- others remain out of reach, but they still won’t stop the dreamers from trying the impossible!
Too high windscreen taught me a valuable lesson Gene——— something my primary school teacher said over eighty years ago—Could do better——- funny how old teachings can bite your asse
Thanks for all your birthday wishes——- by lunchtime I had just four cards —— got Another four at the lunch table ( and a balloon). Postie brought another half dozen——- was a time when I would receive thirty or forty——- but the day of the “DOT DOT” has arrived——- folk just pound the keyboard with the index digit —— it’s quick and it costs nothing.
Am I being CYNICAL? I don’t think so—- just factual——- it’s the way of the world —— any colour as long as it’s black——- it’s called “MANIPULATION”.
Ah well, first day of another year——- better get out there and make the most of what I’ve been given!

If he did Pilgrim—— he never got the recognition he deserved !
Unless he broke out of jail on the Isle of Wight——- jumped into Surfury and landed in New York instead of Torquay.

The story was in Sports Illustrated--the motor was a Johnson---I bet Lassie has the rest of the story

"Anyway, we finally got our boat secured aboard the ship, and we stayed on board for 30 hours until the storm blew itself out. Then back into the old ocean again. Oh, boy.

Final test runs for the Donzi 44 before it gets a wash and brush up prior to the Miami Boat Show.
Gave a good account of herself——- 120 + proved a walk in the park—— lots more to come ?
Should have a shed load of piccies afore long to share with you—— mouth allowed to open from next week !

Blasted white stuff dropped in for a spell last night——— woke up to a couple of inches !
Temperature here was around freezing———further up country it was minus -12, bloody cold by any standard, roll on April, never liked snow, even as a kid.
Came out of the shop early yesterday———- the little fan heater couldn’t cope, was a day using metal, couldn’t get my fingers to work. Called it a day and had a large one!
Far too cold to even think about the car boot sale——- wind cuts across that airfield like a knife—— maybe there’s hope for me after all.
Saw the weather across the USA———- didn’t feel quite so sorry for myself after that.
A week tomorrow and Mark hauls the Donzi down to Miami for the show———- so many firsts on the thing—— should create quite a stir. I know Mark and Craig are quite excited!
Yesterday they put the big props on it——- a full payload—— four people—— Cadillac McDonnel was heard to say ———- “ She rides just like a Cadillac “.
Gary Stray’s Comment was “ That lady would give Geico a run for the money”—- high praise indeed from a couple of guys who have been around “OFFSHORE” all their lives.
CIA and FBI would have been proud by the success of the secrecy surrounding the project—— but as Mark said “ Dad, we are six months ahead of the game—— in this industry——- stay on your toes—- keep it close to your chest———- ICONIC have a head and shoulders lead over every other manufacturer——- rest is up to them!”

One of my oldest friends gave these at my birthday lunch—— wonder if she was trying to tell me something?
