Tricks that old racers get up to after retirement

Im easy to find—— a creature of habit——— when you get to the UK——— send me a P M and I’ll give my address.
Better still, take a trip to Tavares next weekend——- there’s quite a number of seventies racers ( and their sons and grandsons). Be nice to catch up with you.

Finally got the shop as I want it——- last spot to clear out I found a very dusty and dejected “MALIBUSTANG” ——— looking very sorry for itself !
Found another dozen things to stick on e bay——- new policy——- if you haven’t used it in the last six months——- get shut of it !

Forgotten all all about the “MALIBUSTANG”, then there she was, looking up at me from under the bench——— with a very soulful and accusing look.
Tell you what—— if any of you old farts who are thinking of going, but don’t——- I can tell you now—— you will regret it for the rest of your lives ! Never ”PROCRASTINATE “no matter how old you are——— you’re too old to procrastinate!

On the downhill hill run now—— Final approach Monday and were all clear to go!
Stickle says he’ll be there——- wouldn’t be a bit surmazed if he didn’t stop off and pick up WILLABEE on the way———- then we really would have a full house!

Exactly 100 years ago the armistice was signed——— eleven o’clock on the eleventh day of the eleventh month, nineteen eighteen.
End of the war to end all wars——- Today is the only day the English and the French see eye to eye——- no, I can’t begin to explain it, so don’t even try to understand it.
Politicians fired the start gun and are still trying to justify the deaths of millions of soldiers and civilians .Same thing again with WW2—- Europe gets its knickers in a twist and expects Britain to straighten it out (as well as pick up the tab) !
Course—- while the cost can be counted in hard cash——-nobody can put a price tag on human life——
Just hope the worlds politicians are bright enough to make sure nothing like it ever happens again—- but I guess I’ll always have that nasty little niggle at the back of my mind !
But—— I will take a moment to remember———- after all, it is Remembrance Sunday——- and Jill Wilson’s birthday !

Sold to a well known offshore racer yesterday at Key West !

what do you know——- Craig sold five out of the six “CONCEPTS” ——- only one left—— he reckons it should have sold before close of play today.
Was an announcement in Key West today That has a profound effect on my family —— it’s ok if anybody cares to comment ?
Having lunch with her majesty and little Lizzie and her mum at the “47 Mussel Row” Littlehampton restaurant.
Only restaurant I have ever been to where I was happy with all three courses, and even the coffee was excellent.
Ihave to say, coffee in English eating establishments is much better these days—— even Starbucks have to pull their socks up——— there’s better coffees out there than theirs!

That’s it—— bedtime Sunday night—— this time tomorrow should be approaching St John———— couple of hours down the coast and i‘m in Orlando .
Think I finally got my house in order, bags packed, etta’s in order—— passport up to date—— all systems go!

Quick trip to the surgery—— final check, and I’m clear to go !

Craig sold all the concepts down at Key West——- al of them gone. Have another four in my suitcase—— Mona Lou is For Odell——— Kiekhaefer Aeromarine 111—- well, it’s in the case
—- be interesting to see who winds up with it.
Also have the thirty cylinder Radial in there. Any takers?

All being well, and if customs don’t have a funny five minutes—— I’ll bring them up to Tavares!

I let him pass me (cough) on the reverse grid start just so I could watch
it was great to be back in a lightweight flighty boat, thats for sure
got some funny looks when they asked when were you last in a race boat and I said in the 80's

Had a great time, fantastic bunch of drivers and shore crew and many thanks for Martin Lai for doing the hard yards to pull off a successful event.
