Must have done something right——- her who shall be obeyed at all times just informed me I can go to Tavares for the old farts annual get together. Was warned it’ll have to be the final time, due to mitigating Circumstances.

Very frustrating sort of day——— spent the previous two days fernagling Merts record craft———- Somehow, it didn’t feel right ———no continuity——— it wasn’t right——— it didn’t look the biz!
Did the only decent thing I could———- binned it and started afresh.
Was a long day——— managed about six hours in the shop today——- continuous. Got off to a good start, then got on a roll and couldn’t stop.
Madam didn’t return until 17:00 hours, by which time I was ready to call it a day anyway ———- but not before I had made serious into the latest concept.

Kitchen goddess then cooked Fillet steak, Onion rings, home cooked fries ( with horseradish) topped off with her own brand of cream caramel !
All in all, it turned out to be quite a useful sort of day !

Monday Monday——-bring it on, beautiful day, clear skies, temperature down to low single figures and the first few days of autumn, I’m raring to go, And well into a new concept.
My grandson Simon called in to see me for an hour on Saturday——— Told me how him and Craig had worked out the new design for the P1 carbon boat ��—— amazing how things can happen in your own back yard that you know nothing about !
I like the look of the new P1—- it’s changed radically from the ugly slab it was—— not quite a swan yet, but a huge improvement over the last model.
One day, I might even do a concept of it.

Just to let you know Pilgrim—— first one is done—— with a V8—— darent even begin to tell you figures——- it’s more than my nuts are worth !
Can tell you it’s a tad more than a beginners boat——with a safety cell——- Problem is—- beginners think they’re immortal—— that’s when the trouble starts!

What I was trying to tell you Pilgrim——- two of my grandsons brought this about——-?.?With a little help from my son !
Boats are all new——- Carbon——- .light years ahead of ANYBODY else in the Marine industry !
But all very low profile stuff.

Buggered if Jilly didn’t manage to pick another huge bunch of sweet peas yesterday———- Definitely the last, as the plants are being torn out this week.
Roses have all had another lease of life and are magnificent.
We have wall to wall sunshine again today—— great for this time of year, even though they’re not sunbathing Temperatures.
Five Hours in the shop yesterday, thought up a good idea for the mount for the latest concept—— had to do it while it was fresh in my mind. Might give you a sneaky peak if it works out.
I got talked into buying a new carbon steel band saw blade—— cost exactly twice as much as the one I had previously been using. Result———— it has lasted at least three times as long as the old one and is still sharp and running true——— I can recommend them if your cutting aluminium of various thickness 3—25 mm.
Two day’s to finish the project and clean up the shop——-then Madam has decided we’re off down to Salcombe in Devon for a long weekend break. Says I need a break from the shop———- funny the excuses the other halves can conjure up when they want something?

Do I stick a gearcase and prop on it——— put the rest of the steering in/——or just say “Bollocks”- that’s it.
Or start afresh and do one that’s a bit closer to the original ?
Yes, after the first two—— the third one should be a cake walk!

If you make a new one, you also have to decide if it should be a two pipe exhaust, as was used to set the record, or the single pipe that was shown in all the ads ..... decisions, decisions.

I just painted the cowl black—— seemed the decent thing to ———- the five point star on the base I did in red just to break the monotony!
Padded a steering wheel—— see if it needs a “dead mans” !
Tell you now Bill—it’s my last trip to Tavares, ——would love to see you there——- so would most of the old farts who turn up. Stickle tells me he tries every year to get you to Tavares?

Jackie, the one I posted is the only one I have ...... from Powerboat. You'll probably have to get out the magnifiers to see both pipes in this pic, but they are there.
