    Electric Go-Fast Boats

Records require a modicum of intelligence and plenty of people go for the low hanging fruit as such. Why try and beat a high speed record when you can easily surpass a record established when the technology was in its infancy or nobody else was bothered. Not to take anything away but all the existing records were established with early technology on very limited budgets by enthusiasts trying to forge a path. I dread to think what Jaguar Vector has spent to go what is still a relatively modest speed but I hear they are trying again later in the year at records week.
Last time I paid any attention to electric records was when a guy had a bunch of car batteries stuffed into a D stock hydro and the "powerhead" was a lift truck motor. Things have really changed..........look at the building trades guys..........nobody uses AC power anymore......all cordless lithium ion power and the delivery voltage is going up to 80VDC from a humble 12VDC where it started. It's the cycle depth that's the challenge. Nobody has mastered the range problem yet. I don't think you have to worry about an electric F1 race happening for a while yet. Is the Jaguar hull a DAC they got from somebody?

Ok so I said “Talk amongst yourselves”!———- if you read any of my earlier emails this week, you would know that I’m a thousand miles south of London Docks.
Looked like there weren’t many spectators——— at £50 a pop they weren’t exactly going to rush out and fill the non existent seats!
Saw a bunch of old timers reminiscing on the “old days”

On Kerosene would say it's the Merc JP optimax, only sold to the US military I think.

    er . Who won ?
OMC May have been “AHEAD OF ITS TIME” with the V8 thirty years ago——— didn’t stop them going “TITS UP” and into obscurity!
Don’t see many RUDES flying the competition flag these days?
As the old saying goes —- One swallow don’t make a summer”—————- to be competitive——- you have to be there !
What was it Bob and Bing used to sing———— THANKS, FOR THE MEMORY———- Welcome to today’s world Lassie———— the world of Mercury——- Outboard and Inboard ——- a bit shaky, but alive and well.
Daughter Kim says AKERS drove the race really well and deserved the win!

Living in my village —- Bouzigues——- is a Swede, Michael who just happens to race vintage autos—— it’s a Rotary Mazda RX7-78 with a 12A dry sump. Full group 2 spec—— he really pisses off the establishment by continuously winning——— told me he’s pulling 500 hp. What do you think Johnno?

Price of a DAC today is €130,000—— big chunk out of a budget——- When you can buy A full carbon Seebold for $25,000.
