These are the five Fonda newsletters I spoke of earlier———- number three has the letter from Msr Bladinaire confirming the Paris Six Hours race would be two litre maximum !
Confirms the fact Fonda was racing Formula one long before OMC got their OZ series up and running !
That was before the double dealing UIM and Rolf Frohling together with OMC, and Wim Ruberg, ( The Dutch UIM representative) and a barrow load of OMC cash connived, schemed, lied and cheated to take the title “formula one” .
You need to add some dates

Looks like there’s been a bad accident at Jacksonville in the P1/s.
Tell you when I know more for certain.

Many thanks for that Bob, There’s a block on all footage here in the UK.
None of my family are answering their cell phones———- 21 was Craig’s race number in the P1 series last year——— more once I’ve talked with them.

Talked with Mark——- I have a lot clearer idea of what went on in Jacksonville——- butunable to comment at this time.
None of the boats have been impounded, and it’s been called “a racing accident” ——
Will leave a much depleted field for the next P1 race.

looks like the boat behind tapped the one in front causing it to turn in front of it?
Or the one in front had a major failure and turned left?

There is some helicopter footage which Mark wants to see before making any comments.
Man who caused it was a rookie and paid the ultimate price. But that’s an interim judgement based on what footage there is available.
Niether boat was badly damaged—— co- pilot has a badly lacerated arm but if the hull had not been Carbon it could have been so much worse.
Afraid there will be calls for full safety canopy in the P1 class before long Pilgrim.

P1 Safety Cells - Not "If", but "When"?

First time I happened to see P1 racing on TV, I couldn't believe these individuals were racing "offshore" sized hulls using "pleasure boat - poker run" seats again. 70 mph or 170 mph, doesn't matter...something will happen eventually and it did. I was also startled to see these guys were racing close enough to trade paint in the turn pins. The accident made its way on to national TV news this weekend.

I have blown the footage up and slowed it down and it appears that the outside boat made a hard left hand turn into the path of the inside boat. I can't believe that it was intentional which makes me think of mechanical failure. If there is aerial footage, it would answer all or most of the questions.

    .
Craig fabricated a safety cell for the P1/s ——— the new carbon lightweight hulls are pushing the 80mph mark ——— this is 6/7 mph faster than last years boats!
Due to mitigating factors and costs——- it was put on hold until next season,

Would like to see that slo—mo Bob, eitherpost it, or failing that, send me a PMwith it included!
The 21 was Craig’s boat from last year and won seven races in his hands——— was in the hands of a rookie this year.?

Clutching at straws Pilgrim——— we all think we know what’s wanted——- but due to the nature of the beast, and this being Powerboat Racing, it’s not going to happen overnight!
