That’s better——— had a good fortywinks——- shower and clean underpants—— nearly good as new.
Coughing like an old kitchen stove. Willabee’s going to yell “far too much information” when he comes back from church. If you don’t like the chapter, then you shouldn’t be reading the book.
Never did get a bacon sandwich this morning——— although there was a “farty” egg sandwich for lunch. This consists of hard boiled eggs mashed and thrashed with mayonnaise———- guaranteed to give you Olympic winning farts !
Killed the general knowledge Sunday crossword over lunch——— the kitchen goddess loves that part of the weekend.
Looks like all the old farts have gone for communion this morning——-even the Pilgrims gone quiet, well it is Sunday morning and folk got better things to do than listen to another old farts ramblings.
Ill give it a couple of hours, if nobody comes out to play I’ll close it down until tomorrow.

Sorry Fuji--I am old enough to have raced against Don S.

In fact I remember him breaking an arm in a 'Monza' ---- a boat built by my 'Ex Cousin-in-Law (Twice removed)' Steve W.

Go for it Gene——-dontcha just love it when you know somebody got it wrong—— especially when you know better and can put them straight!
Funny how much clearer the mind gets once your over 87—— Only last week I remembered the coronation of George V1 around 1935/6—- got a day off school for that one———— and a porcelain mug with a picture of the happy couple !

Champion Marine was a beautiful facility. One of our own was the General Manger-(Richie)

    A few years ago, Doc and I were on the ramp at ASE---Doc was talking to Jeffry, welcoming him as a new neighbor to STARWOOD;

I was admiring his new CHALLENGER. Jeff said 'that's not mine, they (Bombardier) are just letting me use it till they complete my new GLOBAL'-----

...Thats right. Forgot about that Gene. You remember who the Monza belonged to? It wasn't Don's I don't think(?) Jeff Soffer raced with Kaiser in his red Cougar Cat named "The Budweiser" for a year or two. It had turboed Chevy engines and although they ran quite a few races, never finished a single one.

...Yes, it was a really beautiful & well set-up facility. And all brand new. I remember everyone on 188th thinking...they worked there butts for years & years to build up all they're boat company's & property's...and the local rich kid turns 18 & just builds a state-of-the-art Mercury Hi-performance Offshore Sales & Service, in about a months time. A lot of resentment there. Yes, Richie Powers was the General Manager there. Made him an offer he couldn't refuse. They parted ways when Ritchie got an offer that was more fun. Ritchie is a great guy & friend.

Was 1969 when I first met Ritchie—— GG had just been made head of Hi- Perf and I dropped a clanger by calling him Gary Garbage, he was not amused and blocked the ride Bill Steele had promised Don Ross and myself in Havasu.
There was nothing there except a bunch of constructors huts, tumbleweed—— and three hotels ! It was known as “SITE 6”——— Bob McCulloughs answer to Lake X.
Scottie won, and one of his prizes was a lakeside plot of land which he was asking a thousand dollars for——— Monday after the race you could have bought it for five hundred !
Mercury always rented a house for some of the crew——— Molly Ballou was den mother Husband Ken was always up to his fetlocks looking after the rigs.
You should have seen the housekeeper——— Jane Russel lookalike but with style!.
Angelo and Renato and the Rasini brothers plus half the Italian Federation and timekeepers were housed next door.
Omc had their own rental house in the next street——— seemed like there was only a few dozen houses been built at that time.
Thing I Remember most was how bloody hot it was during the day——- and how FECKIN cold it was when the sun went down.
James Beard was there—— got the idea to build an offshore wing—- “VOLARE” a very successful race boat——- but he always denied he got the idea from the “SWITZER”.
Deiter Schultze turned up with a boat of his own build——- he always gave a good account of himself wherever he raced.
Forgot to tell you—— I’m confined to bed again today——- had a bad night, coughing and spluttering—- her who sleeps next to me is well and truly pissed off at me——— there may be more posts on the “TRICKS” site. Later in the day !

Yeah Well, I can only stay in bed for so long before I get the “ItchyTwitchies”—— thought I might get a bit of info from UTUBE as to how the tests went with the 4*6 V8 ——- that’s a laugh for a start ! Ask a silly question like “How far does it go on a gallon of gas”? You’re bound to get an even sillier answer————- HOW LONG IS A PIECE OF STRING .... ???Honest to Murgatroyd——- it’s on UTube!
Ok, so it’s quiet and vibrates gently——- feckinwell ought to —- it’s the price of a Caddi
How much does it weigh ? Reasonable request I thought !——— answer——- OH, ABOUT THE SAME AS A VERADO ! Now unless you are a walking encyclopaedia, you will have no idea what a VERADO weighs.
I would have thought that Mercury might just have done some testing in the USA or Even Canada——- But no———— guess where they tested——— Australia!!!
Next question “When can I take delivery of a new 4*6 V8 “?
Answer! Well get your order in early and with a bit of luck you could be looking at June or July ! In the old days, we would have said “ILL GET BACK TO YOU”
Doesnt this give you ulcers Bernie ? We were taught better than that——- something along the lines of “CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP”
So I clicked on the RACING MERCURY DIESEL MOTOR , two stroke——- no, I am not kidding—— it’s out there on UTUBE ———- you want to know what a bag of nails in a tin bucket sounds like——- take a look and turn on the sound.
Just where and when and on which barn door are you going to race a MERCURY RACING DIESEL TWO STROKE .?
It must weigh a fair bit —— I got backache just looking at it !
Can I have a bit of dialogue here from somebody in the company who I sincerely hope can shoot me down in flames and tell Me I got it all wrong.
everybody gone quiet all of a sudden——— even the Pilgrim And Bobby V have gone on vacation?

Well Jackie: We could always go back to 1970 and put a 250HP oil cooled rotary as an I/O with no dog house in a boat. It only weighed 150 lbs and would out run a 327 Metc.
