Dolphins finally buggered off back to wherever they came from and there was one race on the Sunday around four pm. Pilgrim!

In all the years I raced at the Stadium nobody ever hit a dolphin. First of all they are so quick and smart you couldn't hit one if you tried. Second as soon as a bunch of race boats started to circulate inside the Stadium the dolphins would quickly leave. I am guessing all the prop noise hurts their ears.

Unfortunately we live in a PC world where the tree huggers and do gooders like to piss on everybody’s parade under the guise of “ what a good boy am I “

Was the recent problem at the Stadium--Dolphins or Manatees?

Thursday, no points for guessing where I’m heading this morning———- it’s one of those gorgeous summer mornings that you only get once in a while !
Made headway with the concept————- need a couple of race bikes and four race cars———
Decided to make a fresh raceboat———- needs a Champ boat tunnel——- Quincey looper on a KT wasn’t the right one !
Still, it could all change depending on what I pick up at the car boot sale.

That big yellow ball always brings out the frantic hordes——— suddenly, everybody’s junk has a “HARRODS” price tag———- cars that were cast off kids toys for two quid a pop, have suddenly become “COLLECTORS ITEMSl @ £10 a throw !
Had one of my mad fits of depression and bought more tripe that I didn’t need or want———- it’s a disease dontcha know ! car booters have been sent to the loony bin ——— once bit it’s worse than booze ever knew how to be——— there are carboot correction centres opening up everywhere——— both The temperance society and the Sally Army gave it up as a bad job———— there has never been a successful case of salvation. It’s for life.

Made an all aluminium champboat——— Tried it underneath the Quincy looper——- looks great—— question now is, what motor ?, one of the trusted and tried two cycle V6’s——- one of the ugly “Giggling Prawns “?—— or the new ridiculous over the top ——- over designed, 3.6 four cycle Mercury with a profile like a Botocelli fat lady in high heels ?
I think the guy who designed it was drunk as a skunk on White Lightning or Pocheen!
I’ll sleep on it——- though one things for sure—— it won’t look any better in the morning!

What was it Pruett used to say——- UGLY AS A STACK OF ASSHOLES ON A MUD FENCE !

Woke up early—-2:35 am and decided to slap the latest Mercury four stroker on the Champ boat.
Have made all the others at one time or another, the straight six and the V6 as well as the “giggling prawn”.
With a bit of artists licence I can surely make it a tad prettier than it really is !
Weather looks set to be “FAIR” for the next couple of weeks everywhere I’ll be——— Rome- Naples- Gibraltar- Malta Sicily and Barcelona! Of course, the weather here at home is going to be better than where we’re headed———- it’s called “SODS LAW”

Wow—— is that ever just the dogs cajones ——- Awesome! THE newest concept is without a doubt the best! Now I have just two days to finish it——- I have bits I need to find before I can call it a day!
But a pair of all metal raceboats from different eras on one of the greatest mounts of all time is coming along quite nicely.
My son and grandson tell me I never finish anything, I should spend more time on perfecting the “OBJECTIVE”——— tried telling em, I don’t do PERFECTION. IM AN EIGHTY SIX YEAR OLD ———- simply trying to keep the little grey cells active——— stop arthritis seizing up my hands——— keep from under the feet of the kitchen goddess. Surely that’s not too ambitious!
In reality——- I have one more day on the thingy——- if it gets finished how I want it ——- I’ll take a piccie and post it here. If it’s not finished, you’ll have to wait until I get Back!

Another “OKLAHOMA” morning——— by Monday temperatures should be 85 degrees———that’s hotter than Morocco and Majorca————- WHY ?———- because I’m leaving——- going on holiday to find some sun! Costing a bloody kings ransom, and what do get ?——- hottest May bank holiday on record———- shoulda stayed home.
Last car boot and scrapyard visit this morning——- guess what, I’m going in T shirt and shorts—— well you have to, Cant go there in my anorak and woolly hat in wall to wall sunshine.
Get back to you later if the concept pans out——— If it don’t you’ll have to wait a couple of weeks, just talk among yourselves meantime.

We can talk about the new Merc v8 outboard
Will it be heavier than on OMC v8 outboard?
Should it have a duoprop box as an option?

Now your telling me something I didn’t know Pilgrim———- Mercury V8 ? ——- How can it possibly be heavier than a V8 OMC?——— My Cosworth and it’s ancillaries plus the leg weighed less than that OMC.
My own hallowed opinion is——— all these “Giggling drunken prawn Motors” are way too FECKIN huge and heavy to be classed as Outboards ! But me myself do not set the industry standards ! Wonder how long it will be before the V10 appears? ———- then they will probably come on with a V16 before trying a double bank of radials—————— wonder if it will have a wraparound clamshell or folding Composite covers to conform to local by- laws and tree hugger demands.
Could never quite see the point of sticking one prop in front, or behind the other, unless you were selling two as opposed to one prop !
Looks like we’re heading for the ultimate HOLY GRAIL in outboards———- the 18 cylinder double stacked Radial/Rotory !
Praise the Lord——- We got the ammunition.

A 350 Verado is 100lbs heavier than an old OMC V8
You need the duoprop as the blade load on heavy boats gets too high with under 15" diameter props so they perform better with 2
Thats why Seven Marine have them as well
Dont forget Merc knew this and made a HP engine the Deuce High, 2 speed duo prop outboard years ago.
