Tricks that old racers get up to after retirement

For crying out loud, what the hells wrong with this old iPad of mine———it’s got a bloody mind of its own !
All I did was pick a piccie out of the files ( the right way up ) and the damnuseless piece of modern technology inverts it ?
Or maybe it’s me !
Anyway , question is this———- who remembers “MISS TITTIE”. Twin stacker Molinari with the weird S bottom ———- really Did haul asse——— but the bitch was a tad lively and unpredictable——- Renato dumped it rather heavily in practice, so it never made the start line——- Havasu 1969 If memory serves me right ?
I believe it went back to Oshberg for major surgery, I kinda lost track of it after that ?
C’mon Gene or Willabee——— one of you should remember what happened to the dear girl .

Oh yes, that’s Ridgell in the Blanket jacket——— Him, Pruett and I bought one apiece at the Indian Trading post ——— somewhere in Arizona ?
I do believe I have a picture somewhere of Ridgell,Pruett and Downard!

The base was known as Framlingham (see google) I was fortunate enough to have been taken there on a visit several years ago..well worth it especially for someone like your goodself with a family link.....Try to get a minute or two on your own with no distractions, dead fields are very emotive...

That's the one. There is a painting of a B-17 flying over Framlingham castle. It was the home of the 390th Bomb Group. They have a pretty good museum in Tuscon AZ. Also a very good website.

Bomber stations were usually situated in the NorthEast and the flatlands of Norfolk and Suffolk———- whilst the fighters squadrons were based mainly in the south, usually along the coast of Kent , Sussex and Hampshire Theres half a dozen old wartime stations within ten minutes of my house, Tangmere (has a great museum). Ford ( navy hunter station ) Selsey, and many more long forgotten airfields.
My dad was stationed at Linton-on -Ouse just outside York——— he flew 36 ops over Germany and survived———- 406 squadron——- flew “Halifax’s”———- just saying!

Looks like a SCHIADA or Mandela——-XT drag boat——- always loved those flatties with wicked horsepower ————- some of the prettiest boats ever built!

Yes. Been there several times. The 390th Bomb Group has a building on the grounds of the Pima Air Museum. When my folks got too old to travel alone we would go to the reunions with them. Every 5th reunion was held in Tuscon at the Museum. Two years ago my brother and I took a short flight in a restored B-17.

The Pima Air Museum is right across the street from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. This base houses the "bone yard" of the Air Force". A lot of the planes are just sitting there waiting to be cannibalized. For exhibits pretty much all the museum has to do is tow one across the street an stick a sign in the ground.

Most (or all maybe) of the planes are outside. It’s fun to look at on google earth!

Amazing all the stuff out there. B-52’s, C-17’s, C-130’s, A-10’s, Neptune’s, B-1’s, apaches, F-15’s, F-16’s, some junk I don’t even know what they are! Neat to look at on google earth. There’s more in California too...

I think it is number three in the world!! In the past few years more and more aircraft are inside hangars--

This is the SR-71--my friend Pat has over 600 hours at MACH 3!!

I don’t understand the reasoning behind canceling that program. There’s nothing else that can do what the SR-71 did!
