Well Jackie, the local pub was actually local to where he was filming a movie at the time. He was filming the movie "The Gladiator", in Valletta, Malta. After the days film work, Oliver, his wife Josephine, some Maltese friends, & some crew members of the Frigate HMS Cumberland, which was docked at nearby Valletta Harbor, were all drinking at a pub called "The Pub in Archbishop Street" at 2.30 a.m. He married Josephine when she was still a teenager. She was 35 when he died. They both lived in a home for many years in Churchtown, and their local favorite, frequently honored Irish Pub in Churchtown, was named "O'Briens". Josephine remarried, a local Churchtown chap, two years after Oliver died, which was 1999.

I bow to your superior knowledge Fuji------last I heard of him before he died was that he had married a young girl and settled down, moderated his drinking and still lived in the palatial pile on the Dorking road in the village of Okewood Hill------had a socking great rhinoceros parked outside the gate.
By that time I had moved out to France------afraid he was never in my circle of friends anyway. Didn't stop him being a bit of a hell raiser!

Being Thursday thought I might tootle off to the car boot sale, for want of anything better to do. Things coming to a pretty pass when you can still get excited about a bag of nails, ( panel pins actually). The only thing I bought today------a whole pound for five tubs full.
Finally stopped raining and the wind died down, not before it dumped half the eating apples on the ground-------still , one mans bad luck means the goats over the fence eat well today.
Poorly Paw is down to about twice the size of a normal mitt-------off to the hospital Friday ---see if they can do anything (except chop the bugger off -----I've grown quite fond of the fist over the years).
Looked into the workshop------its in a sorry old state-----unloved and unused for well over a month ----- nothing quite as depressing as an unused machine shop collecting dust -----unless it's a good looking woman in a chastity belt !

Dislike being chair bound-----it's only a hop, skip and jump from being bed bound. Really have curtailed all useful and strenuous activities-------hasn't made a blind bit of difference-----I know things don't heal as quick when you get past a certain age ------but hells teeth I'm years away from that "Certain age"
Wilson Golf sticks been sent to the charity shop-----wHen I said I was through golfing, my days of swinging' a club are well and truly over-----I meant it, Just wish I could remember where I put my .Callaways ?

Looks like Jilly's Hibiscus tree has been struck by lightning------split asunder-----she's not nice to be around this morning--------spitting feathers! Good job she can't get hold of the lightning man !
Finally stopped raining------I'd almost forgotten what that big yellow thing up in the sky was, looked down at my feet to make sure they weren't webbed.
Damned Poorlie Paw hasn't improved-------five weeks today since I whacked the ground instead of the ball. Something's not quite right and I'm pig sick of snivelling and feeling sorry for myself-----something needs to be done-------see what the doctors have to say.
Murphy brought in a live one last night while we were watching TV-----Jilly's shriek could have been heard in Tasmania-------she ran out of the room, slamming the doors shut------demanding I get rid of the rodent (and Murph)! Tried valiantly for an hour or so, shifting furniture so the cat could see the mouse--------I came to the conclusion the cat and the mouse are really good friends and this is just a game.

Been to see the Quack (Again), not sure that was the brightest thing I ever did-----need another set of tests, bloods, scans, the whole nine yards.
Somethings wrong! He says------told you that five weeks ago and it's still wrong.
Next visit is Tuesday------I'm getting well pissed with being 85-----I want to go back to being 83---- that's when I was happy and pain free with hands that worked
Whoever said there's no joy in getting old, had it about right. So I'm not, I'm getting younger from here on in. Found out what makes a grumpy old man ------HE HURTS. How the hell can you be happy and hurt-----it's just not possible!

jackie. with regards to hibiscus. they consist of the softest pulp imaginable. if you have resently had a strong wind or storm, they will break, especially if they are a bit older bush/tree. 'if" done immediately, before the break has a chance to dry out, you can tightly graft the break back together, and it will take a majority of the time. tightly wound string is useful. or multiple short pieces of twisted wire, or? they thrive in the tropics & as you know hibiscus grow rampantly in south florida. have numerous colors of them.

Bummer. Stick a new one in the ground. Water it. They grow fast. Especially with a little fertilizer. The sooner you plant a new one, the sooner you'll get new buds.

Thers a huge selection of market gardeners at the car boot sale------can't say I've ever seen a Hibiscus tree for sale, but then again, I never really looked, as I never wanted one before.
Last night was "Showtime" in the Wilson house, Jilly was climbing the furniture while the Murph and min show took place on the hearth rug-------the mouse that invaded the lounge has evaded all attempts at eviction. Continues to terrify her who shall be obeyed and stands on its hind legs Boxing the resident feline who has turned out to be the biggest WUZ in the history of cats.
Reckon the same thing must have happened with either "Hannah" or "Barbara" with TOM AND JERRY.
I tell you, the lady of the house is not amused-----my parentage is very much in doubt and my "Allowance" is in jeopardy.
cant lie here all day-----I got places to go and people to see!

If I'd asked for a fellopial fungelwort there could not have been a blanker expression on the growers faces ! Seemed reasonable to ask if anyone had a "Hibiscus" tree or bush-------if I'd asked to sleep with their grandma, it would have not been such a shock question.
"Never heard of that one, -----you sure you got it right------I got a HUCALIPTUS "
Was told ----They don't grow in this country ! Rare as rocking horse sh-t, were just a couple of the comments.
Search is on, I'm HIBISCUS HUNTING ---feel like Sydney Greenstreet hunting for the Maltese Falcon.
Nothing exciting at either the car boot sale or the scrapyard, unless you count a bag of beefsteak tomatoes------four green peppers----two eggplants and a cucumber as thrilling !
Pissed off with the Poorlie Paw so spent an hour in the shop pretending I knew what I was doing.
Theres only so many "James Patterson" -----Tom Clancy----Baldacci and Freddy Forsyth books you can read before you go litterateur crazy!
Its a bugger when you look forward to hospital visits in case they manage to solve the mystery of the Poorlie Paw -------told you I've been reading too many damn books!

Your anemic. You lack enough healthy red blood cells or hemoglobin, to heal at a normal rate. For starters, for the rest of your life, take a vitamin C tablet in the morning with breakfast. Doctors only want to prescribe drugs, as you already know, which are not always the answer. There's more to it than that.

Doctor Fujimo-----I have never been Anemic in my life______i have more healthy BLUE blood cells than Prince Charles------I have a list of would be receivers of this wonder juice that would fill a library, willing to pay a kings ransom just to lick the needle mark.
I heal quicker than Usain Bolt-----a month ago I had a vitamin booster shot-----due for the next one this coming Tuesday. Beginning to suspect that may be the cause of the problem , so forgive me if I don't share your enthusiasm for vit pills
I get the usual explanation as to the problem!-------ITS YOUR AGE------you must need vitamins because you're over twenty five.
After the Triple by-pass 28 years ago I was put on a couple of beta blockers a day------seems to have worked pretty damn good up to now, so I think I'll stick with em a while longer.
Apparently I tore a bunch of tendons or ligaments, which I am reliably informed, take a good deal longer to heal than a broken bone !
Hereby begs the question-----do I listen to the sawbones and nurses-------or my learned friend -----
DOCTOR FUJIMO.?
Was good of you to take time out to sort my problem------whilst I may not necessarily agree with the prognosis, I thank you for your concern !
