I suppose most of them are destined to be museum/collectors pieces......Would any of more recent examples be suitable for todays racing conditions?

Theres a number of old boats racing currently Phill, both circuit and offshore------prime example is "Miss GIECO" coming up twenty years old---------also a fair number of DAC'S------boats rarely lasted more than one season when I was a lad.
The COSWORTH is coming up forty years old, hull appears sound, but I wouldn't like to push it at WOT today.
Wonder whether glass or wood lives longest?

Certainly was Pilgrim, bought by one of the Jausaume boys, was friends with Paul and Didier Jeausaume for over thirty years, met up with them at Paris, Amsterdam, Milan and the like. They always ran French made boats, both were excellent drivers, no telling how good they really were, pity they never had a really good boat, i.e.: Molinari, Seebold, Burgess, history might have been different.
Apparently it's going to have a total makeover both engine and boat wise.
must apologise for not knowing the correct spelling of "Jeusaume" , totally unforgivable.

Careless moment with the overhand planer-------nearly got bitten by the bugger, this time, I got lucky, but made a mess of my favourite cashmere.
i had this chunk of beautifully grained elm under the wood lath-------I just done a sharp up on some of my spokeshaves-------one thing led to another-----------Da Silva and beautiful piece of wood was mentioned --------must have got carried away.
This time I'll send it to John Schubert to paint and varnish and detail--------refuse to screw up any more concepts.

HI Jackie its good to hear the Jeusaume brothers are still around today I was teamed up with Didier Jeusaume for the 1976 Paris 6hr race we drove a Cougar boat together that was the last year before they moved us up to the OZ class and i got to know him quiet well.If you have any contact details to get in touch with him I would appreciate if you can pm me any info you have.
Does anybody recognise that boat in the background of this picture?.Stevi P

Definitely a hodges, there were only ever two built [that i remember] that had the rear diffusers, wings, pretty useless add ons call them what you will----- they never worked anyway.
I had the first one -----my friend Adam Leszczar had the second one------He sold it to John Nicholson who raced it under "PINCH"-------boat in the picture could be that one after Nick-Nick finished racing!
My memory is not the infallible piece of kit that it used to be Steve------but i have a feeling that one of the Jeusaume brothers Paul and Didier was involved in a fatal boat accident.
Read it on the grapevine that Messuir Jeasaume was the winning bidder for the V8 rig and was intending to restore it back to concours.
Will ask Rolla if he has an address for him-----he is a walking Websters of all power boating people!

As the man said "Times they are a changing"-----went past the local garage here in the village, only to find the whole place flattened ! Apparently the owner got planning consent for a dozen high quality houses on the site. `
Told me if he worked very hard for the rest of his life, he could never make anything like the money he received for the land. So, he retired , will never work again, he lived happily ever after---------------the village lost its local garage, where you could get a tyre changed, a hinge welded, a dent straightened, shoot the breeze, catch up on the gossip. Been like that for nigh on 100 years------not any more!
Why do i feel so sad?

Jackie,
Was good to see you at OFF. I want to thank you again for the model you made. It has a place of honor in our house. It was also good to get a good look at the Cosworth again. I took pictures of all the models you had on display. Lots of talent there. Glad to see you still turning them out.
Thanks again,
Butch Stokes
