Who to send 2.5 block to for machime work.

Who is the best to send a 2.5 block to for sleeves, porting and exhaust work? Sent my stuff to a guy almost 2 years ago, still haven't go it back.

Power Performance Eng. in Clearwater Fl. is the best that I know of but he is also busy. Give him a call and see if he can get you in. His work has incredible results. Diamond in Miami also builds killer 2.5s.

I don't want to call his name at this point. I have talked to him several times and he seems like a hell of a nice guy. I know he had some problems health wise, but he has completed stuff for people in a timely manner that I know personally. It's not the guy that took over Ruck's shop or Eagleone. I don't want to cause him any problems with his reputation either. I'm only out of a block and a front half, if I can buy another and send it to someone who can do it by the end of the year I won't be out a lot of money.

Don't forget the part that the block you sent was a brackish water block that was very corroded and when I pulled the sleeves out the block was out of round badly and I was going to install 6 over sized new sleeves for the $250 I was going to charge for the porting because it had taken so long to get to it because I was backed up. Then I was doing the additional work to it at no charge because of the time frame (not my full time job) and that your original block got damaged when cutting the rod slots. The original block I was going to use to replace yours was cracked at the poppet into cylinder 5 and I had to start on another block. So you are getting a nice fresh water block with no corrosion that has 6 new ported sleeves, exhaust chest cut, exhaust exit opened, and rod slots cut and is 75 times nicer for $250 but has just taken me a while to do. As far as Matt's block it was install 2 sleeves which my helper can do in his sleep but most of the work that your block gets only I do. Like comparing adding steps to a porch and building a house.

Your block WILL be done on the 27TH be here to get it.

Here is what it looked like after I removed the sleeves. I had to cut #5 out because it was so out of round and wouldn't pull out after it was heated and you can see my cut marks in the picture. Then the block was so out of round that the back of the sleeves where rusted between the block and the sleeves and you can see the rust stains on the block in the pictures. That is why I offered to install 6 new sleeves in it for you to correct the interference issues and to prevent a failure due to distortion. This was also when I was trying to get my machine set up to cut the sleeves and I had to write all the programs to do so which took forever.

So the block is now done (and has been) and it is still here. Would have posted sooner but I lost my older brother Sunday. So I guess it is good you didn't come t get it.
You need to contact me to arrange payment and pick. You already have the heads as Matt took them.

Here is the new block and all the mods. Which take just a few minutes....

    1) 6 new over-sized custom ported sleeves bored back to STD bore.
    2) Exhaust chest cut from a small chest to a 45* large chest (factory is 52*) you can see how long the exhaust ports in chest are and how short the "ant hill" are. Better angle.
    3) Rod slots cut and then roughened.
    4) Oil injection gear filled in.
    5) Exhaust exit opening cut to HP size.
    6) Block head surfaces have been decked
    7) Divider surface has been decked.

    Not bad for $250 I don't think.

So look at the previous pic and compare the block you sent to the one you are getting because I did damage the original block. But make sure you tell people the WHOLE story
and what all you were getting done for free out of the kindness of my heart. I could have slapped it together and then you would have been mad because you got 2 hours on it
and it blew because it was in such poor shape. Look at all the fly by night machinist there have been on S&F that have fell by the wayside. I'm still recommended for a reason.

Beautiful work as usual this thread is another example of why A lot of the good guys don't post on here anymore.
