Foraging day, Saturday at the scrapyard-----still reeling at the big bag of gold I was paid for the four brass instruments--------a Senor -------aradondinelloati from Italy finally bought them on eBay -------Lets hope I can emulate the feat again today.
Slept in again this morning, took one of the thousand miles an hour horse aspirins, woke up with the pain gone but was well turned six am.
Try and send you something interesting later----been a bit full of my own importance lately, must apologise.

I just don't know where the time goes------went through the scrapyard like a dose of salts-------picked a few unusual bits up, a stainless milking bucket, a couple of solid blocks of alli that could make concept outboards ! Some quarter stainless tube and a very nice bit of Victorian silver lattice work bottle holder (wine methinks).
Called in at the car boot sale------needed some yellow Hammerite for Adams boat---- stuck half a dozen coats on it this afternoon------beginning to look half tidy------finished engraving the base, that's passable. You could be on for a piccie tomorrow. At least, this one resembles a Hodges.

Absolutely chucking it down------looks set in for the night------saves me watering the garden.

Hamilton blitzed the opposition to take pole in Italy -------but I've seen him Left for dead at the start several times this season, so it's not cut and dried yet.

Jackie....Hammerite is for garden gates and bus chassis.....get some proper etch primer (for ally/stainless) or primer filler (for wood.. it fills the grain) and some proper rattle can top coat from Halfords in Chichy and do a proper job.

The devils in the detail with painting it just needs patience bit like boat racing really....remember John Hill expert painter/racer.

Just back from a triple bypass so don't kick back too hard.............Phill.

Nice to know you're back Phill-------thanks for all the advice on painting----unfortunately, I don't even like painting concepts.
Welcome to the double M club ( mutilated and mended) ------had my triple bypass 27 years ago, told 'em then they got it wrong-------I could never do the four minute mile after it, so I stopped even trying.
Next four weeks are the most uncomfortable ------it gets easier after that.

Thats the Hodges concept that i cobbled together for Adam.
Oh yes, it's finished in Hammerite baby crap yellow-------well, I didn't have anything else, and I never did profess to be a painter.

Hamilton made a right pigs ear of the start----- now he's got his work cut out to win this one-------if he ever hopes to be an all time great-----today would be a good time to start.
I must have put the mockers on him this morning with my start concerns----- still, long way to go yet, and he's not hanging about!

I don't watch F1 anymore, but on the iPad Pro -----I can see what's going on in the world!

No Bob, I got moon craters, galactic lagoons, and a thumb print------no kewpie doll for me today.

Im of the opine that Hamilton has what it takes to win four world titles--------but he's got to get out of the traps a whole lot better ! Whether or not he ever eclipses Schumacher remains to be seen, there's a lot of new talent waiting in the wings, he should have had this one wrapped up by now -------time to stop "Goofing off".

Time to start counting numbers for the OFF GOLF TOURNEY,
Bill and Betty Baker are happy to organise the event at Zellwood Station, but they have moved house and think it's too far to travel for a Barbie.
Alternative is to have a dinner and prize giving in the restaurant at Zellwood with a bar where you buy your own booze.
I have most of the trophies already made and will be shipping them out later this month.

Still can't believe over seventy old farts actually responded to Rich's request for a place at the party table------maybe "Times, they are a changing".

See that Steve Curtis and Richard Carr in the old rebuilt 46' Cougar, came first in yesterday's Cowes Torquay race,
Three finishers, average speed was a tad over Fifty mph ------a bunch of non starters-----piss poor field for such a great race-------where have all the flowers gone ?
Monday again, chucking it down----20 summit in full swing--------Obama wagging his finger at GB for leaving Brussels-----tells us we have to wait in line behind the EU for any trade deals-----get real , Obama------you got a short memory------guess who always jumps in and watches YOUR back in times of stress. All we did was vote for independence -----well, we got it, just like the US did a few years back. ----------FYI Mr. P. ------We don't wait in line for anyone.
Canada and Australia have given their approval-------pound is getting back on track -----there has been no meltdown ---------Merkel lost hands down over her stupid wide open border policy! If things don't change before long-----there won't be any EU or EURO !

Here endeth the Monday morning sermon !

Spent the whole day packing up concepts ! Some to Roger H., some to Mark, idea is that they get to the church on time !
Looks like we're going to have one of those "Indian Summers"------it's hot and humid and overcast, with a promise of a weeks sunshine to follow.
Getting a tad excited, booked the flight to Fort Lauderdale-------had to be cattle class on Norwegair, good deals on business class had long since gone.
Coming in a week early so I can get in a few days at Key West, Serra promised me a fishing trip years ago, still waiting, maybe this year.

Been beavering away all day, in actual fact, achieved very little. Front porch has more parcels than the main Arundel post office, sold a bunch of gear on eBay --------granddaughter Kate in Stuart wanted me to make her a turtle------did that and found a pot one at the car boot sale and two brass ones at the scrapyard. Sold the trumpets and the trombone to a guy in Italy! Decided to send Roger H a bunch of wings and "Pughies" and things just in case I don't make Tavares.'
We had "Lizzie" all day----- she's been good as gold and has actually learned to call me grandpa Jack today. Mums due back from work around six tonight to collect her.
See if I can work up some enthusiasm for work tomorrow------managed to clear all the concepts that were cluttering up the shop for the last few weeks.
Dont worry Roger-------you got 20kgms of wings , Pughies, Motors, The odd Rolls Royce and lord knows what-------it'll be just like Christmas opening this particular parcel-------Ipost are due to pickup sometime tomorrow --------there's a wee box I found at the facility for Margo tucked in there somewhere. Enjoy it Roger, but I know you will !
some of the concepts might want a bit of spit and polish before they get put up for auction.
The ones for Butch Stokes, Jim Hunt, Ted Boyd and Gene Langham are not for sale------lets hope we make a shilling or two out of the "Pughies" to pay the postage costs.

I'll be on the look-out for these. I'm sitting cumfee in our "new" office (converted a guest bedroom over) surrounded by two Switzer Wing models/concepts, Miss Windy concept, Daniel J Murphy award, various boat racing pictures, and 6 Alterscale 1/8 models. Butch, Jim, Ted and Gene ought to be worried....but if they behave, they'll get to Tavares OK.
Looking forward to seeing y'all there!

I can just picture you now opening that box Roger-------twenty kilos of "Concepts"------will be a bit of a jigsaw to stitch them all back together again, but I have every confidence in you---------why does a picture of a dog with two dicks keep flashing through my mind.
Would be fun if Margo switched on the movie camera while you were opening the box.
Reason I split the delivery of all the models is due to last years cock up, when the trophies didn't arrive until the morning of the tourney------this way, with a fair wind and a downhill run and a kind gesture from the customs, things should improve. Enjoy them Roger!
By the way------cost of today's postage was over $250------but that was for all the parcels I sent out!

Now that's a very old foto Dave-------when I was a four eyes---------it's ten years since I had the cataracts done. Chose long vision, so I only need specs for bible reading and sex ? Even today, I can read any book in the sunlight, but under artificial lights I need the optics, did leave the "Arthur Miller" look in France.
Off down to Hamble tomorrow for a last trip on the Sunseeker before the season closes. Youngest daughter Sam and spouse------Fishie and Ange and me.
Just treated myself to a little Leica digital camera------afraid I give cameras a hard time, they tend to dislike sawdust and filings and I'm having problems with the Sony's, so it's time to bite the bullet and move on. Upshot is, you could have some much improved piccies of "TRICKS THAT OLD BOAT RACERS GET UP TO" !
