Took the day off yesterday, went out on the Sunseeker with my sister, slowly cruised up the HAMBLE river, nearly to Botley, saw the swans showing off their little 'uns-----really nice and tranquil afternoon.
Haad supper at the Fish Factory in Littlehampton.
Almost forgot, bought half an aircraft at the car boot sale yesterday-----three huge containers of nuts, cogs and gears-------some wonderful gear in that lot!

Just saw this on FaceBook. Sad news...

Many of you boat racers already know from Tim Thibodaux, but I received this message from Corey Thibodaux who asked that I send it on !

Same in this neck of the woods Gene, Mark came over for a week, saw him briefly at Sams birthday bash------told me he would call in to see me on Monday-------he went back to Florida Wednesday ----bloody good job I didn't hold my breath?

Sad to hear of the passing of Gene Thibadeaux -----he used to race in the Fonda series-----lovely family man, well loved and liked by everyone. First time I met him I couldn't understand a word he said-----he had an accent as good as mine.
He was racing alongside, Billy and Mike Seebold, Chris Bush, Don Johnson, Jimmy Hauenstien, and all the European drivers.

Finally got got to fit the steering bar to the T5X, made up a suitable mount-----looks very "Pughish" (in my opinion). If I get time over the weekend I'll post a couple of piccies.

Saturday morning and scrapyard time-----I like to see what the world is chucking away this week.

Just one other little thing, it was Gene's boy Tim that introduced me to S&F a few years back-------you can blame him for my rantings.

Inspecting the the garden shed yesterday---------damn thing is nearly full--------need an extention.

After nearly three days of work and play, I finally emptied one box, it contained over 50,000 aircraft quality nuts bolts and washers-------most were packed in packets of 2-5-10-50-100-500. Apparently aircraft parts have a "shelf" life before they are scrapped-----I bought $50,000 worth for $50.
Next box is full of ball bearings, if anyone has a slingshot (catapult), I can offer you a couple of million round balls for $25---------no, I will not take them to Tavares .
Next box is too heavy to lift, has hundreds of exotic rose joints and swivel bearings-----one is priced at $256, I got ten of those!
Some of the items will make damn nice "Concept" stands, got more nuts and bolts in titanium and stainless than I could use in two lifetimes !
Taper bearings, roller bearings, mother in law bearings, bearing straights , compass bearings, child bearings? Seems I bought half a bloody aircraft!

Got sick to my tits of nuts and bolts, every drawer, every cupboard, every shelf is bustin at the seams with nuts bolts and washers--------just got two more damn boxes to go, but couldn't face it, so I started on the T6X. Should be able to take piccies afore long.

Hey Jim---past couple years there have been 'issues'--the FAA; the hydraulic system; the INSURANCE company. Presently I can fly the plane, but I must have a 'real' pilot in the right seat--Age discrimination??

Gene. You are my retirement hero. I have a long way to go to catch up. In two weeks I will be out 13 years.
