Now makes the hassle all worth while------seems it takes forever to do something that should take only moments----if I didn't do these things, I know damn well the fingers would not work as well they do, and the mind of an old fart can carry on the way it always has, or fade into obscurity unless it's fed and watered on a regular basis.

Hearing from you reminded me, I still have to finalise the MALIBUSTANG, I have the massive stainless stand to mount it on, as well as the steel rods for the vapour trails ------and the decals finally arrived, anytime soon I'll get around to stitching it all together !

They say "Practice makes perfect" -----that's bull sh-t---------I won't ever be perfect, but I'm a lot better at it than when I first started------(Same with sex !!!)

You doing anything special for new year Gene ? I don't do "RESOLUTIONS". Never was able to stick to them , so what's the point in making the damn things in the first place. Just bring it on, I'll make something of it one way or another.

I got three trips to the colony this year-------one next month to the Carribean ------next is in April to the Keys for Craig's wedding-----then there's Tavares in November . I'm determined to make this one something special, want to make a few very desirable "concepts" as golf trophies, just to get a few more old farts to compete. Also want to auction off a couple of very special "concepts" -----if only to show I'm getting better at it than I was!?!?

Oh yes-----believe it or believe it not-----I got a twelve month medical insurance cover-----means I don't get to order the new Lexus----but I do get picked up off the pavement if I have a "funny" turn.

Time to pack the iPad ----I'm rambling again, it's nearly midnight at the oasis ( that girl Maria Muilder could really belt out a song) night all, MYGGWY .J.

Aren't "Bucket" lists the very last thing you want to do before you actually "KICK THE BUCKET" ?
Sorry Gene, I'm not as old as you and haven't even thought of going down the bucket list road for a while yet-------figure I got at least five good working years left in me before I get off the lifetime express--------I'm still enjoying the view from "cattle class" but hope to get upgraded to "FIRST" or at worst "BUSINESS ECONOMY" for the last part of the journey!

Miserable day here still dark and it's going on eight o'clock -----the north of England still has severe floods and gales with six inches of rain forecast for today-----a lot of new year misery for some poor individuals.

I got some good shop time today, let's wait and see what transpires, could be cooking with gas, if I make significant progress I may post the odd piccie or two, so keep looking------have a nice day, it's the penultimate this year.!

Just as long as you understand, my stuff bears no resemblance to the real thing-----that's a "Proper toy" you got there, mine are Wannabees--------been on the Lembke concept all morning------made good progress, beginning to look the biz.
Will have a crack at the old MALIBUSTANG tomorrow------when it's all cobbled together, you can tell me what you think------it's ok, I got broad shoulders.

Jackie - I'm still here. Taking it a bit easy while recovering from yet another bit of cutting. Hernia repair this time. Jolly good fun. As usual, each new "concept" looks almost better than the real thing. I'm just waiting for you to try a Pratt & Whitney R2800. - Seeroy

Thank God for that-------was getting quite worried about you------you are always the first to comment!

Now tell me Stavros, is a Pratt & Whitney a a new cocktail or a pair of high class hookers ? Either way I need to try them!

I have a grandson who lives in San Francisco but he came back to visit over the Christmas period and spent the afternoon with me--------he was impressed with some of the stuff I made and asked if he could take a concept back to California . Took him down to the shed where he picked out a wing profile I did a couple of years back. Must be getting better when the grandkids take a second look-------even wanted it signed and dated---------admit it did put a big grin on my face!

Never made it back into the shop this afternoon, family is important too, sometimes you have to take time out and do what you feel is right, especially at Christmas .

Ok Stavros, I'm working on it--------you know I can't resist a challenge-------but eighteen pots is a tad ambitious, even for me, but watch this thread, it's full of crazy ideas!
Sent for the drawings of the DFV COSWORTH, going to have a crack at making a half decent lump to mount on a stand to sit alongside the V12 Jag and the twelve rotor outboard-----getting a little better with each motor I cobble together and I still got "Ambition" in bucketfuls.

Sincerely hope you get well soon my friend-------you can't have many more bits left to cut up!J.

Jackie, I think I need to get you back on track with these concepts....think RACE BOATS!

I've added a couple of pictures of the Diablo Concept (or whatever you call it) sporting its new counter rotating propellers. I have sent two of the propellers to John Schubert and one to Dave Bush for "Pughie". I got 12 of these from Terry Topjun, and will send the remaining ones to you this coming week. I also included the two black propellers that the Diablo Concept came with. Are there any other concept motors in the US that need propellers before I send these to the UK????? Let me know shortly. These props will handle the M4 screw size by drilling them out, but will work better with a smaller metric size. Terry didn't have any of the larger hub props left.
Take care....keep busy in the shop
    Regards,
    Roger

Just thinking out loud....here's an idea for a concept. I don't want to get banned from this site, as it isn't an outboard, but I only have the one - lol. This is Miss Windy, a 23' 1966 Staudacher now sporting a 1,100HP Dart based blower motor. Ought to sell it to Cadillac as that's what it rides like down the straights......the corners are another story - we won't go there. Yup! I love motors, any motor.

Now you've gone and done it Roger-------I'd almost forgotten the all wood outboards I made in the early days-----that big old wing of yours was one of my first attempts-----THEN I SAW THE STAUDACHER----That big old blower is just begging for creation as a "Concept". But one thing at a time, I still have to get a wriggle on and finish a couple of things I started earlier.

Both STAUDACHER and Larry LAUDABACH were racing In Valleyfield in '76. Met them both, true legends of our sport-------I could not understand a word Larry said, his accent was so Deep South to me.

It is rumoured in the annals of boat racing folklore that If you never raced Valleyfield ----- you cannot be considered a True Racer!

    HAPPY NEW YEAR ROGER.J.

That was the last time in the shop for this year-----------did get a wriggle on-------ET79 has had the final motor fit and all the exhausts are stitched into place!

Motored on with MALIBUSTANG and fitted it to the base------just have the vapour trails to cobble on to the wing and Voila ! We have lift off.

Stavros got me ticking------pulled out several chunks of stainless and alloys--------measured out the eighteen cylinders ( two banks of nine in radial form) I THINK. All I have to do is divide 360 X 9 and the race is on.

No piccies till next year-----ready for a fresh start, it's party time round at Steve's next door tonight , full monkey suits and dickie bows, so I will not be playing iPads tonight!

Thats it for this year folks---I wish all of you a joyous and Prosperous new year! J.

Jackie - i was only kidding about the R2800. Radial engines are a whole different world. Can be very temperamental. I've always said, starting a turbine is a procedure, starting a radial is an art. Kinda like a woman.
