Came across this 1/12th scale model V12 Jaguar.
Its obviously been well used in a previous life, then dropped from a dizzy height which damaged the see through engine cover, front screen and a couple of Windows.
In the back is a perfect replica V12 engine------right down to the last detail.
If anyone had a mind to own Gary Fergusons Parker winning Sidewinder----------this is the perfect donor car -------would save me weeks-------and I could never get it this good !

Wasnt happy with the plug leads on the COSWORTH so I ripped em out and started anew!
Life sure don't get easier------and it don't help none to know your getting dafter with advancing years.

You could be right on Pilgrim--------there's a label on it that says EXJ 220 it's a far eastern product, Jap, Chinky , maybe Tiawan, do not recognise the makers name, beautifully constructed, puts my efforts to shame I can tell you.
I'll pull the motor, then I can decide how big the concept will be, must try and make this one a bit special------you don't get many Parker Winners to the pound!

Jackie, I heard from Terry Topjun, and he's sending me 12 propellers left over from his Alterscale motor models. Should be available to get to you by the new year. This is the last of his supply. I know John Schubert needs one, and I need one for Pughie, and two for the Wooden Wing. The Wing has two black propellers, so I'll send them with what's left. Merry Christmas!

Thats great news Roger, I got a Duesey of a concept for the next one ------how bout the V 12 Sidewinder Mitch Lenske drove to victory at Parker in the early eighties?
You think that might just tickle the taste buds------got a slight problem though-------can't find a half decent picture of the boat--------you got anything worth while skulking around Roger ?

Jackie...only the prototype XJ220 had the V12, the production ones had the V6 out of the Metro 6r4. Check which version you have.. those heads look more 3 than 6.

But there again what do I know?...Phill from Bristol

Phill, look a little closer, both on the bodywork and the rocker covers it says XC220.
Could well be a V6 -------if it is-------I never saw a Jag with this amount of armoury surrounding it!
One way or another it's going in a concept boat.

Did you know I once was close to putting the "COLOGNE" Ford motor in a boat?

My guess is it is Mark writing under a pen name. Who else would have the intimate knowledge of racing, lives in South Florida and also has your family pictures of 50+ years ago? OK...so I won the contest and now you are sending me the second effort Cosworth on the trailer as a prize...Thank you very much

I reckon the Jag xj220 would have been way more popular had they used a v12

No way Bob---------Mark is like me------if he ever put ANYTHING on S&F he would put his name to it, not hide behind a nom de plume. Maybe now you understand my concern that someone who knows the family enough to have pictures from fifty years ago but likes to hide. Don't think I ever fell out with anyone bad enough that they had to hide from me!!

Second effort COSWORTH is better than the first by a country mile-------will bring it to Tavares and put it up for auction to help offset the postage costs--------unless someone makes a half decent offer for it before. Remember this thing is a heavy old lump probably over 14/15 lbs, so will be over .$50 to post to the USA .

Been stood at the bench all week and have had a chronic backache for the last three days, was hoping to get it all "done and dusted" by sundown today, will have to wait and see how the day pans out. If it's finished, I post a piccie. Then I can think about stitching a stern drive to this here Jaguar lump and inserting it-----"complete with its drive" as required by UIM law to make it an OUTBOARD--------Then we can open up a whole new can of worms and get into some decent heated discussion ! What do you think?

Never quite made the big time, that big old V12------was so close! Didn't they use it at Le-Mans in an all aluminium version?

Was the same thing with the "COLOGNE" ------heavy old lump, plenty gee- gees, but a lot of weight .The DFV spelt its death knell I think----but don't take that as gospel, you would have to ask Hawkeye Hawkins or Malcolm Tyrrel.

    Yes
As usual le mans rules keep changing to allow something to win.
Walkinshaw had the rules bent all they way out to 7.0ltr then his v12 could win.
The irony there is the rule was lowered from 7.0 na to stop Americans from winning years before.

The xj220 v6 is a mg 6r4 specifically designef for group b metro rally car.
Twr bought the rights to it and used it in the xj but modded to suit
