    Thanks - great looking boat.

    How fast with the 350 Verado? I'll have to look these up. Never seen one before.

    Conservative set up with it has it at 75 because the owner wants it that way, but another with a 300XS ran 88.

    I bet if Bob Latham saw the angle of steering ram he would not be happy. Looks really steep.

    lookin a boat pics out and in water
    dammmm that's some weight on that transom back there
    to suck rear under with less than 1" before water goes over transom,,,and that's in calm water
    and do agree rather have ram under water sitting still than at that angle racing

    yeah you're right.

    $400K would be just about the price for this turn-key

    hull --> $200,000
    engines --> 90,000
    rigging --> 55,000
    interior --> 10,000
    props --> 4,000
    ------------------------
    sub Total $359,000
    trailer 12,000
    ------------------------
    Total $371,000

    I don't think that these motors are going to get any applaud until someone unleashes the boost, its no different then the little tuner cars. No one paid attention until they started running mega boost and then they were sub 9 sec. front wheel drive rockets. When this motor puts out 550 to 600 horsepower then it will have appeal. Hopefully the bottom end will sustain a lot more then what its being fed now (I am sure that it will being that merc is giving it a warranty). Its been proven that for a single cat application it needs more power to get that big case up and surfaced to where its going to run efficiently.

    I agree with Joe. If they get the hp in the that weight range to equal the seven marine engines we would have something.

    But like Joe said....hope the other links in the chain are up to the task.Warranty could be an issue if boost thru the roof though.

    I was just trying to give that setup the benefit of any doubt that it will be very fast for twin 400s. But even at that, a guy would have to be crazy to spend that kind of money on a boat that big to run such a little #. Fill it with fuel and passengers and it's not going to crack 110! My similar size inboard cruises 110mph full of fuel and 5 passengers.........

    Funny you say that Joe, we had a guy that worked in the same shop as me back in '96/'97 that was the first front wheel drive import car to break into the 10s, and it was a BIG deal. Honda Civic w/ tons of boost and 400hp to the front wheels. He was at the forefront of all the import tuner street racing back in the day. And you're right about the hp of these big Mercs, until they make a lot more power, they're still WAY behind the inboard boats - and the power to weight ratio isn't good enough for use as a single on midsize boats (24'-28'). We figured that if Dan re-rigged his 24 Skater with a 400R, it would only go from 93 to 100 or so. It's not worth all the expense and the worse cg to gain 7mph. Now, if that 400R were a 550-600R, his 24 would run in the teens!
