Forgot to tell you, I bought this at the car boot sale on Thursday, cost me a tenner. Want to try and slow the motor down so I can cut metal without breaking the bank. I use the Startrite for too many other jobs, but the blade travels far too fast for metal cutting------five minutes cutting alloy and its buggered..
Thought about putting a variable speed motor on it similar to the one on my lathe. Cheapest way is to reduce the size of the toothed belt pulley.
Don't seem able to find one on the dot-dot, suppose I'll have to spin one up myself and cut the teeth freehand!
Struggling with the jockey wheel on the posh trailer for the COSWORTH -----thought it would be a simple hours job, but one thing leads to another, in the end I decided -----posh trailers need posh jockey wheels.
Glued up the second tyre and fixed it to the wheel, bearings work fine, stuck the green baize on the runners and a front "Bump post", halfway through the mudguards .
Wonder how many old racers remember the 12"X2" runners and the shag pile carpet we would stitch on to the tunnel boat trailers?
Rossi lost out on the Moto GP title by five points, while it makes exciting biting to watch, 'twould appear there's a wee bit of friction and more than a tad of jiggery pokey goes on.

Tavares almost here----this time next week it will all be over and I shall have missed it!
Will try and get some of you on FaceTime over the weekend, you can tell me what I'm missing.
Jackie - I don't particularly care for Marques (sp?) or Honda, but Rossi deserved the grid penalty. He clearly and deliberately caused Marques to go down. And because he was racing him too hard?? It was exciting to watch Rossi come through the pack though.
I grew up racing boats and love all types of motorsports, but I have to say that Moto3 is the BEST racing I've ever witnessed. Sometimes a dozen lead changes on one lap. One straight-away for that matter! And they usually don't string out.

I agree, but he had good reason, Marques was not racing Rossi, he was hassling him, you either piss, or get off the pot, or get kicked off. .

Oh boy, is that one mother of a toy shop ----- mine is not even one twentieth the size Gene!
Bite the bullet Mr. LANGHAM ------call out the engineer----some toys just cost a little more.

Came back from Havasu in 1970 in the company plane, remember it had two motors. Was it anything like the "MALIBU" ?

Jackie--that was probably the Brunswick/Mercury Sabreliner---wasn't that after your little event at Havasu??? Comparing a single engine piston to a twin engine jet?? That is tough--- They both share two things---$$$$ and the 'lift formula'

Yes Gene, that was after"My lncident"

Gene, my sainted mother must have been an engineer, she used the alphabet in a similar sort of way!

    A -----your adorable
    B------your so beautiful
C------your a cutie full of charm!
D -----she was always saying how dense I was
C L------if only I'd have known coefficient of the desired angle of attack, I would have been ready.
L ------lift after a kick up the backside
Kinda brings a tear to your eye don't it ?

First time I've had a long chat with my son Mark since he got back from China , he was full of his visit over there.
He's off to Key West tomorrow ------they cut the size of his stand in half -----he was going to take the COSWORTH and put it on display but now doesn't have the room, so he's taking "Old Blue" instead.
Might be a couple of old farts down there, but I think most of em will be in Tavares.

Yup, can tell by the total silence all the old farts are trekking to Tavares -------should be out there, but circumstances dictate otherwise. Oh to be a fly on the wall out there !
Had my half annual check up with the doctor today----diabetis is low, half a pill daily, cholesterol down to 3.2------ no more headaches------been eleven months since the DTI with no after effects (except total panic amongst insurance companys)-----blood pressure of an18 year old athlete.
Cleared for take off------can fly long distance any time I care to.
When this hand is played out, Jilly and me are taking time out and going off somewhere warm and exotic, maybe a Carribean cruise, all on our own, just need each each other, hold hands , reflect and reminisce-------think the kids call it "Chilling out", whatever the hell that means ?
Part arrived for my spot welder, so can finally finish all the concepts that need a final squeeze !
Worked on the "posh" trailer, should get it finished in the morning. Brought the COSWORTH in out of the rain, boy is that ever in a right old state-----only been out there a couple of weeks , don't know what's coming down out of the atmosphere but it plays hell with polished alloy boats.

Taking my sister and spouse down to the CRAB AND LOBSTER at Siddlesham for lunch tomorrow, it's Jilly's birthday----will call in and see Matt on the way there.
We've been married twenty years next week, seems like months , not years!

Anyone remember another "BLUE MINK" song--------"Where did they go all the good times.? Maddy Bell was the singer.

I got up and made the tea this morning-----well, it is the kitchen goddesses birthday today so I thought I would give her a treat!
Will only get a couple of hours in the shop today, trying to get back to some sort of normality, doing a bit of socialising. Getting too stuck in my ways, have to change.
First race in key west today----safe race to all the competitors-----MYGGWY.

Most of the old farts will be wending their way South----have a great time, all of you, see you there next year.

    Good morning Jackie

    See you there next year--

I think the issues with the landing gear are resolved---but the decision was made that a 1500 mile 'test flight' shouldn't be attempted

Sitting up waiting for Karin to return---Lufthansa on strike and she got stuck in Rome --missed her connecting flight---now driving back from DEN in a snowstorm in the middle of the night---these overseas flights are only for youngsters!!!

C'mon Gene you can do it------tell me a better feeling than going to pick up someone you care for, however far, whatever the weather, or the time of day or night,-------it's that little old thing called LOVE.

We will without doubt be a year older but we'll meet in Tavares around this time next year Gene.
Maybe I'll get a trip in the Malibu with you .

Only going to talk about nice things, nice people, nice boats, nice happenings from here on in, need everyone at the old farts meet to have a great time.
Hear on the vine Billy is partnering the preacher man------man I tell you, there is no end to the tricks that guy will stoop to when he wants to win that trophy-----even divine intervention is fair game!
Bill and Betty been out shopping for "Holy steaks" for tomorrow's Barbie in Apopka, you will not leave their house hungry or thirsty, that's for damn certain!.

Golf trophies arrived but not until all the matches were well under way.
British and US customs had made a right Royal mess of examining everything, but taking a sponson off one of the tunnels and losing one of the " Rotories" was a tad over the top.
Just hope it was all worth it.
Serra got hisself a gorgeous new girlfriend-----how the hell does a short, cranky miserable little **** like him do it ? Maybe hypnotism !

Wont know for a few hours yet how the Barbie went at Bill and Betty's----had to be good ----certainly a good turnout-----doesn't matter a damn who won, as long as a everyone had a great time. I think it's a nice way to start the Tavares weekend, whether your a golfer or not.
Enjot the weekend all of you, I will be there myself next year, God willing !

Jackie, the trophies are amazing - everyone is in awe! Love the Sprint 16 and a dab of glue will have the sponson back on in minutes.. Actually added a little racing authenticity to it - the real boat suffered a few incidents too, you might know. The BBQ and golf tourney was a ball - how could it not be with that cast of characters in attendance? Two surprise guests arrived late for dinner too: Andy and Phillip Bullen! The party is on - We were glad to see you on Skype yesterday, but wish you were here in person.. especially Bert! 😎
