It's good to have friends, to know you're all out there. Reminds me of the old Carol King song "You got a friend" -----me, ------I got lots of 'em, THANK YOU ALL.
Take each day as it comes, I'm lucky, I have a release valve with the shop, still have to switch on, machinery can bite if you get sloppy.

The Main Street in my village is called MAPLE STREET, this time of the year the trees have every colour under the sun in them, you could be in the Lake District, Maine or New England, the sheer beauty and spectacle of Autumn is here for all to see, make the most of it, it don't last long!

England has fallen into the same trap the USA did, we let the Chinese get a foot in the door, then they kicked it wide open. They sink fifty billion into a nuclear electric plant and now control the whole of the UKs electricity.
The buggers flood the world with cheap (state subsidised) steel until we can't compete on price and the steel industry is no more.
Five will get you ten that they wind up with the VW car empire.

Look out, look out, there's a Chinky about----we've all got our eyes wide shut?

Forget the Russkies, next super power is coming from the East, let's hope they never stop fighting each other and form a union or the rest of mankind could be in deep Sh-t. Gengis Khan all over again. Get back to you later with more wafflings .J.

I used to do all sorts of arty farty concepts long before I started trying my hand at "Nautical concepts". Came across one I had nearly finished a couple of years ago, spent this afternoon updating it into my own brand of "Conceptual Modern Art" . (Whatever the hell that means) It was hidden behind the engineering lathe . Didn't have the camera with me in the shop, will shoot off a couple of foggies tomorrow , you all had more than you can handle for one day anyway.

Stored a three masted schooner at the back of the shop, close to the bandsaw and wood lathe, over the last few months there's been a fair amount of "Fall Out"------ it has furled red sails covered in sawdust and cobwebs, comment from one of the grandkids was ----hey grandad is that the original GOONIE TREASURE GALLEON?, beauty comes with age, dust and cobwebs!

Facetimed Bill and Betty Baker today, wanted to know how much to charge at the Barbie for non golfers,I told em, $50, same as the golfers-----it's a gift! Best steak anywhere in Florida, as much beer and wine as you can drink. Free pool table, darts and great conversation with some wonderful folk, and you get to pickup all the trophies you ordered.

Not much change in Matt, Jilly was there until four, probably be the same tomorrow!

Me myself am keeping fighting fit and aches and pains free.
Was pleased to see Willabees back, I always worry when he's quiet, never know what the old CURMUDGEONS up to------deep, doubtful and dubious is William when he's in silent mode?

Totally knackered for some reason today-----must be the two light bulbs I changed?

You mean this one John? Sorry I didn't get round to replying.

unfortunately it's looking more and more unlikely that I shall make it to Tavares this fall, great pity, I always enjoy the weekend.
Maybe next year, the powers that be can arrange the timetable a little different, so it don't coincide with Key West. A lot of folk like to be at both events , unless you got a plane, chopper, or a magic wand, that's not going to happen!
Me myself would choose Tavares every time, there's only so many times you can walk down Duval and still enjoy.
Time to step up to the plate and face the day------slay the dragon, or taste the wine! Let's see what gets chucked my way today?

Second, couple a piccies are the Yew concept updated a tad.

Her indoors marched into the shop, puts the basket on the bench, "FIX IT" she says. What am I -----the bloody Wicker Man, but that was long after she left. Yes, I am basically a coward when it comes to the kitchen goddess-------Mike Tyson would think long and hard before he took her on

Jackie, I sent another e-mail after that one regarding the potential no show of Geoff Briggs & what to do with his concept Paris boat.

Bugger me, if it's not rent day again, seems like it's always Thursday these days. Once you get to hurtling along Lifes freeway at high speed, days ,weeks and months just fly by, if you don't stop and take the low road you'll even miss the annual events. You have to watch out for the "time thief", he's a real sneaky old bastard------------he stole one hell of a lot of years from me in the 80/s and 90/s . Every now and again, stop to look at the speedo, slow down, get a lube change and vehicle inspection, you might need to get some new parts------at 100 mph you don't get much chance to do that---------stop and smell the roses once in a while, I promise you they are something special!J

Did another spit, this time in wood. Steve next door chopped up a mahogany door ( well, he SAID it was mahogany) closest thing to balsa I ever came across. It'll be alright on the night, nothing to crow about-------kept me occupied for a few hours, can use the off cuts as kindling------get to practice some "LANGHAM" nose cones.

Ivans widow Kate came down with the three kids to visit Matt in the hospice--------bad idea !!!-------they've all had enough grief for the present-----plenty more to come yet.
Time was called on the visit, but Jilly spent the day there, it helps her more than it helps Matt methinks!

Shut the shop around three, no stomach for it today, need a stiffy, just a touch of "Dutch".
