Took the afternoon off and went to my son in law Steve's 58 Th. birthday Barbie -----did a power of good seeing members from my side of the family.
Problem is , everyone looks at their feet when I walk in, nobody knows what to say, everyone's tippy toeing with a fixed smile, they don't act like my family should!
Stayed a couple of hours and left quietly ----was glad to get home, Jilly was baby sitting Fleur (Betty) who was sound asleep on her lap.
So, no F1 Qualifying today, maybe tomorrow morning providing hurricane Pat behaves herself !
Got a problem with the tail plane on the spit, wasted a full morning, think I was in the wrong frame of mind, that's if i was even in a frame. So, I binned it, (the tail plane that is) threw away the bits, walked away and locked the door. As Scarlet once said, "Tomorrow is another day ".
Have a great mount in mind if I can get the spot welder working.
Trying to keep the little grey cells working and the Athritis out of the fingers, just when you think your winning , another joint puffs up, then I forget how many great grandchildren I have, and did I take my afternoon pills? Can't ever remember having this many things to remember .
Less happened today than yesterday ------unless I already forgot---some of you out there must know what the hell IM talking about!

Wow, the sun came up like thunder this morning, you got hurricanes in Austin and God chucked a beautiful day at Walberton, what can you make of this Motorway we call life. Sometimes you just have to get off and take the "high" road. Grab it with both hands and enjoy the diversion.
Today I shall don some half decent togs, have a full English! Light the fire, read the Sunday comics and have a day off. Make of it what you will-----maybe it's THAT time of life?

[QUOTE=CNC_Guy;2802798]Hi jackie, Had a quick run on the Mississippi this afternoon. Wanted to try out the new cheapie action cam but all my co-pilot (9 yr old daughter) got was 1 pic. I really like the Spitfire by the way.
[/QUOTE
Moments with your 9 year old daughter are more precious than gold Dave, savour, save and remember today. You only get to look after your kids for an all too brief moment in time!
Glad you like the spit, spent a couple of hours in the shop working on the tail. It's coming together nicely. Should have some more piccies later in the week.

Never could make up my mind as to whether Sunday was the first or the last day in the week?
Been a funny old week, only time Jilly and I get to talk is in bed, haven't seen a great deal of her, spends most days at the hospice with Matt. Does give me more time in the shop, also gives me more think time than I care to have !
Have another damn funeral to attend tomorrow -----will drop Jilly off at the hospice, do the funeral and pick her up around five.
Decided to go back to messing with wood, shavings are less toxic than filings and band saw blades last longer ( used four new blades last week ).
Besides, I don't cough and splutter near as much when I fiddle with timber.
Still haven't decided what the next "Concept" will be-----still trying to make outboards the way they should be-----if anyone has a decent idea for how the next generation of outboards should look, I would be happy to listen, look and learn.
As my sainted old friend Pruett would say about today's outboards "UGLY AS A STACK OF ASSHOLES ON A MUD FENCE"-------he pegged it about right!

Monday, Monday --just love that day, fresh start to the week, should be bright eyed and bushy tailed ready to take on all comers, instead, I'm in a sombre sort of mood, cogitating on what the next few hours will chuck at me!
Dressed in decent respectable attire, shops still locked---not allowed in there whenever I wear "decent".
Calling in at the post office with the "Pughie", on my way to the crematorium, been in the hall a week, waiting for me to send it off to Tennessee! Seems like it was only yesterday I was all gung ho and raring to go, Jesus wept, time flies when your having fun !
Comics are full of Hamilton and his three world titles, he got rid of the bleached thatch thank the Lord ------needs to shed the twinkly ear rings and concentrate on the next title.

No doubt about it ----I've had better days.
Depressing things -----funerals-----mostly black apart from the flowers, folk crying, misery oozes out of all the pores. Celebration of life of --------don't see much celebrating going on, was time for me to leave, slid out the back ignoring the curled up at the edge finger sandwiches on offer-----hells teeth it's not even one o'clock and it's a long day already.
Tried to catch forty winks but all I could do was think, tried the trusty S&F but nothing doing.
Jilly phoned wanting me to pick her up from the hospice, she was at Matts bedside, went to hug the boy, but the lights were out, he didn't recognise me, looked down at all the tubes, pipes and bottles, hard to imagine the forty five year old athlete of a year ago!
Fact is, if Matt was a pet dog or cat with all its faculties gone, almost blind, fed intravenously with a catheter, not able to make a sound, make no mistake, the powers that be would put the pair of us in jail for mistreatment! I can't understand the logic of the medical world. What I do see is the misery and heartache of the whole family that looks set to continue for some time yet!
Obviously got too much time on my hands, need to get into something to tax the little grey cells and get out of this dark place!
Sorry 'bout this----seems to help if I can get it off my chest!

Seems it's been a doom-n-gloom kinda day.
Never did open the shop.
Nice that friends rallied round.
If I didn't waffle and get rid of the feelings I think the back of my head would explode, still holding up quite well considering.
Try and think about the next concept, keep two steps in front, look at the latest pieces and know they're so much better than the early ones I did for J. Schubert, Mark Rathermell, Briggsie,Rich.
l, R/J, Stavros and Caddy! They should be with Bill Baker any day soon.
If there's any transit damage, he's quite capable of fixing it.
Definite day in the shop tomorrow, should be leaping about from dawn till dusk so should get the Spit finished-------if I do I'll post a piccie or two .
Been a hell of a long day so I'll bid you all a fond goodnight---MYGGWY.J.

Ya know Jackie I cant hit the "like " button cause I don't want anyone to take it the wrong way ! But I want you to know I (and we if I can speak for S&F) do admire and " like" the way you deal with the personal issues you and your family have had. I feel so sorry for you and Jill and I have not met you but I feel I know you better than most people I deal with daily! Thank you for sharing your life with us as we can all learn from you. Gary
