i like your models in stainless and ali , i know a chap down here in cornwall that makes model d type jags he makes all the door handles wheel spinners etc out of
pewter he says it's easy to mould and when polished it looks like chrome (just thinking with your skills you could knock out a batch of cleavers ) .

Casting is not one of my skills Rob, but I do have a sample prop I could send if your man is interested!

This is is the reason you didn't get many posts last weekend------I was led astray, my family got me quietly Sh-tfaced , Sister Ange and Daughter Sam introduced me to a bout of " Bubbly"!Not often I tie one on but there are always exceptions.
Finally arrived back home around 1 am, overslept, back to reality, but for a few hours forgot the traumas, trials and tribulations of everyday living------Sunseekers and champagne are OK for a while, but I wouldn't want to do it for a living!

Finally the promised Indian summer has arrived, must be eight consecutive days of sunshine , that has to be a record this year, with the sun due to shine until at least the weekend. Pool still closed until next Easter, don't think we used it much this year!

All steel and shiny boats seem to be the way I've been drifting, when I see them all lined up on the table I think it's time to put some wood and character back into my " Concepts".
Lets see what the little grey cells can come up with today.

Oh yes, have to say, it's nice to be back on S&F, spouting off about nothing in particular and managing to piss folk off without really trying.

Hey Johnno, nice to hear from you again, now why does Rich Mc Kinley ring such loud bells? Got a feeling he was with a bunch of racers that prowled all night around Paris, John Schubert, Billy Don Pruett, Roy Ridgell, all part of the original "Wild Things"-----My son Mark has amazing recall on our racing days, will FaceTime him tomorrow and see what comes up!

POST ME A PICKIE OF THE MAN. I might recall him if I see a face.

Rich died several years back. He worked at OMC as a technician. He blew over a rotary testing in Fl. and barrel rolled the rotary at Galveston; never to dive for OMC factory again. I think he co-drove with Mac McCuen at times. I don't know anything about his after hours events. Hid daughter is trying to find out info on the '69 Paris races as she says she has a Medal Rich won at that race; before my time.

    John & Jackie,

John if you remember Rich & I drove the standard V-4 racers on Scottis at the Miami introduction of the Rotaries.

Ok---Johnny Sanders would be your best bet to tell you about a 1969 Paris medal. Think he married Macunes daughter (Melanie) but I'm not sure, like I told you before, memories shot !

Steve Pinson was there, think all the OMC team tested at Brugge.

Maybe Bulman can remember----will ask Mark.

There were gold, silver and bronze medals and class winners too. I still have a 1970 silver hung up in the workshop------but I'm no going to get into that tonight. ,!

Had a full day out there, was cooking with gas, shop back into " Babies Pram" condition, band saw is singing my kind of song and the bin is getting kinda full of used abrasive----discs, pads, flap wheels and belts,
Made and finished the stern drive and gear case, God but I'm getting good at gear cases, don't take me anywhere near as long to construct them either! Sorry to be so modest about it , but that's a fact!

Thats me done for the day, MYGGWY.J.

    Jackie,
Yes indeed Johnnie married McCune's daughter Melinda, Then divorced & re-married. I last saw him at an OMC racers reunion probably 20 years ago. Believe he still lives north of Denver. Rich did co-drive with Mac & possibly even did so in the 1969 Paris race but my first time to Paris wasn't until 1970.

Even with the memory in tatters, two outa three ain't that bad, (Melinda, not Melanie). I'm sure Johnny Sanders would know the answer!
Last time I saw him was London Docks sometime in the late seventies or early eighties, he was jockeying that twelve cylinder "Wizard", think Fred H. Built it and Jimmy H. funded it. Was it Rick Frosts boat they "Borrowed" ------never ran for more than five minutes at a time before it broke the transom and went for a swim. It's been pulled back from the bottom more than once.

As Winnie Churchill once said "NEVER" in the field of human consumption-----was so much effort put into a project by so many, with so little return. Or words to that effect !
Mercury always denied they ever had anything to do with the Wizard-------it was a private effort, but I'm sure Rich or Gene could tell us more. Wonder what happened to it in the end.

I have to stop this meandering round the memory and wandering down diversification lane, too many old farts retired or went do-lally down the lane!

Had a good old session in the shop this morning-----repaired a Victorian fruit stand I made for my sister 25+ years ago-------she apparently dropped it and hid it in the garage 20 years ago, afraid to tell me, ----Dopey mare. !
Then cracked on with the next "Concept"
May show you what is next week!
Can anyone out there help with Rich. Mackinleys Paris medal ?

Murphy was missing for eight days this time----next door neighbor went on a cruise two weeks ago, came back to find Murf hiding in his lounge. How the hell she got in there is a complete mystery. Am seriously thinking of giving her an iPhone so she can call if she gets locked in anywhere in future.
Rich and Gene obviously don't know the tale of the Wizard, maybe somebody should give "Fast Fred"a nudge and see if he wants to come out to play!

Have a good night peeps MYGGWY.j.

You should build a model of the tower at Lake x, that could make you some money.
