Goodwood sports its its own individual golf carts, looks like a 1940/s shooting brake, they're called "WOODIES"
From the top of the downs it's possible to see the Isle of Wight, Chichester cathedral, The Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth all at the same time.
Theres also another course called "The Park Course"
first time in ten months that I've swung a golf club,( since Tavares last November, )won nine skins and toôk the money .

Hiya Dave, long time no hear! How ya keeping?
The hunting aristocracy of England would go pheasant and grouse hunting and required a utility vehicle to carry their Purdys and Remingtons and wellie boots, Barbours and deer stalkers.
They first converted Rolls Royces and Bentleys, Lea Francis and Delage, after ww2, Most manufacturers both here and in the U.S. Had these wooden bodied Utes , over here they were known as " SHOOTING BRAKES".
Dont ya just hate a "Smartarse" !

Lewis did the biz today, start to finish, led all the way ---11poles, seven victories, 53 points in the lead. It's all looking good so far, but the stupid double points system on the last race is something that has to be catered for!
Cant see. Anyone coming anywhere near his performances!
Expect Ferrari to be not just knocking on Lewis's door-----they will be bulldozing the door down to get him on board. That's the only way they can ever get back to winning ways.

    Dave,
Bill Brown was one of the founder members of COSWORTH along with Keith Duckworth and Mike Costain. Keith played with helicopters, Mike is an international glider pilot, Bill played at boat racing !
He built an all aluminium boat with detachable sponsons, marathon and sprint. Was not wholly successfull---boat had a tendency to leak and took in water waiting for the start.
Bill always was able to "Borrow" the latest version of the rapid and reliable BDG COSWORTH 2 litre motors. Unfortunately he was not an outstanding driver. But, he was a good innovator.
He was involved in the designing and testing of safety cells in the early days, he went down the aluminium road but came to a dead end when he dropped a mannequin in the cell from a crane and "Killed" it.!

Hey, Pilgrim, you tell me-----fixed wings and offshore were never my cup of tea. I only really got remotely interested when my Grandson Craig prove to be quite good in offshore racing!
Had a chopper licence for a couple of years and a glider licence, but never got around to fixed wings?

Trevor had retired by then, I don't think he was part of Bills program. COSWORTH had many bright lads working there. The two nose cones on my boat were done "in house"--- there were many companies closely associated with COSWORTH, Malcolm Tyrrel or Ian Hawkins know a lot more than I do"
