Where are all the boys with the toys ? . Often wonder what ex racers do for excitements? ----never dull in this neck of the woods![/QUOTE]

----The airplane is for sale----the motorcycle is for sale---the backyard has taken on a new importance.

Woke up this morning to a cold wet drizzle. At 8000 feet the summer is pretty short, but Karin is determined to take advantage of each summer day---

Hi ya Gene, What plane you got ? Cessna or Piper (most Americans like home grown !)
bike has to be a Harley----dreadful piece of Kit, but again home grown, agricultural with a cult following, still doesn't make it desirable to a discerning biker! Just my opinion!

Few picks of the "OFFENDED" still without the "OSCARS", realised all sailboats need a helm, that's one of those man sized steering wheel thingeys with knobs on, so I set to and started making a pair, I always screw up the first one anyway.

Had one similar to that Roger with an 18 up Evinrude, my dad used to pull my brother and me when we first learned to ski, some 60 odd years ago !
That was almost before Pontius was a Pilate and I still had ambition.

    .
Jackie---45 years----Cessna and Piper---in the past 15 years, this Piper Malibu has taken me coast to coast----Mexico to Canada and most points between---

And when not flying, has kept me current on my mechanicing skills---(and grand parenting skills)

Gene, I got twenty of those, (grandkids and great grandkids), never flown a fixed wing, did have a helicopter licence for a couple of years but the costs of keeping it were prohibitive.
The motor has to be a Lycombing, is it four or six pot?
Aren't we lucky to be leading such a wonderful life.
Course your so much older than me Gene, so you got more hours on the airframe, probably need an overhaul afore too long. keep taking the tablets like I do !

Jackie----the motor in the bird is a six cylinder Continental. A measly 8.6 liters, with enough turbo-chargers to maintain HP up to FL250---and also keep the cabin puffed up to a comfortable level---

I am taking the tablets---and this is the week to celebrate another large number---84----

OH WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MORNING------don't you just love that song? Well, today we have one of those perfect mornings------5:30am and the suns up, not a breath of wind, cloudless sky, birds singing their hearts out, wedding tomorrow and alls well with the world!

Have been told to keep a low profile as guests from all over the country are gathering here ready for the big day, I shall repair to the workshop and stay out of sight, that should suffice!

Doing a rework of my bench, I have about ten different hand held power tools plugged in at any one time, that means a lot of loose cables for me to trip over so it all needed "Sorting" so that's my aim for today.
Did manage to get both ships wheels into the final stages without damage, will stick the spare on "HARSOUL" then drag them down to the studio to lie dormant with all the other discarded concepts.
Still, it does stop the Athritis!
    Have a nice day peoples.J.

I'll bet you have a lot more leg and elbow room than the airlines give us these days. Not to mention paying to take anything more than your wallet with you.

Quite an eventful day yesterday, spent most of it in the shop fixing the electrics, then in the afternoon had to buff off and climb into the pool to scrub the liner which had gotten badly stained when some laurel leaves found their way in.
Then there was a fire at the Avisford Park Hilton which is where the weddings at and most of the guests are staying, fire men and fire engines in full flow, was supposed to have the stag night at the "Holly Tree" but they had a blocked drain with snot and crap everywhere, stank to high heaven so we all left that well alone and meandered over to the "Black Horse" at Binstead which is the next village over, turned out to be a wise decision, marvellous place, good food, company and ale!
I was voted as driver so I was still "Jober as a Sudge" all night long.
Forecast is for wall to wall sunshine until nine o'clock tonight, so it should be "Quite a good DO"

i know now this is a S&F site, but it is some of the tricks this particular old fart gets up to.

If weddings bore you to tears and it's only boats you want to read about then go toWilla's "Hot Singles" site, there's some hot discussions on mental capacities of of ex racers going down.
Bride and bridesmaid gone off to get their hair do's, I'm babysitting most of the morning, we have a brunch with champagne around noon. I earned enough brownie points last night that I am a free agent today-----drink a little , play a little etc, etc, etc, wedding ceremony takes place at four.

Had a quick count up of the 240V Hand tools, was surprised to find I had sixteen plugged in at any one time, no wonder I was tripping up over all the loose wires. Having a a swift cat nap before the furore, bride and maid trying on the dresses, baby Betty bawling her lungs out, it's all happening, three hours and we'll be at the reception.
Roll on Monday Monday, gonna love that day andNORMALITY .
