Thats what gave me aching legs and back, Sunday morning that looked like a cross between a sewage system and a Louisiana swamp, I'm still waiting for a gator to jump out the undergrowth ?

Had to call it a day at lunch time, was all tuckered out, Jilly fed me a Bombay Saphire and splash, picked me up before lunch, but it dropped me off for the rest of the day.

Looked at where the lean to is going, thought of it and walked away. You know when you stuff yourself rotten until you can eat no more-------th
en they serve you a "death by Chocolate" dripping with double cream-----that's the feeling I had ! Maybe I'll take another look tomorrow .

Got a huge pile of timber to saw into usable firewood, at the moment it's dumped outside the workshop doors, we have heavy rain forecast for Thursday so it has to be cut and stacked before then!

Was talking to my old friend Bill Mouland (92 but wise), explaining how difficult it is to put a price on any of the stuff I do and the fact that the chinks can make a perfect V8 replica for $35, he thought for a minute, scratched his head and came up with this------if someone commissions an artist to do a portrait, the last thing they want is for it to look like a photograph, very profound don't you think?

Reminds me of the tale of the mother in law visiting the maternity hospital who said to her daughter in law, "well I must say, it doesn't look much like his father" !
the girl looked her straight in the eye and replied, pointing to the downstairs restaurant, " This is a PUSSY, not a feckin photo copier" ! Says it all don't you think?

Took some piccies of the garden today, Mexican orange blossom looks great and it's got a beautiful scented with it.
Didn't get a lot done today, but I did "stop and smell the roses" that's me done MYGGWY.J.

The old oak tree looking good, the grass is getting thicker along with the weeds , house needs a repaint but not by me, the laurel bushes are just within control, they will need a severe haircut come the fall!

Bad accident in the Solent this morning one of the powerboats Peter Dredge runs, Martini Vector,, flipped just off Hamble point around 8am . Four people on board, two lifeboats, two ambulances a helicopter and half a dozen boats were on the scene within twenty minutes. It's believed they were doing a photo shoot on a perfect clear sunshiny day, that's why there are so many fotos of the accident. It was rumoured he hit a buoy and flipped, but that's doubtful, flat calm, experienced driver, boat was built to take passengers in safety, must have been a malfunction methinks.

That was a Cardinal Buoy he hit-------fact is, the boat was upside down when he hit it. .?
You do not hit a Cardinal and get away with it. All four are in Southampton Hospital, one of them is critical.

Cleared half the woodpile then started on the lean to, sheets are two metres by two and a half, only me doing the job and I have short arms, got the base planks down and one end up, legs aching again, bugger that for a game of soldiers-----try again tomorrow.

Pool will be full by morning, cleared the pump room, done the pump and filters, do a heater check in the morning and load the chlorine, Karcher the bubble cover and job done.
Leaf nets are full of holes and need replacing, another 50 quid and we'll be raring to go!

Forecast is for rain all day Thursday , give the car boot sale a miss methinks, try and clear the workshop, got three Molinaris ready for the studio, next up are a pair of motors for the walnut wing.
Got meself a swivel chair with a low back for the shop, it has five castors so I can scurry from bench to bench.

Anybody see that Piccaso made $160,000,000----Wouldn't mind, but the old bastard was mad as a March Hare, all the experts pretend they understand him, all a bit like the Kings new suit! It will take just one so called expert to say it's pure crap , then the excreta will surely hit the fan?

Thats it then, done putting the world to rights, let's do it again tomorrow MYGGWY, night all.j.

Jackie: I guess crap is in the eyes of the beholder. Some of us just appreciate the thought and effort put into "concepts". I seriously doubt you will get $160M, but the appreciation of your peers is worth a whole lot more. Have a good night. RJ

Johno' you hit the nail, the main reason I do these pieces is to stop me going do-lally, and halt the arthritis, biggest kick I get out of doing anything is when one of you out there likes what I've done.
Certainly don't do it to get rich. Usual way for selling a piece is to ask the buyer how much he thinks it's worth, if the price is too low I tell them, I also tell them if it's too much, I have never lost a customer, and will never fall out over the price! Sometimes I just get an idea and like to surprise a friend ( as with the rotary).
When I see perfect replicas of boats and engines (usually in plastic) I think why the hell would anyone buy an old farts efforts ? guess they don't put the feeling into plastic.
