There you have it A wing! In a microwave? See what I mean about a pair in there Rich?
Did deep thunks all night, maybe I need to mount 'em a la -----as your photo shot of the pair if SWITZERWINGS ------suppose. I made a dock and floated them somehow-----even if I kept them down to 12" the finished item would be Damned near a metre long.
Mounted one above the other, would be of sensible proportions.
Course I knew you would always be up for a wing------Rogers not a hard sell either.
There has to be one or two guys out there who once flew a wing that I could maybe light their candle!!!
Suppose if I really tried hard I could make 'em just a tad more authentic, so they actually looked like a SWITZER, might have to try casting my own cleavers, the right size are hard to find and ridiculously expensive, but the makers do have you by the nuts.

thats it then, will finish this one ------start a pair of new ones with acacia canopies and BP's

Ya know, life is like the Paris Six Huers, one hell of a ride, fast and sometimes bumpy, always exciting, relax a little from the Statue of Liberty to the pit turn, celebrate and laugh with friends, always looking forward to next time-----and we BULLSH-t and drink and live life as it should be lived for a while!

    have a great week-----talk later.j.

Did the filler caps, made a gear case for the second engine and polished them both to "THATS it " standard.

Cut out the Mahogony pontoons and the acacia rear cowls for the pair of Switzer wings, will do four engines and gear cases later. Will also makes the models closer to the originals.

Are you out of your mind ? Bob. Way beyond my capabilities, even a facsimileis would be pushing the boundaries.
im just an old powerboat racer who gets up to "Tricks" sometimes I have a ball, other times I fall flat on my face.
That looks like an 800 to me, could be a 700 but what do I know?
My own thoughts are BP's, 125 or 135,------ maybe an early silo!
You do know Rich had a mad fit of depression and stuck a twister on Diablos bum----just hope he's not daft enough to put a pair of em on! No telling how far out of shape that Switzer could get, must be double the horse power to what they ever had in the old days.

Have glued up the wing, mahogany sponson and acacia cowl. Even the originals did not have better figuring than this chunk of acacia, Rich would be proud of me! Even done a spare to make the mistakes on.
Painting is not my forte, even with twenty coats it still chips and looks pure ****e, big numbers will divert the attention--------7000.

Yes, you win the prize. That is a 1960 Merc 800.

I think the 7000 would have had the 1000's ??

Gene. If you haven't got it figured out by now I don't think small breakfast items are going to be much help.

Swear to God if I went with you, we would be still discussing the "transgressions " 'till well gone midnight-------you ain't never gonna make sense out of it in 2 and a half hours. Anyways the only small breakfast item I require would be a blonde with nice knockers I can look at and say--------in the old days I used to-----------------?

Had a quiet chuckle over that one Gene, hells teeth, I've been coping with transition since 1982, that was the year I swore I would get every penny I could from my old age pension--------had nearly 18 years out of the thieving, lying, government. I want every penny I put in back out plus some for "hassle".

Retired when I was fifty, then I started work! Never stopped, just slowed to a snails pace.
Stepped off the roundabout of life and smelled the roses, life's road is great if you get off the motorway and take to the country lanes most of the time.

    When you gonna retire Gene!

Gene and I both are retired from the Fire service. Gene preceded me into retirement by several years. Since my retirement I have been trying to follow his model and enjoy a long and productive retirement.

Gene is even older than me and that takes some doing.

Honest to murgatroyd its gonna be a long time before I find one, rarer than rockin horse Sh-t.

sister Ange coming today, taking her to The Fish Factory in Littlehampton for lunch, but I will get three or four hours in the shop before that. Should get the two wings shaped up and get to work on showing off the woodwork-------see if I can get it even close to the original.
days are getting longer, wood pile down to just a few days, Crocuses are about done, Daffodils in full bloom----------Bluebells next-------then we should feel the warmth on our backs and I can shed one of my three Cashmeres.
Working in the shed is so much nicer with the double doors wide open and the sun streaming in----- bring it on!
