Like I told you Stavros, you got a multitude of friends, old farts and well wishers , all singing from the same sheet, we love you!

On a more stupid note, thought I might just post a pic of what I'm trying to achieve for Rich !
Well of course for him there's only one thing it could be-------but you all knew that-----"A WING"!
Once I got into it I realized English Oak is not the ideal thing for making a wing out of.
I suppose I could paint it black, that would cover a multitude of mistakes.
Think I'll persevere with it------could always give it to Roger----he wouldn't bin it just yet!
Have to find a lump of pecan or walnut 'cept it's bloody hard to find this side of the pond.
Bear in mind it's early days yet for this "concept " wing, as with all my stuff, the finished article often don't look anything like the original-------yes, I know it's not like any wing you ever saw, but you try and find three SWITZERWINGS that look alike------they would be hard to find, rare as rocking horse sh-t!Click image for larger version.

Just once did I think I could design a tunnel boat that would make an impact.
Got a really good carpenter who did exactly what I told him to do, bought all the right ply and timbers and the best glue and fixings money could buy.
Took it up to Iver and tested it for a week, best I could do was mediocre , let Collie Coulson see if he could do anything with it ---------after it spat him OUTA the side he never got in a tunnel boat again, discretion being the better part of valour I let the carpenter go back to building houses and fitting kitchens and sold the boat!
Never ever tried again-----there is still no such thing as a rich tunnel boat builder.

The stuff I do now is for a bit of fun and not for human consumption ------gets me OUTA the house and keeps the arthritis out of my hands------they are "concepts" ----- nothing else-----hells teeth, I don't even do a drawing on a *** packet, it comes straight out of my head. (Another opening right there for you Willa !)
Another thing Steve, you can tell Brocklington I didn't need to mellow as I have always been the diplomatic courier------never clouted anyone, threatened a few but that's as far as it went.

Enough of this already time to hit the hay, nighty night, MYGGWY .J.

Doing well physically Jackie. Everything came out well with nearly no Pain. Had a week in the hospital. And now a week at home with the best nurse ever. She ihas taken wonderful care of me for 41 years and gets better every day. During surgery, they removed seven lymph nodes for biopsy. Unfortunately two of them came back positive. So it looks like I will have a bit of chemo ahead of me. Just got to be tough and hang in there. 
Steve----Think of it as a "speed bump"...and roll over it as if it isn't there.

Especially Renato Rich, he moved out of Torriggia and Como, away from the lakeside to a place up in the mountains.

He was around up to a couple of years ago still living with Margaret on Shoreham Beach, yes, he sold Renaults from St. John's road Hove.
Eldest son took over years ago, Collie used the name SCH , UNO WHO !! For his boats, last one was a 16' MM LEVI.
Meant to call in and see him when I got back from France, but it's like the road to Hell !!!

My sainted mother used to say, it's nice to see 'em come------but nicer to see ' em go.

My friend Reed from San Francisco says " There are two kinds of lights, headlights and tail lights"

My friend Leo from Holland----"Friends are like fish, --stay fresh for three days"

Enjoyed having kids and parents stay----but I do like it when it's just me and Jilly,
They had all set off for Somerset by 9am, so I was off into the shop like a long dog by ten past.
Got stuck into the wing, totally dismantled it and spent a couple of hours smoothing and polishing the two sponsons. Decided against varnish or paint, finished it with 400grit. Then loaded the beeswax----effect is a tad dramatic------it looks a bit like a barn find that had a leak in the roof for forty years, then somebody did a sloppy restoration job.
wing itself is a piece of folded stainless 150mm x 1 metre, final polish was 3,000 grit!.
Buggered up both cockpits trying to drill and fix them, have to do two more tomorrow !
Woodwork has got some 'Patina' already after only two coats of polish, looks antique already.
May have to do an adventurous piece of steel to cover the fixing bolts.

Hospital visit tomorrow, may get some answers to a few questions I need to ask?

Tuesday off up to Suffolk to visit my daughter Kim ----will get a couple of hours in tomorrow, but it looks like it's Thursday before I get big time in the shop again--------what's that thing about time flying-------seems like only last year I was lined up at Havasu waiting for the off!,

    Thats me done-----MYGGWY .J.

...Jackie, you mentioned Pecan and Walnut wood in a previous post. Have a shizz load of Pecan that I am sure you can do something with. Have some really nice slabs off of a hundred year or more tree in my garage that my deceased Father almost was divorced over here in my garage.
After Hurricane Ike a neighbor lost the old tree and after cutting it up and removing it from their yard it seems the bottom few feet of it was too darn heavy for the Mexicans to remove. They left it in the ditch.
My Dad goes down there with one of his tractors....drags it a mile back to the house...then takes it to a wood working shop to have it sliced up.
All this without my Mother's knowledge.
....a month or two she receives a call from the woodshop saying the slabs are ready to be picked up. Of course, she inquires how much the bill is having that big chunk of old wood sliced up.

It HIT THE FAN over there!!

At any rate, I have it stacked in my garage so it will not warp and if you are interested I would be more than willing to send a couple of pieces to you if you want some.
I'll take some pics later and post them up.

Well Dennis, you have a bag of gold, could be a big bag or a little bag, is it loved or down in the shed at the bottom of the garden----------attached to a Molinari or a Twistercraft, ?
Maybe it was a Team Mercury motor or a Bitsa! Cobbled together to make a whole?
Do you want hard cash or swopsies!.
A good lump (T2X) is as rare as hens teeth these days and well sought after, I have friends and a son who could be well interested in it.
Me myself am interested but impoverished--------you in the market for a "Concept Sculpture Craft"
tell me what you want and I'll stitch you something together, and we could maybe get together!
You will not have a problem offloading a T2X my friend.

THAT IS MY KIND OF STORY-----
Its what this thread "Tricks" is all about, folks with tales to tell of yesterday and today, the adventures you've had and hope to have still.

its just a year ago today since I started this thread and it seems to have brought together all the people I hoped it Would .
Just wanted to make use of the Internet to find and talk to old friends, talk boats and rubbish, make new friends and grow old with my friends ----argue a little------share a lot-----think and hope with them, live to a ripe old age happily knowing all I have to do is pull out the iPad and in 1 minute flat I can be Arguing with Willa, Mixing it with Seebold, Questioning Rich, Arranging with Sirois and cajoling CADDILAC-----proves that the old and the new can mix nicely.
Think everyone knows that they can comment on here anytime about anything and somebody somewhere in the world will listen-----it's a boaters paradise, no telling what's coming next and there isn't a question you can ask that one of these old farts can't answer--------why just this morning, Dennis from Branson ( is that anywhere near Shanectady, though it sounds more like Texas) brought a T2X up for sale.

Oh yes before I forget----would love a couple of chunks of pecan! Cost of transport is prohibitive,
to send Dave his guitar to Canada was over $150--------cost to post Odells Tunnel was $200----Marykas "GIESHA " was $120. but again nothing's impossible.

these are attempts at making a cockpit after I ruined the first one. Take a length of two inch alloy tube , cut it at an angle and take it from there!
