I remember my grandfather when we buried my mother ( early death from cancer) he was a doctor and said just the same as you Jackie, you are never meant to bury your children.
I guess he had seen that before being a Doctor in WWII

Johnno, you are another fine example of the fellowship of old boaters, remember how we used to argue? You never got as mad as Liquid Nirvana though, he did throw his dollies out of the pram on numerous occasions------then Stavros introduced us at the Old Farts and we hit it off immediately.
Its amazing how many people have lost loved ones to cancer, and it's nice to know there are friends out there for you,

FYI, I was never down in the dumps 'till I heard about ROTORIES.

I have heard that but when people say I dont do stupid things anymore its just because I've run out of stupid things to do, is that the correct interpretation of old age?
Whats old age 50% gone and 50% to go?

Thanks Rich & Doreen - I am doing well today and will have biopsy results next week. I think it is partly the "Old Fart Syndrome" .
Jackie - Once again, your artistic mastery is incredible.

Fingers crossed with the biopsy Stavros and we all have the "old fart" syndrome.
Don't ever look too close-------it would never stand up to " artistic mastery", it's just an old fart, farting about, I don't have enough time left for anything approaching perfection.
Have a tendency for quantity not quality, that's why I have always got two or four things on the go.
When I get a commision, I do spend time trying to do a good job for the money-----but I still feel guilty about charging for something I like doing!
Got asked if I was interested in doing an authentic scale model 1906 RollsRoyce "Silver Ghost"------told 'em I wasn't capable--------they're still talking about it to me , but they're funny buggers and if it's only 99% they will get prissy.
Nobody anywhere in the world does any old model Rollers over 6" long----so I am told. Maybe I should take a crack at it and charge accordingly-----I know how much a greek earns, but what does an old fart charge for three months in the workshop.
Will post a phoggie of a couple of bits of odd firewood I picked up down in Somerset-----I got one coat of polish on it already-----it does look the business.

My young brother " NIPPER" died of cancer four weeks after my daughter----he never made sixty.
His widow is as Irish as they come, devout Catholic, and wears her knees out gazing skywards with her hands clasped tightly, her name is Bridget but as long as I've known her everyone called her "JACKIE"-------There is a rurprise 80th birthday party for her on Saturday night up in Nottingham.
So, Jilly is taking me down to southampton tomorrow and sister Ange is driving me up there.
I may leave the I pad at home, so you may all get a rest from the rambler.
Thats it, another day done, but I did crack on well, so I bade thee goodnight Stavros MYGGWY.J.

This is one of those "Good to be alive Sort of days" wall to wall sunshine, crystal clear blue sky, frosty as buggery but so wonderfully fresh.
Was into the shop early just to finish one or two jobs off. Got another two coats of beeswax on the "HAWKEYE"------mounted it, covered the base in green baize VOILA ---its ready for the shelf in the shed!
Will send you a few piccies of the chaos in the shop and a few different bits of firewood destined for the shed but rescued from the log basket.
Short day work wise , leaving for my sisters just after lunch, though i'm quite chuffed with the day up to now.
Haven't yet learned how to download and send phoggies on the Mac yet, so i have to revert to the iPad to do that-----lets see what happens.
