Well, did the boot sale-----two pairs of work gloves at a quid a pair---liked these because they did not have canvas backs----when I am grinding sparks burn clean through to the skin and I tend to hop about a bit when that happens, these are rubber back and front.
Not much thrilled me out there today ' cept a box of pipe threaders which I bought for £4, gave 'em a quick once over and a Wilson tickle----should make £30 with a fair trade wind? Got a bid on ebay already, how 'bout that.
Last day of the kids today, Jilly took them to the Flying Fortress yet again, another hour in the pool and I can put the covers on till the next batch of relations come rushing in
Sam is threatening to buy me a BUSINESS CLASS ticket to Orlando----told her I had never flown first class to anywhere-----she reckons it's time I did. Won't hold my breath ---just play the hand that's dealt!!!
Not a lot to tell you so thought I might show you some of Jilly's sweet peas she grows---she's been picking 'em now every day for about six weeks-----she's an avid gardener-----me----I sometimes stop and smell the roses.
If I don't get whiskey tired again ----May give you a shout tonight
The rag and stick brigade finally started the "Round Britain Race" on Tuesday .
The Fastnet race is under way-----lifeboats will be called anytime soon.

Won't be writing much tonight-----just read WILLABEE'S "Hot Singles"column and gone into remembrance mode-----just relishing the great life I have and the wonderful people I met along the road, funny that most of them had to do with boat racing.
enclosing a couple of shots of my grandson Craig and great grandson Aiden at the Geiko awards.
Is that a boat racer in the making or what----latest in the Wilson line.

My next door neighbour Steve is an Elvis fruit and nut----has rooms dedicated to the guy---- even a genuine gold disc he paid a shed load for. On his last visit to Gracelands he bought the plaque in piccy number one ----asked if I would make him a five foot stainless look alike. Took nearly six hours-----can you spot the Undeliberate mistake I made.
Little darlings have finally departed until next summer--dad decided to come and collect them--albeit a day late-----my house is my own again----the kitchen godess will be catering just for me, no more fish fingers and boiled eggs with soldiers---must confess to being partial to the odd knickerbocker glory and banana split.
Man U lost to Swansea-----and at old Trafford -----welcome to the REAL world Mr. Vann Gaal.
Need a quiet day tomorrow, you may get a few ramblings so nighty night, MYGGWY J.

You win the kewpie doll. Dave.
Drew the bolt on the brushed side----mirror finish was on the back side---Steve won't give a flying fart----it's a "Freebie" anyway.

Nice easy totally stress free weekend----large Pimms both Saturday and Sunday lunchtime, had me forty winks, wandered in and out the shop as I felt like it-----started a new project from some of the off cuts of Steve's lightning bolt-----clue here -----biggest sail I ever made in stainless .
Had to clean two sackfuls of shavings from under the lathe-----was up to my knees in rabbit litter.
It's a good feeling to clean up the shop and then give all the tools and machines a blast of air with the doors wide open.
Collected all the dross from around the pool, rubber rings, boat, snorkels, goggles, paddles, filled the pool house 'till the next invasion. Might not be anytime soon as the temperature has dropped considerably. Checked the PH then topped the chlorine tub and filter with a couple of tablets.
Southampton is my local soccer team and nearly made it to Europe last season but the Pratt of a manager sold seven of the best players for over £50,000,000 and then wonders why they lost to Liverpool in the opening match of the season----you think I ought to have a quiet word, put him straight ?
Some of last weeks visitors that were "just passing"----or "in the area"----thought we would just pop in and say hi ------as they do. Glass of wine?------only if the bottles open----you think this is the sort of place that leaves a half full bottle?----red or white-----as it comes. Bet your sweet bippy THEY don't leave a half full glass!!
Promise to be more sociable now I am a free man again---will write drivel and stuff and nonsense and piss people right off----fare ye all well !! MYGGWY .J

Monday morning-----just love that day!! (Momma CASS ) .
Bright eyed and bushy tailed is what my teacher in junior class used to say.
Up with the larks is another I remember along with crack-o-sparrer, I suppose it was all to soften the blow of leaving a warm comfy bed.
Wonder if the USA had anything on a par with our little peculiarities .
I have always been an early riser----apprentice baker was a 3-30am start and I never lost the urge, filling station was 6 am commensurate and as the autumn creeps (or rushes) on I can't afford to waste any time, anywhere, it all has to be put to good use.
Not many work days to this week, off down to Hamble for a day out to the island tomorrow, and a funeral to attend to later this week then it's bank holiday here next weekend, lamb roast for about 80 people next door on Sunday ----cider pressing soon ---apples are ripe and falling like confetti, English equivalent of grape picking and pressing I suppose.
Logs are all stacked and dried out and under cover, stove needs a new back iron replaced before the weather turns sour.
Mid August , less than three months to the Off, really looking forward to that, wonder if R/J will make it, or any of the Canadians or Willa ?
Enough of this already let's get out there and make something, have a great day everyone, J.

Having problems with S&F (again) either I'm stupid or they should get their act together, it's a friggin adventure trying to download piccies.
Had one of those stellar mornings when I was going like a demented fiddler and everything was clicking like a well oiled machine------then a "friend" asked if he could come and use the south bend metal lathe, that screwed up the rest of the day

Jackie, in the early days of the Bristol Race there was a local driver called Fred Oram raced a cat sponsored by Park Furnishers....
Do you recall him or have any idea what became of him?..............Phill.

Collected the brass plaque from the engravers in Littlehampton , it's far better than I could have done but leaves a lot to be desired in skill and capability .
Anyway it looks better than it did and was worth the £7.50 it cost.
Was going great guns when the kitchen goddess walked into the shop and said " you're not really going to mount that nice piece of wood on that horrible base"----whilst I don't really have the balls to suggest sex and travel , I do have the the common sense to bite the bullet and allow silence to reign and rapidly prepare the new base.
That was when I had the visitor and the day got well and truly screwed.

Fred was a really nice guy and did most of the English national races, member at Fairford, was a friend of Mike Zamporelli another Bristol local. Have not heard from either of them for over 20years, don't know if they are dead or alive.
Which wife did Zamps finish up with do you know Phill?

Making rapid progress 'till I was rudely interrupted, that's the new base, made of Acacia, same as the boat, so Madame can have little else to say-----but I won't hold my breath, just got the triple spinnaker to do, then disassemble and polish before the final countdown .
Steve came round and collected his Elvis motif, was highly chuffed and insisted he pay for the steel, so I took a score from him-----wouldn't have charged him anything, he really is a pillar of the local community, not many weeks go by when he hasn't got some sort of function going on for the locals.
Cameron's sticking his neck out in Iraq again ----he just gets the economy back on track then gets involved in another war----stupid bugger----does he not know wars cost BILLIONS.
seem to have done nothing but bitch and moan today, wasn't really like that, enjoyed the day until I had to share my toys, let's see what tomorrow brings, going out on the Sunseeker Portofino to the Isle of Wight for lunch, byesies, MYGGWY .J.

De dawn is breaking and a new day has begun------Paul Robeson methinks some 75 years ago, they also say you can remember stuff that happened fifty years ago, but yesterday-----forget it.
Overcast but no wind----we're on, leaving 8 ish? Got the long strides on----taking shorts and the camera-----just in case, you never know, I just might get brave!
I let the early morning rush (commuters, workers and illegals in legal aid limos shopping for luxury items like iPhone 6 and designer gear) get away before venturing on to the motorway , kids are on vacation so parents won't be compus just yet.
No chance of even unlocking the shop to day, it's a relax and enjoy sort of day on somebody else's boat and it ain't costing me a red cent, how good is that? I'll tell you later.
See you all got your own share of trouble out in Ferguson Missouri ----I thought that sort of thing finished long ago at Wounded Knee and Waco , it wasn't Seebold who started it this time----he's in Florida!
