thanks for the kind thoughts Phil, no chance of a coffin nail between my lips
The Armani always makes me feel like Alvin Caprioni------fat and happy with a touch of panache.
Not much tonight-----been watching the Argies V the Dutch, highlight was still seeing Robbens rehearsing for swan lake, he's a great player-----doesn't need to act like a big girls blouse.
No way can I stay awake for extra time, talk to you tomorrow , MYGGWY,J.

There you have it the two ugliest guys in Bristol 36 years ago.
Whenever Gary came to England we would try and get out for a meal, or a show, or the Suzuki headquarters. Remember getting his boy his first set of leathers via Suzuki.
Think he topped up running a boat shop in Islamodora down in the keys.
Stayed at GG's house on numerous occasions, even went to a Greek wedding .
( with a beak like that it had to be a relation)
Somebody should write a book about that guy, he lived life at 100 mph every day
His other claim to fame was he had WILLABEE as his ramrod, so I have to tread lightly here.
Refuse to discuss football any more-----it's a done deal, the Argies don't have the firepower to match the Germans , take out Messi and it's all over.

Finally got to speak to Mark, told me it was stinking hot over the weekend in Sarasota and humid with it.
GIECO did the biz and managed to last the course.
Says he's off to Atlanta next weekend 240 boats entered in the poker run, that sounds like trouble.
Reckons he's propped about 40 of the rigs and wants to see how they perform.
had one of those "Best Forgotten" days-----nothing went wrong, but didn't get bugger all done.
Was at the car boot just gone seven, found a couple of boxes of slotted brass screws, 2" and a large box of assorted sizes (£3).
An old box of brass , alloy, and steel shims, a full set of vanadium metric wrenches, and a set of letter and number punches, all for a fiver, can't be bad.
Got a free weekend with no visitors (expected that is) should be able to clean the workshop, it's a downright bloody disgrace.
TIS said time and tide wait for no man----and if I don't clean up the mess in the workshop, no other bugger will.
theres not not much to tell you so I'll finish with an old joke, it can be Irish, pollock, neufy or tassy
Two Irish guys at a bar in Dublin -----
Paddy if I was to sneak into your house and make mad passionate love to your wife while you were off fishing and got her pregnant------would that make us relations?
Well Murphy, I don't really know about dat -----but it would make us even!
You just gotta love the Irish !!! Sleep tight, MYGGWY, J.

Good morrow all ye of little faith, a lot of "compus mentis"out there but very little in the way of feedback. It's ok to comment, be it good, bad, or indifferent. Would very much like to hear how my friends and acquaintances spend their time and things they get up to!! Have a guy who built a most magnificent workshop and posted pictures here on this site, then he went quiet after he posted the last piccy of it three quarters finished!!!
Donmac must be up to his fetlocks in preparation for the holiday season, wonder if he ever finished the guitar?
Even WILLABEE is lost for words----rare happening I can tell you.
You expect no response from the old farts, so I'm not disappointed there, just sad.
I'm still in need of a spot welder if anybody has one at a sensible price, haven't come across one , even on ebay they seem to fetch daft money.
Time to rise and shine and change the babies nappy ( diaper to the colonials), get back to you later with more stuff and nonsense, how did you like the Irish joke anyway ??????

Worked like a demented dingleberry clearing out the crap that had accumulated in the shop.
Shavings around the wood lathe were knee high, had to clear it as I was close to getting splinters in me privates and that would never do.
Amazing the stuff that gets left over, and the stuff you might need sometime, and the stuff you kept over the years because it's a shame to throw that-----might come in handy.
Pleased to tell you it's all been binned, have nothing left from yesterday, if it hasn't been used in the last two years, well that's going also. That includes tools and machinery.
Fish asked if I had a soldering iron he could use on the boat, he doesn't have power on board, had a look for one you heat up, remember the old wedge of copper on a rod with a wooden handle, found eleven of them in the cabinet-----they can all go, I haven't used them in ten years, he can have both blow lamps too. I've gone all modern and have a self igniting gas canister with a fearsome little device on top.
Still tittering to myself that we have a "free" weekend coming up-----don't get many of those in the year, let alone in high summer. Warm weather forecast, may crank the pool up to 30C then take a dip myself. Like to do fifty lengths before breakfast ------then again I'm a born liar!!!
You got enough for today so you won't have to suffer any jokes, you got off lightly, so get your heads down and sleep soundly, MYGGWY, J.

just had a chance to read your july news and it seems like your production is dwindling, must be the lazy days of summer!maybe I need another guitar body? I haven't touched the first one yet[that's a project to be done when I have time to concentrate]. I've been walking a fine line on time availability for all the chores at home and at the resort! I did get my viking in the water twice so far this summer! My daughter was home for her birthday dinner so I dropped the boat in for a ride to the resort to close the pool for the night. She says "I"ve never been in this one before". I quickly realized how time passes so quickly without notice.[she'd been in it before over 90 mph]she wasn't impressed with the boat over 80 mph,but I wasn't wasting the effort launching it without at least a bit senses exhileration! We had a nice uneventful ride to the resort and wandered the grounds, chatted! I had a very enjoyable time father/daughter catch up with whats happening in her life and how she's coping with her job[booming tattoo artist]/boyfriend[very entertaining lad ,but useless in the home and about to get the boot]/cat[wild thing]/car[working good, didn't need me to fix anything]!
She's become a very sensible/responsible lady [a teenage nightmare turned to a dream]! I'm sure you know how that is with one of your own!
I know very well about the stuff that doesn't get thrown out because you might need it in the next century! I need to do a shop purge myself, but that will have to wait for a day when I'm really pissed about something and I can throw it out the door!

Real sense of Des-Ja-Vous there. Don, had four real hard to handle daughters, but as they grew up, God worked his little miracle with them , the three that are left would be a credit to any dad, but I never will understand what him upstairs was thinking when he took the first born!
Glad to see your not lolling around taking in the waters as they say in. Bath and. Harrogate.
Tell me around Michaelmas whether you had a clear out ---or were just trundling down the road to hell, have to go, delivering a lawn mower this afternoon' tell you the story on that tonight.

Well, sorry .'bout your bad luck, never even opened the iPad last night----stayed up longer than I should watching the Samba's V the Cloggies---------Dutch V Brazil, afraid the brazilians have lost their way, which means Scolari will get the chop------ Robbens will get the best actor award and move to Manchester United. Rupert Murdoch and Skye will hike the fees up 10%, just so players wages can rise from a mere £250,000 per week to £350,000 each Feckin week. I wouldn't pay them in penny washers, bunch of spoilt overpaid prima donnas . Too many of them got the fever (gambling) and many more are crackheads, so no, I am not enamoured with soccer players.
Thats enough "sermonising" for one Sunday.
Back to the lawn mower tale. When we sold the house with 5acres in Avignon, I also sold the ride on mower, so when we arrived back in blighty to a house with a nice little lawn, I decided I would buy a real state of the art 36V lawn mower by Bosch!, Went to the local B&Q and purchased the top of the range all singing and dancing ---almost silent---£400 worth ----unpacked and carefully assembled said device and parked it on the lawn and pressed the trigger-------the blade rotated----that was it -----no forward movement, spent the next half hour searching for a drive switch----upshot was-----there is no forward movement until you PUSH the bloody thing------82years old and I have to push a frickin lawn mower for the first time in my life, when it said 36V I imagined it was like golf cart------never imagine , read the small print, except nowhere in the comic did it tell you to PUSH THE BLOODY USELESS PIECE OF KIT.
It had to go----put it on ebay and got £203 for it------snatched the guys hand off----delivered it 100 miles for free yesterday.

I suppose this is what NORMAL people do on a hot Sunday in July ------get up late, (7.30), bacon tomato toasted breakfast-----do the INTELLIGENT crossword. Potter about in the garden, trim a few bushes, dead head the roses, pick a bunch of sweet peas, backwash the pool filter and think " what the hell am I doing"
Gaze longingly at the locked workshop door ( out of bounds today) not allowed to enter 7days a week says " mien Fuhress" ----bad back, bad shoulder, and bad temper being the given reason for said punishment.
Cannot believe we have NO visitations -----dammit it's 25C out there, pool temp is 27 and the bloody covers still on it, I would call on the odd passer by, except we live at the top of a dead end lane and there's not many of those about!!!
Was mellowed a tad by the extra large PIMMS at lunchtime in the conservatoire, sun blazing in and Murphy on my lap, is this what's known as domestic bliss?
Had an hours nap ---now I'm piddling about on the iPad doing nothing in particular----I'll let you know if there's a nuclear attack on Walberton .
Time for tea, lemon zest cake and pills!!!!!!!

this is a normal sunday, get up at 6, check the boats are floating because of the torrential downpour overnight,go to resort clean and open 25x50 pool, check all water systems for proper operation and chlorine levels, empty all garbage containers and recycle bins around grounds, paint new office, come home and remove boat from water because tractor got stuck previous night and the boat stayed in for it's first overnight ever, head 30 miles south to pick up new fuel tank for truck, doddle along in weekend traffic, give up and return home, argue with wife about mess in shop[son and now wood working girlfriend left behind]!and do it all again tomorrow and the next day!etc.
life isn't idle that's a fact!

It's Monday morning after the night before, World cup dreams are all over. It finished with a subdued but predictable ending, more of a fizz than a bang. Tight rein on Messi, grab a goal and its all over.
All thats left is to award "The Oscars" for the best biter, shirt puller, diver, Head back arched back scream to the heavens actor, ankle tapper, head butter, longest spit, loudest swear.
There must be some football in there somewhere but we were not treated to much of it. thank god things are back to normal.
Sunday the 6th was the pinnacle of stupidity with ------Tour de France, British GP, Wimbledon final AND the world cup all rolled into a Sunday afternoon,------i did think it was all a bit too much -------or is it just me unable to take it all in?
right ----on with the modley as my sainted mother used to say, life is back to normal, workshop is open for business and this lad is a happy bunny.
Just great to be alive------
Best piece of advice i have ever had was from a tight arsed Welshman when i was a tad upset with guy i was buying some timber from in France and he upped the price. Took me to one side and asked if i Really wanted the timber----- course i did.
Right Jack he said-------------
