They had live folk music in nearly every pub in Dingle, didn't see the Dingle ball, but the singing and dancing started at 10 pm and I was long to my bed, si I have no idea what time the festivities ceased. But I tell you kids still in diapers, 100 year old grand dads and their wives and every relation in between took part. I tell you, the Irish know how to party, and everyone is made welcome.

Morning all, another day in paradise, beautiful wall to wall sunshine forecast for the day,, let's make sure we enjoy every one of those 86,400 gifts,I know I will.
First day back in the workshop, completely open mind as to where I'm heading, only one project on the go and that's the twin towers that I kinda got stuck on and just left it on the bench when I took a week off.
Had a day in the garden yesterday, beginning to look particularly nice, roses at their best, sweet peas just about ready to produce, fuschias are magnificent. The brambles are a pigging nuisance, but an hour with the secateurs put paid to the prickly little buggers.
Pools up to 28 (80+) and rising so invaders are expected.
So, it's out from under the sheets and let's take it on, have a great day everyone of you. J.

This column is not about what grand kids like, it's about you and me and the like----if you had to ask me if I liked the look of the new rude I would give you an honest answer., but you didn't, so I'll tell you anyway----
I look at ALL the big outboards today and they all remind me of Quasimodo -----HUMPETY BACK AND PUG UGLY,!!!!
All the designers must have been at the same remand home for wayward boys and girls and this is how they're getting back at us for all their past suffering.
They are not alone either-----car designers today must have been taken from the same pool.
Was a time when cars had character and panache ( a bit like outboards ) and every kid could tell you what make, model, year and even the colours they came in were. Hard to tell these days whether it's a plane, train, motor car or outboard, Well, you shoulda asked me.!!!

The baby boomers have left their grandkids with debt they will be paying for via taxation for their whole life..( well in western countries anyway, not where I choose the live these days)
Even my good old lucky country has just worked out that by 2017 50% of the tax take will be used for welfare and thats in a country where the workers have the 3rd largest pension pot on the planet..there's trouble ahead....
OZ government says, there will be no pensions and no free medical in 20 years time...

All our governments thought the smart thing to do was borrow their way out of debt and turned to the Chinese and the Arabs for loans.
THEY LOST SIGHT OF THE OBJECTIVE.
For every action, there is a reaction .
Now the only way they can repay the loans is by raiding the pension funds.
Neither me, my son, or grandsons have ever had a penny out of welfare, we were taught that unless you can pay for it, you can't have it.
if you weren't born here, or lived here for ten years, then you are entitled to bugger all, you have to earn it first.
Like I said, common sense went out the window a while back.
Good thing you have such a large pension pot, it will be used to pay the welfare AND the Arabs.
Dammit Powerabout, don't you think it's about time we knew you name? Unless it's Ermintrude-----or Jessie---or maybe Felicity.?

Found an old roofing slate, doodled about with it, bored a few holes in it, joined a few dots together, stuck a mirror on the back, countersunk the holes and very carefully guilded the countersink. Have no idea where I'm going with this, but when I get there I'll let you know.
While I was into the slate, I got an idea for the next project, so made a profile, look carefully and see if you can guess where I'm going with this, think a million or so years back. Been a beautiful day here, high 70 s.
My sister Ange and husband Fish just bought a 32' Sunseeker Portofino. It's berthed in Torquay and I got offered a ride back to Hamble tomorrow but I have a long standing lunch appointment so I had to take a rain check. Another time putetre .
England showed promise but came away with nothing, the USA played their socks off and Suarez took to munching the opposing team again, somebody is gonna bite either his ear or his head off one of these days. For a player with so much talent, he should be behind bars----in a zoo along with the other animals.
Thats it for tonight--I'm bushed, MYGGWY. J.
