Well Jackie.. my first Paris 6 hours was 1973 and there was no barges allowed during the race... (so barges in Paris was prior me racing there). To me the 2 liter inboard class was the "barges" in Paris. The OE class was always faster then the 2 liter inboard cats and fighting those waves from the heavy inboard cats was let us say no fun.
Below is the result from Paris 1978.
I did race the OZ class that year with Angelo Vassena and finish fourth.
You can also see the OE class did 135 laps and the S3 (2 liter inboard class) only 117 laps. Maybe you should have raced your 2 liter inboard boat to victory in the Paris inboard class 1978 instead of messing with the outboards in the OZ class..
