Nope, he said that's not valid Nick.... He knows.....And only someone else would need to hang one to know it's true weight! Lol.

So anybody care to check my Mathimates on Vizard's 128 rule

this assumes a 10.5 compression chamber so this would need some welding up to bring it up to spec similar to the an LS3 chamber
from what i could find a flattop piston would be desireble with valve releases offcourse

    183 183 cubic inch
Cubic Inches motor number of cylinders Cubic Inch Cyl valve size value divide by LSA
    vizard 128 LSA rule 183 4 45,75 2,00 0,91 128 equals 107,18375 LSA

    Graph number
Graph value overlap divide by Graph Calc number LSA GCN+LSA Times
    Lobe Duration Degree
    number 5 value 70 divide 2 outcome 35,00 + 107,18375 Lobe Duration 142,18 times 2 equals 284,3675 total LOBE duration

    LSA Graph

Ronnie ... I'm not much for doin "maff a ma tistics" ..
But experience tells me 10:1 will run on 92 octane. Especially when ya bleed some of it off with an intake lobe thats around 220-225* @ .050 lift. Ten more on the exhaust will help get rid of pumping losses.
110 to 114 LSA will help out with the "high gear only" no trans or converter to flair, situation that Vizard's numbers .. provide as optimal.

A 20 year veteran of Rottler CNC porting moved a couple doors away from Extreme cly head. He takes care of "everything" that's not related to air cooled Porsche heads.

He is up and running. brought me an LS head to weld up the broken / customer tried to remove the broken stud .. turned into a 1/2" bomb crater hole ..
I asked him .. think you can do any of these Merc-yota porky heads. He said I have over 1200 programs on file .. digitizing a few more wont hurt a bit ..

BTW .. Merc raised limiters on all their R+D motors. Like any mfg. they need to see what the motor will take .. before handing a tamed down version to John Q. Public who can break an anvil with a rubber mallet and demand a new anvil .. so yea, they can, but don't offer a "stepped on" model ..

Ronnie is talkin about doin an aftermarket PCM .. that way you don't need to beg the evil mother for crumbs .. you just write your own .. ifin ya can ..

    $550.00 US .. Merc probably want's that much for a camshaft ..

Nice thing about having a cam core is that it can be put on a "cam-doctor" machine. It will print out the exact numbers on what each lobe value is. Then it can be welded / re-ground to whatever you want it to be.
It will need valve springs too ..

Now that Mercury is seeing the post covid effects on boat and motor sales force layoffs at there plant, perhaps they will consider a 225R V6 build to broaden the portfolio.

Did you do any testing yet with the sportmaster? I hear Mercury now offers a 200 pro xs V6

    200 Pro XS is still a V8. Only the 175 is a V6

Discretionary spending has gone like the middle class
Merc warehouses full of the whole range

The over 500k yachts and powerboats are being offered cheap ( wuhan orders) from manufacturers as buyers seem to have dropped out as the boat goes down the line thats worldwide.

I believe I'm eating crow. I think I saw one in a video this morning. They called it a 225R anyway.
