Yup, you’d best show me the math. Boatingmag.com shows 60 Kw at 21 mph, and 86 KWh of battery capacity.

Anyhow a Hydrogen Honda pickup was on display out front, it had to be 20 years ago, where are they now,

Hydrogen is only worth it in fleet vehicles that can fill their own.

HYDROGEN IS CONSIDERED INEFFICIENT, because a significant amount of energy is lost during the process of producing, storing, and transporting it. non starter.
If there was green power it would be so cheap the enery loss is a non issue

If you have LOTS of excess "off-peak" power (likely from new nukes)... you could probably make hydrogen competitive with batteries.

For starters 86KWh/60KW is 1.4 hours. That is from 100%, to zero, dead in the water. Or about your 1h20m. If they actually did that test, that means they towed the boat to the start point, and ran it at 60KW for 1h20m, then towed it back, dead. Did they really do such a test? Weird. That is pretty much nothing like the way real people out for a day of boating would use their boat. As I said. Weird. And how did they pick 60KW as the power to use. That’s about 80hp. Can a 5000lb boat plane out in 80hp? Maybe. Just.

Next, Vision’s web site, owner, and promotional video make no mention of an 86KWh battery pack. They only mention 70KWh.

And My my. Four Winns no longer lists the H2e in their list of boats, at www.fourwinns.com/us nor does it list the H2e when you drill down into the H2 outboard menu. That wasn’t a very long run, selling the H2e. A little more than a year, IMS.

But you can google it and they have an orphaned page for it. But it does not give any specs like they used to have when they listed it in their lineup on their web site. That’s OK. I remember: The H2e was twice the price of the equivalent hp petro outboard that can run all day on a tank of petrol.

"No way it’s planing for 1h20m. Idling off plane… Maybe." I think this is an overstatement. It's doable, but with less than 10% capacity left. Most of the cottagers on my lake could use this boat without compromising their normal use. The boat is not useless, but it is illogical. The electric version cost twice as much as the gasoline version and would almost certainly have higher lifetime CO2 emissions.

It's no surprise that the boat is already out of production. Nor is it a surprise that at least one gullible person bought one.

Seeing that the guy at the forefront of that dream now has the ear of the leader of the country, I would guess not, lol. I'm looking forward to watching the sides completely flip, and cybertrucks getting a rolling coal sound, AI smoke package. My guess would be that battery, infrastructure, supporting startups and building in US will be subsidized even farther, same as happened with the farming tarrifs. We shall see.

I'm a Musk fanboy, so I'd like to see where his vision goes. I'd prefer he stayed out of the social bs, but that seems to be the natural progression of industrialists. Hopefully, he fares better than Hughes in the end. I've been deep diving into AI stuff as of late, it's the tech segments wild West right now. CA just shot down a bill that was basically designed by Musk to kneecap the front runner in AI. Guess we'll see if goes to the federal level, now that Musk has that feather in his cap.

Part of POTUS Trump's promise to the American people was to cut government wasteful spending. Dept. of Gov Efficiency (DODE) co-lead by Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy.
Their job's are to slash two trillion dollars in government spending. Not add to the deficit in a market that the American people have shown to have no interest in.
In the POTUS own word's .... DRILL, BABY DRILL

Power ole boy ... Trump deals with his "conundrums" by waving his pointer finger in the air ..

China cars .. ???? you really should spend some time here in MURICA looking around before making a statement like that ..

Of course, I can think of a few jack-wagons that would go out of their way to try and import a few of them .. as a social experiment ..
