Why the hell would he even contemplate retiring ——- plain to see he just has a sh-tty car. He’s lost none of his ability. Just take a look at last years results —-right up to the last race .
Minute he gets a half tidy car —— snipers will crawl back into the hide .
All old drivers have got far too much to say—— not that anyone takes a blind bit of notice anyway.

Was about what you could expect for a powerboat reunion . Sport is in decline anyway and has been for years —- we simply choose to ignore the fact.
ITS JUST A DEDICATED FEW WHO HAVE THE THANKLESS TASK OF TRYING TO KEEP IT ALIVE ???
These sport car enthusiasts have a large social media following. One way to introduce their fans to boat racing is, to give these guys (and others like them) a public relations thrill-ride. Let them broadcast the thrill experiences to their fan bases.
    Low cost advertising.

Camera location is a key movie & TV priority. I still say current & past boat race filming has not optimized all the best camera angles. They need to have footage at the water-surface level.

Case-in-point. You mentioned earlier the Bristol reunion. At Bristol in 1973, after the boats took off from the starting dock, I stayed (by myself) on the dock. Whilst everyone else (including spectators) was looking vertically downward on the race action, I was at the race drivers’ horizontal level. I witnessed Renato, Tom, Bob and Cees flying towards the turn buoy & me. I could see through the tunnel to the lower-unit.

Similarly doing prop changes in the middle of Lago di Como — “Bob pull the kill switch plug out” —let the Kid do it on a hot engine. Bob Spalding would use my boat as a reference point for turning, or go screaming by looking down at the portable RPM instrument. I was where current Video Cameras need to be placed. Viewpoints Near the Action. See the faces/helmets and get close to the speed and boat spray.

I am still baffled, why video production teams do not visualize the significance of, placing cameras near the water’s surface & inside the course near the turn buoys.

George and Maryka have a house near TORREY PINES—— overlooking the ocean—- Maryka is nearly 80 years on now . Still manages to compete in her 65foot Swan around the Catalina area.
Had a summer home just outside SAINT REMY in the Languedoc region . Was an old MAS with a vineyard . Spent many Happy Hours picking, bottling and drinking his wine. Another of my friends gone.

Here is the golf course at Torrey Pines in California.

The guys in the para-sails are riding on the upward air drafts. The ocean breeze comes in and hits the bluffs, and the parachute guys go riding parallel with the bluffs. Along the coast.

BOTH George and Maryka are keen golfers —- George plays regularly with Phil Micklesham . I also heard the fees there are eye watering. Played there once [not very well im afraid]. Was determined to make a good impression but failed miserably. Trying too hard i suppose —- trying to impress ?????

Use to see these guys occasionally in the early seventies . In the days when Barry SHEENE would drop into the front garden at the farm. No telling who he would bring with him.
This Friday at Goodwood —all the old bike racers helped Wayne onto his championship winning Yamaha—-gave him a push and sent him up the hill. Not bad for someone who is paralysed and in a wheel chair.?

Truly an amazing person Mr. Barry Sheen. It was a pleasure to watch him race at Daytona when I was just a kid. I raced motocross there like I said in the early days 7273. Also pit crew for the guy riding a Kawasaki named Ginger Molloy New Zealanders

No sir don’t recall that name but then again there were so many racers there in those days is there still are you just didn’t get to see everybody sometimes you were too busy watching the spectacles in the infield. But in those days I was just a grease monkey for the pit crew I worked for the local Kawasaki dealer in Tallahassee Florida and he was always given a bike from Kawasaki to prepare for the Daytona 200 from 68 until about 73 and we all work for him. I guess if that contact was water cooledHe would need a long hose the race around Daytona. L O L

Again this machine misspelled me. That last call should’ve said Koenig was the water cooled. I guess it doesn’t understand my southern drawl.
