Never did get to even start on the gearcases. Two days gone with two still to go. Not a cat in hells chance of even one of the four concepts getting finished
Mitigating circumstances !!!!!!!! Daughter BOO decided the rest of the shop needed a clean up and make over —— there goes the best part of a day.
Sweet peas need a new wire framework. Now that in itself is not normally an issue . Picked up a tangle of copper wire from the scrapyard . Hells teeth —this wont take long, its only a six by six fencing panel and it has substantial four by four posts to accommodate the fixing screws top and bottom four inches apart . 72 screws , no problem.
confess the screws took longer than i thought . Top fixings down to the half way mark were reasonable . Bottom ones were the problem —- tried everything —-kneeling —- sitting—-laying to wind in the damn screws . Kneeling down is no problem—its getting up again !!!!!!
then there‘s the stringing of the wire —— 36 of the awkward little bastards —18 vertical and 18 horizontal. That was friday, Yesterday i started to ache —— legs —back and arms . Today as i lay in bed telling you about this i realise that i have aches in my arse bones . Never realised i even had ARSE BONES !!!!!!!
Thank God the network will see me out and i never again have to erect a sweet pea support.

That’s why we started the ABBA and made the Caribbean Club the world headquarters Jackie. American bar racers and brawlers Association. The only rule is there are no rules. Anyone putting up a protest has to buy the protest he drinks at the bar for the rest of the evening. Run watch’s brung. These races went on memorial day and Labor Day and sometimes Fourth of July when we didn’t go to the elks club in Key Largo. Tried to keep things as simple as possible. We ran bonefish skiffs, Aluminum Jon boats SK runabouts GM boats and even some hydroplanes. Tunnel boats later on. Are used to get all the local racers from south Florida and west Florida and even a few out of towners. Much like deal pelican harbor races back in the day. I know way these races could survive today.

What I can’t understand is there is more Petroleum in the western United States and Alaska forget about Venezuela and Nigeria. Who needs the Russified and the Ragheads Anyway. Hey funny story about Florida boys learning to Ski on snow. Got married in 1976 and one of the things my ex-wife wanted me to do was give a boat racing so being young dumb and stupid I agree. That was one. Another stupid thing I agreed to I was going to the left coast land of fruits and nuts for a honeymoon. Had a good time open wine country imbibing in the grape. Next winter lake Taos for some snow skiing. My ex was also from Florida but she had lived in Colorado for two years and was a proficient snow skier. I didn’t know from nothing about black diamond courses but I sure learned quick talk about Screamin fly into a pine tree or spruce or whatever the hell it was, I managed to make it off the slope after one run and went straight to rum in the bar never left the bar for the rest of the honeymoon. I don’t remember too much after that I got home to Miami and managed to stay married for about 14 years. Still lovely lady but she tried to kill me on her honeymoon .
