I still have enough muscle to flop into the passenger seat— just turn sideways and drop my arse into the beautifully shaped and comfortable seat [could travel non stop for a couple of hours before i need a tinkle]. It’s getting out —THATS the problem.
Gene. You have to put FESTIVAL OF SPEED AT GOODWOOD on your bucket list —would love to show you the whole estate.
some of the worlds best restaurants——— acknowledged to have the most beautiful horse racing venue in the world———world class car racing circuit. Best privately owned airfield in the world —.
two world class golf courses ——— rally cross circuit==== spa and gym and tennis courts — swimming pools and all things affiliated . Damned if i know exactly what the acreage is [ adequate]. Even the ROLLS ROYCE FACTORY is situated in the grounds .
Me , i can die happy just knowing i am a Goodwood member . Been there —done that—have the jacket .

...gene...you know how to do it. as long as the car is rolling either forward or backwards at all, it should not be too hard to turn the wheel a little bit. p.s...i owned a wimbleton white 64 1/2 mustang. they are rather low overhead door openings & i would smack my freak'n head on the top stainless trim getting in...

"No power steering" then get a larger diameter steering wheel.

This is an experience I encountered. On one of my trips back from Europe, my grandmother picked me up at the airport. So on the way back to her house, I drove her car, a Rambler sedan (circa 1964).

And the first thing I noticed was how big the steering wheel was, and with no power supply, I understood why. And if you have driven a Semi truck, then you will also have operated a big steering wheel.

One of the problems that I see with power steering, is what I have seen women (& others) put on the system.

I have seen it numerous times. The car will be sitting still, like in a parallel parking space, and the driver will start turning the wheel. Forcing the hydraulic system to turn the wheels (with all that dead weight) whilst the vehicle is sitting still.

Still cant wipe the silly grin off my face whenever i see this car —- yes i did sit in it —- it is a GORDON MURRAY creation —- but it does have a much revamped COSWORTH V12 lump in it. Brought back fond memories of the cosworth days and all the wonderful people i got to know that worked there . Starting with Gloria on the switchboard .Malcolm in charge —DICK in charge overall— clown prince IAN [HAWKEYE] ——-KEITH—MIKE—BILL AND BEN. —- if ever there was a family workforce factory it was COSWORTHS . So glad i was a tiny part of it -just for a little while.
