I have a buddy with a 22 Cougar MTR - top speed with a 300 x - 90 mph . We are at 1750 ft. He put a Nizpro 450 hp Supercharged Yamaha on it - first pass - 114 mph GPS. This speed was with stock Yamaha gearcase - no nosecone but water intake holes above centerline of gearcase were closed off. He was happy. I have twin 475 hp Nizpro Yamahas on a 25 Talon - in gear idle start to 100 mph - 10 seconds. No top speed numbers yet - the boat skates around over 105 mph - scary -trying to work it out.

I will be running the Chaudron 25 with a 300R tomorrow or Friday, it's brand new so won't be doing a full test.
With all these smaller boats you want that stability at those speeds which is hard and the aerodynamics play a huge part past 100 MPH. Which is why there seems to be a wall with some boats no matter how much power is added.

That's a wild paint job on that 22, looks cool.

Agree 100% on the aerodynamics. Bernico did substantial wind flow modeling when they re-designed there 22' F2 Xtreme below left.
This is also why Tuff's 25 is "smaller" in many regards then there 21. They focused on weight reduction and gave the 25 a narrower beam and lower profile then the 21 yet it has about the same size cockpit area. Built for smooth lake water and chasing a big speed with the wider 10" pad and mini strakes. Makes the 21 Tuff (890 lbs) even more impressive at 106 mph with a stock 300XS. No numbers yet on the Tuff 21 up there that is running a 300R but probably not getting 106.
The Chaudron 22 with a 300R or a flashed Nizpro Yamaha V6 on the back would be an interesting test. They build wave crushers over in Malta. Maybe your friends at the factory have that in the works this year. I suspect it would easily touch 100 mph.

Meanwhile outside of New York Metro, they did not get the memo. Never, ever install a custom 12" pad on a Superboat 21.

It won't be long before someone hangs a 300R V8 onto a Progression 22 and tries to break the 300XS best speed of 94 mph with full interior.

The 300R is definitely a beast, the torque and power delivery across the RPM range is incredible.
